I can't continue reading beyond Le Cellier. I will admit that a little part of me, (and the whole of stomach) is only going to Disney for that exact dish. I give you credit - I couldn't do the desert... I only had half of a kids Mousse. And yes, it's wonderful, too. I dream of the white truffle and herb butter sauce - that's just not normal.

Fantastic reviews!:thumbsup2 Thanks so much for the DL pics. Someday I'll get there!:goodvibes

I also had the blood orange margarita at The Ditch -- OMG, so good! I could go for one of those right about now. It's 5:00 somewhere, right??

Looking forward to more of your super reviews!

WOW, you make me sooooo happy that we booked Chefs de France for lunch one day!! My boys would be happy if we could see Remy, but I haven't told them about him possibly being there. I figure, if we don't see him, they won't be disappointed. But if they see him, they will be completely surprised and happy! We really are going there for the food, and it looks amazing! I am wondering how the quiche is there. My DH LOVES escargots, and he is sure to order them in there!

:yay: I'm so glad you're excited!!! I so loved it! It's my second time eating here and it won't be my last that's for sure! Yor DH is in for a ride with that escargot!!! It's heaven in a dish!!

Your DL trip looks awesome too! Yes, the castle looks small compared to Cinderella's castle, but it still looks beautiful!

So, what's next? Come on now, don't make us wait too long! We food porn addicts need our fill each day!!! :lmao:

California Grill is coming right up!

Thanks for a wonderful update...the pictures are making me drool. We love Chefs de France and always had yummy lunch there. My husband got the cheese platter and I got the escargot last trip and it was really delicious.

Oh how funny!!! Popular dishes next to the french soup I see!!!

You guys are sitting at the same table my DH and I had last May :rotfl:

That tables only for the pretty people, right?!?! :rotfl:

Okay, I'm breaking my vow of silence. I saw your pic of the cream puff and just have to point out, that if you're ever in Wisconsin during the summer, hit our state fair and get one of the famous cream puffs. You'll most likely have to wait in line for a while, but I don't know anybody who skips over them (aside from me; cream filling and pastry=gross)

Ooh we do want to come to Wisconsin, but during football season...we're CHEESEHEADS!!! :cool1:

How DARE you insult me on my thread!!! Cream filling and Pastry is the best combo next to PB&J!!!! :rotfl:

Almost forgot to add that your trip sounds like it was amazing and I'm really left waiting for the next installment. AND, your name, "Leshaface" makes me laugh! My daughter is my Mayceface and most others as well!

That's too cute!!! :cutie:

Really enjoying your reviews, very entertaining!:thumbsup2

Thanks TigerKat!!! :hippie:

How DARE you post pictures from Bou Pat! I love that place. The chocolate croissant is just heavenly. On our trip in October I seriously want to pack tupperware and buy like 6 of them to bring home. I'm not kidding. :lmao:

Seriously, SUCH a great idea!! Oh my goodness thanks for the tip!!! And isn't the patisserie insane!? Like just give me an hour alone in that place...so much damage will be done! :rotfl2:

I've never been to Disneyland, so it was cool to see those pics. I can't believe how little the castle is there compared to WDW!

You seriously have got to make a trip out here! Yes I know it may be harding trying to pry yourself from your WDW trips, but everyone has to come here once in their life!

Haha, I can see you guys running through Epcot to get to Chef's. :rotfl:

I have not been to Chef's before, so it was nice to see pics from there too.

Not...been...to...CHEFS!?! Alright tinkgurl, give me your ressie number and I'll book Chefs for you!!! :lmao:

Great Chef's review, your Croque Monsieur looks really good.

Stefy....SOOO GOOOD is the Croque Monsieur!!!

Can I have one of those cream puffs, they look divine!

;And you may certainly have one of those delectable Cream Puffs!!!

Wait a sec...it's not normal...oh uh looks like we both need some help here!!! :rotfl2:

Just love your reviews
Imagine what kind of state you would get yourself in if you ever went to Disneyland in Paris :rotfl2:

 I think if I ever got the opportunity to go to Disneyland Paris I would FREAK OUT!!! Disney + french pastries...now this combo is DEFINITELY better than PB&J!!!

