I plan to take it to a camera shop tomorrow.
Anyone have any experience with this? I'm so hoping this camera isn't cooked as a result. Wouldn't you know? I have a major event in 12 days to photograph!!!
Any advice from the experrts out there?
Thanks in advance.

how badly is it bent I had a friend with the same problem, I took a small paperclip. bent the end of it, used that to get under the pin and gently pull it away from the other pin that it was touching then I simply took a jewelers screwdriver and very carefull bent the pin back into position, I then very carefully inserted the card making sure not to force it, that helped line up the pin the rest of the way..

depends on how brave you are

wow, I had almost the same thing happen to me yesterday with the same camera!!
It won't take a picture because it says "card-cover open". I took it in today and a little peice is shipped off inside the card cover area. They said it would take 4-6 weeks. But, I have a lot of stuff to photograph in the next two weeks!!
So, I think I'm going to try and glue something there in the mean time. Then take it to get fixed. UGH! I took mine to Ritz, maybe you have one near you.
