Hi!

Just booked by next trip for Sept 23/Oct 1st 06  and noticed there is triathalon the weekend of Sept 23/24th :rolleyes2 -- will this make it crowded for the rest of the week i am there- or maybe just for that weekend?? :confused3

Has anyone been there in the past during this event??

Thanks!

Only a little bit of help here:
I did the Triathlon the first year it was at Disney World. At that time, it was not managed by Disney, but by another company. The event was horrible - we ended up running 6 miles in big circles through an empty Magic Kingdom parking lot. Because the event was managed so poorly (there were other issues) Disney tookover the Triathlon and it is now a Disney event. I tell you all this because I don't know how the actual event will affect the parks that morning. I belive that the swim starts at sunrise from the Contempory, the bike is backstage from the Contempory to EPCOT, and the run is through EPCOT. I know that MGM and AK will not be affected by the event at all. As for crowds. The year I did it, we stayed 4 days after the Tri and while I did notice several T-shirts and medals the overall waits were still very low. Maybe 20 min. for Splash and Space.

Oh crap! I am going at this time too. And I thought nothing was going to spoil my low crowd levels, besides a hurricane or two.......

I always do this!!! :headache:

I book my ressie and then AFTER i book i go and see what events are taking place-- YOU WOULD THINK I WOULD LEARN AFTER 11 TIMES! :sad2:

and usually the most "annoying" (sorry to offend anyone) events are the ones that are shown on WORLD WIDE OF SPORTS site! by annoying i mean- they affect the crowd/kid levels! such as cheerleading- football etc. :cheer2:

i dont think the triathalon will bring many kids. and i don't care if they are running the race through the parks- i just dont want to have to wait in lines etc.