Fantastic reviews!:thumbsup2 Thanks so much for the DL pics. Someday I'll get there!:goodvibes

Looking forward to more of your super reviews!

Lori, I must say i'm a little concerned...it was almost 6am when you submitted your reply and you're already needing a margarita...i'm concerned that you live on the other side of the country and we can't be best friends!!! :rotfl2:

California Grill is coming right up everyone!!! So hold on to those hats and glasses, cuz this here's the wildest ride in the wilderness!!! :woohoo:

The last time we went there, which was also our first time, we each picked out one pastry. DH went back in for another...and came out with 3 because he just couldn't make a decision! I'm drooling already....

Yummy Yummy Yummy , now to get some lunch ;)

:rotfl: Bobble, PLEASE tell me you'll be doing a Dining TR because I would absolutely LOVE IT!!!! :lmao: And I'm happy to report that you I did NOT consume Remy, however, I did enjoy some of his absolute FAV food EVA!!

Omgosh, I LOVE Aundrea!! She's so cute! I've never been told that, so I hope this is a compliment right???

Hmm a DTR from the Bobble? Actually I have already been thinking about doing one following in your footsteps and theme. Instead of quoting movies and tv I was thinking about 60's and 70's music. Whatcha think of that?

I am still not believing you about Remy. I will have to wait and see if he is still breathing when we go. Yes we leave in 2 days. We are driving, wich means no Disney transpo. :woohoo: which mean no missed ADR's unless of course we pull a Lusha which is very possible since the wife and I have already talked about trying drinks from each of the countries:woohoo:.

I appreciate your take on Les Chef, could have used less talk about the wanker waiter. As if he has anything to do with the food, he doesnt make better or any less sucky if that was the case. give me somemore insight on the snails, I have never had them and I am looking to expand my pallet on this trip and look forward to trying new things.

We will be on the DXDP, so my title for my DR maybe be UGGGGH why didn't I change to regular dining especially after reading Lesha DR?:rotfl:.

Yes it was a compliment. Now carry on.

Oh and a preview of my dining trip.

I know lots of food but I say what the Hell I am on vacation, Right. We also hope to hit some of the attractions while we are there.:dance3:

:yay: We leave for DLR in ONE WEEK! :yay:

And I think you made decent choices at Chefs since you didn't get the Lobster Bisque. Cheese & escargot is hard to pass up!

That's a smart man you got there...definitely a keeper!! :lmao: :thumbsup2

you're too funny, girl!!:woohoo:
BTW, the reflection of the waiter who took your pic WAS very distracting...:rolleyes1

LOL!!!! Wasn't he though?!! :rotfl:

Yummy Yummy Yummy , now to get some lunch ;)

 I know right? As soon as I was done replying to everyone's comments and finished up with my Cali Grill review, I bounced out to lunch!

Hmm a DTR from the Bobble? Actually I have already been thinking about doing one following in your footsteps and theme. Instead of quoting movies and tv I was thinking about 60's and 70's music. Whatcha think of that?

Great Genre! I dig it! Groovy man! :hippie:

Actually, his looks made my meal 10 times better! His appearance definitely added to my dining journey! Maybe you should check out the dancers at Marrakesh, then come back and tell me how your meal was! :rotfl:

And DEFINITELY try the escargot! It's seriously loaded with great flavor and juices! Especially since you're looking to try new and different things! :thumbsup2

CALIFORNIA GRILL RIGHT NOW!!!

This was the night my DH has been waiting nearly 2 years for and he was ecstatic! Monthly, he was checking out Allears to see their updated menu…it became an addiction for him…an addicition that needed no 12 steps or a prescription. “I got a fever, and the only prescription, is more cowbell!” (Christopher Walken, SNL) Well I guess the prescription would be to actually go to Cali Grill, so we did!! :thumbsup2

Our ADR was at 700pm(again, did that so we could catch Wishes at 8!) As most of us know, CG is located at the Contemporary Resort

IMG_1080.jpg

We show up about 15 mins till 7 and they check us in at the podium and send us to the elevators. We arrive on whatever floor it’s on (14th?) and just as we were gonna get us some drinks, our buzzer goes off! Talk about quick, right?

Steven was our server and he was great! Very talkative, just the way I like ‘em! :)

IMG_1081.jpg

He took our drink order; Iced Tea for moi (2.99) and a Heineken for DH (5.75 @ 2)

He explained that everything under the Flatbreads, Sushi, and 1st course counted as an Appetizer except for the Snake in the Grass roll and Yoshi’s Sushi platter.

And we begin…

The Appetizers:

If there’s Sushi anywhere near me, I’m going for it! And I’m not a huge fan of rolls…just give me the protein yo!

Sashimi - Yellowfin Tuna, Salmon and Hamachi ~ 21.00

IMG_1082.jpg

From what I learned down in the OC and LA where Sushi restaurants are on every corner like Starbucks, Sashimi is served room temperature to slightly cooler than room temperature. So when I stick the Salmon in my mouth it was freaking cold! Like shocking cold! I mean, I’m not sure if they were teaching me wrong here in Cali and this is the way it’s supposed to be served, but oh well…it’s still WONDERFUL!!! If I could, I would eat sashimi everyday! Loved it!!! :lovestruc

DH ordered the Yellowfin Tuna Three Ways - Poki, Tartare, and Tataki ~ 23.00

IMG_1083.jpg

Oh my, was it good!!! Every single thing on that plate was heaven! Dh was VERY happy! :worship:

IMG_1084.jpg

And I was happy too!!!

IMG_1085.jpg

The Entrees:

I decided to stick with my fishy friends and got the Spiced Tuna - With Sweet Potato Puree, Mustard Greens, Red Wine Braised Beef Ravioli, Natural Reduction ~ 34.00

IMG_1086.jpg

This dish was amazing!!! :worship: :worship: Everything paired so PERFECTLY together…the sweetness from the puree and the spiciness of the tuna was awesome! And the ravioli…I couldn’t get enough!!! I was in awe of how cohesive this dish was! This was DEFINITELY up there as one of my favorite entrees of the trip guys! This dish was dunzo in about 10 minutes of receiving it! Seriously, I cannot tell you in words how delicious this was. You’re gonna have to go try it now!

DH ordered the Seared Bison - with white corn and mushroom "risotto", turnips, chestnuts, and pinot noir juniper emulsion ~42.00

IMG_1087.jpg

Yup, tastes exactly how it looks folks! DIVINE!!! Yet, another successful dish, complements of California Grill!!! And yes, the bison is partially alive still, but it has to be in order for it to just melt in your mouth….ugghh I’m so HUNGRY RIGHT NOW!!

The Desserts:

Valrhona Chocolate Cake - Warm chocolate cake w/molten center, cappuccino caramel crunch ice cream, sweet whipped cream and coffee caramel sauce ~ 13.00

IMG_1088.jpg

Ugh, why didn’t we order two of these!? And why did we only get one dessert again!? I’m getting so tired of this one-dessert-thing!!! It’s driving me nuts! Anyways, can definitely go for one of these right about now! What’s not to love? Cappuccino ice cream with warm chocolate cake! I mean, cha-ching! I hit the jackpot with this one guys! And you will too if you get this!

For those using the Deluxe Dining Plan, they take 2 credits per person because it’s a Signature restaurant, so it’s 4 credits total.

For those paying OOP, here was our total for 1 iced tea, 2 beers, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, and 1 dessert, with tax = $157.08

Okay so this place is beyond magnificent! Even before making our ADR schedule, DH was asking about coming here for 2 nights during our vacation. I wish I would have listened to him for once…take this quote from Kronks Shoulder Angel from Emperor’s New Groove, “He’s gonna lead you down the path of righteousness…I’m gonna lead you down the path that ROCKS!” Hmm…not sure why I thought this quote was necessary, but I dig it!

Ok…one HUGE plus to the California Grill…WISHES!!!! And they have a huge balcony off to the side of the restaurant where you can stand and watch this glorious production! BEWARE: IT’S FREEZING! Which is why these pictures turned out so blurry…

IMG_1090.jpg

IMG_1093.jpg

Cali Grill is definitely at the top of our list for our next trip without a doubt! If you haven’t been here, there better be a good reason for it…you’re not going to be wasting credits or OOP money with this restaurant people! So listen to Lesha when she says this…”GO!” Haha! Yup, that’s all she wrote!

Oh and here's a very happy and full Lesha after Cali Grill later that evening..

I haven't been to Cali Grill in ages...but I keep seeing people's reports that make it look sooo good. I really must get back! Excellent pictures & review :)

...and we're staying at the Hojo when we go to Disneyland :yay:

Ooh this was such a yummy update!

I love that first pic of the Contemporary! :thumbsup2

Wow, that's great how quick you guys got in!

Oh boy...sushi...I'm drooling over at the screen! :rotfl2: YUM, YUM, YUM!

And geeze, your main meals look so good too! :thumbsup2

And dessert?! Looks SO yummy!

Can you tell I like food? :rolleyes1

Yes you must get back there quick fast and in a hurry!;)

That is one hotel I haven't stayed at yet, but gets rave reviews!! You should be going at a great time too...I found the crowds the past weekend very manageable! Do you have any priority seatings anywhere like Blue Bayou or Storytellers?

Ooh this was such a yummy update!

:rotfl: Okay! ...As a certain someone (can't say his name on here) from Austin Powers says..."Get in my belly!"

Thanks girl. I can't believe the trip is almost here! I hope you will check out my TR for that once I get back. And you should head over to our PTR for the July trip too! :flower3:

BAHAHA!!!:rotfl: Love it!!!

I was checking it out actually!!! You and your fiance are so cute!!! :cutie: Pop is honestly very cool! Clean and comfy, just what you need and really that's all you're gonna need! Not sure if you're taking the buses since you'll have your own car, but the buses were pretty fast for us during the beginning of summer! So that was a big plus! And it seemed to be pretty centrally located (without Magic Kingdom that is, blah) but it never took more than 15 mins to get to MK from Pop!

Oh and FOR SURE I'll be checking out your TR!!! Take LOTS of pics!!! Even though I come back with hundreds of pics, I always seem like there's never enough! :confused3 :lmao:

Will you be doing a Dining TR???

Aw thanks. :)

As you can see, we're DVC members, so we're used to the rooms with bedrooms...living room..kitchen..But since it's just the two of us going and it's such a short trip, we are happy with staying at Pop.

Yeah, we are definately using the buses. They just feel like part of the 'magic' for me.

I will definately take lots of pics!! I don't know about doing a dining TR...I might..who knows. I know I'm going to take pics of the food and stuff and talk about them..so I don't know if I'll just do it in my TR or make a separate dining TR.

Lesha,

I am suprised and somewhat disappointed. Iced Tea. No wine with such a great dinner?

Cali Grill is a Most Def as illustrated by your food porn.

I too will be ordering sushi for an appy. I am a roll guy as I need the starch to surround my slime with extra wasabi to make it right.

When we go to Cali in oh say a week from today. My selections are already picked. They are the Sushi, Oak Seared Filet and the Sweet Celebration to top it off. Your review has made me anticipate this little dinning excursion even more so than I was 15 minutes ago. Thanks.

As far as the pictures of wishes goes. Freezing huh. Did you expect anything different in Jan? I am sure being in the upper atmosphere didnt help the freezing conditions much.

The last picture in your Cali review was a face and smile of a very satisfied person who just had a oscar worthy production of culinary genius in her mouth.

So whats next on the Lesha agenda after Cali Grill?

Beautiful review of California Grille! I love reading reviews of signature restaurants...we don't go to them yet. We're waiting for the kids to get a little older. Right now we are enjoying more of the character meals and non-signatures, and we will enjoy signatures on future trips. We go to WDW every other year so plenty of time to enjoy everything!

The only place we're going to that would normally take 2TS credits (although we're not on the dining plan) is the castle...and that's only because my older son was upset that we didn't eat there on our last trip. I never would have thought eating in the castle would be so important to a little boy! So I promised him someday we will go there...so this summer it is!

On our summer 2012 trip, my little guy will be old enough for the kids' camp so DH and I will choose a fancy place to do a date night one night on that trip! Your reviews are not making it easy to choose!!!! But Cali Grille looks like a definite possibility! Unfortunately they do the Wishes fireworks show at 10PM in the summer, and that's too late for us to eat dinner...can't eat that late at night!
