Someday we will get to Disneyland...we live in NYC and we drive down to Florida for WDW, which is manageable. The plan is to drive across-country when the boys are older (maybe ages 11 and 13, around then), and hit Disneyland! DH and I are both teachers so we have summers off and we plan to do this one day. We're gonna try to stay at Grand Californian Villas with our DVC points. We also have relatives and friends in different states that we can visit. Have a great time!!!

Wow, those pictures from Chefs must be taking DAYS (literally) to load! I bet your eyeballs are popping out of your head by now from staring at the computer screen for days on end. :lmao: As you can tell, I am losing patience! I'm just joking....or am I? :rotfl2:

Come back! I NEED more of your food review. Hope you enjoyed your weekend down here in our neck of the woods or Redwood Creek Challenge trail as the case may be.

Oh have so much fun! You'll have to come back with some reviews of all the places you at at the Land, as well! I'd be excited to hear about those too :)

I did have fun!!! I heart Disneyland!!

How fun, I love DL it is my favorite resort in the whole wide world. Have fun!!

Mine too!!!! :lovestruc

Lesha,

Since you barbarously set your review readers aside so you could take a spur of the moment trip to DL I have decide to give my own review of Chef De France.

So here we go.

We arrived at Chef De France hungry and full of anticipation. We were hungry because we missed our previous meal at the Yachtmen because of our Tequelic adventures and our desire to get our drink on. We were full of anticipation because we wanted to sit down and enjoy a meal with the thought of seeing Remy the famous fur ball of a rat from the famous Disney Movie.

We order our plates, not sure what it was because I do not know the names because Lesha and her unwillingness to review the resturant before she cheated on us and left us out to dry because of her itch to get her Disney fix in at the California park.

When our namesless and tasteless meal was over I ask our waiter if we would get to see Remy. Our waiter went on to tell us that Remy is no longer with us because of a cute little couple, a girl named Lesha and her DH decide to skewer him and cook him using the table provided candles to enjoy some world famous Rat as an entree on their last visit to the World. So no Remy for my 2 yr old Daughter who was really looking forward to seeing Remy on our trip. So no Remy due to the carnivorous exploits of Lesha ended up making our trip incomplete. Our only hope for success on our trip is Nemo providing Lesha didn't get to him too.

We all really hope you had a great time at Disneyland. Our only hope is that you saved some for the rest of us.

I figured it out. has anyone ever told you that you looked like Aundrea from the girl group Danity Kane? Just saying.

:rotfl: Bobble, PLEASE tell me you'll be doing a Dining TR because I would absolutely LOVE IT!!!! :lmao: And I'm happy to report that you I did NOT consume Remy, however, I did enjoy some of his absolute FAV food EVA!!

Omgosh, I LOVE Aundrea!! She's so cute! I've never been told that, so I hope this is a compliment right???

I am loving every minute of your dining reviews!!! I wish the first pics (from p.1-La Cellier) were visable for me!! :confused3

Uggh, I'm sorry...next week the pics will be showing so I hope you'll come back and look at them! FORGIVE ME!

Have fun at Disneyland. I am a DL baby, born and raised! My grandpa even retired from DL in the 70's. I also went to CSULB so add another LB peep to your list!!! Currently, I am temporarily residing in the mid-west (I have been here temporarily for 17 years tho so maybe I should get over it and accept the fact that I am no longer a CA girl :lmao: --NOT)!!

RAISE THE ROOF!! LOL!!

Oh no! You need to get out and come back quick!! You'll always be a Cali girl at heart though for sure!

I can't wait until you return with more reviews! If you eat at the Napa Rose or the PCH Grill I would love to hear a review of those!! I am taking my daughter to CA this summer to visit family and we will be there for her 12th birthday. I am considering taking her out to one of these restaurants!

Napa Rose is WONDERFUL!!! Alas, I did not eat here on this trip, but will here in a couple months! I haven't tried PCH Grill yet, but will soon also! If I go to Napa before you leave, I'll definitely do a review for ya!! Love that place!

Hurry back!!! :woohoo:

Alright, alright...reason #32 why I am doing the DxDDP when we go in 2012...Lesha, what in the H-E-double hockey sticks doing to me?? :thumbsup2

HAHA!!! DxDDP sounds awesome right!? But by the 5th day, you're literally dragging yourself to the restaurants! I felt like everytime we went to the podium after day 5, we were like, "Ugggghhh, crow reservation...for 2...blaahhhh.." LOL!

We always get the basic dining plan - and using 2 table service for yachtsman worked out great.

As for Yachtsman the service was excellent and we received personalized birthday menus for our daughter with her name and her birthday age on the top of the menu, a great little keepsake. (We had booked the ADR on-line and noted that we were celebrating her birthday on the trip and that is where they must have got the information for the memu). The meal was great and some friends of ours staying at the Yachtsman (we were staying at BLT) where able to bring 2 bottles of wine from them room - as Disney will allow you to bring own wine (for a reasonable corkage fee) - better than there wine list prices. And the meals were awesome all were happy with them and the 5 children each had the "puzzle" dessert that they loved decorating and some even ate some of it.

It is now going to be a definite must on next trip when we go back for the Podcast Cruise 2.0.

A definite 10 for us.:yay:

This is marvelous to hear!!! Now I'm really looking forward to Yachtsman! Good idea on bringing your own bottle of wine!!! :thumbsup2

Have fun at Disneyland. :)

Oh, I did!!! A small pic review coming up!

Your someday better come quickly!!! You should be running to your computer right now to make a ressie with GCV's!!! Haven't seen the Villas but have stayed at the GC (standard room and park view room) and LOVE IT!

Omgosh I would LOVE to do that someday!!!!

Absolutely love your review!! when you have time(:cough: ) can you get on with in? Pretty please

:lmao: I know I'm such a slacker!!! I promise I'll start right away!

Wow, those pictures from Chefs must be taking DAYS (literally) to load! I bet your eyeballs are popping out of your head by now from staring at the computer screen for days on end. :lmao: As you can tell, I am losing patience! I'm just joking....or am I? :rotfl2:

LOL!!! Seriously that's how I was feeling last week!!! It was taking literally five mins per pic!!! And I was feeling very let down, like, I shouldn't even be doing this dang dining TR since it's taking way too long...but with a little cursing and waking up earlier when my internet is working better, I was successfully able to upload my pics!! Yay right?! I promise it's coming up right now!

Come back! I NEED more of your food review. Hope you enjoyed your weekend down here in our neck of the woods or Redwood Creek Challenge trail as the case may be.

I'M BACK!!! I hardly ever do the Redwood creek challange!! Maybe next time though, since i haven't done it since I've lived in LB which was almost 2 years ago!

I'M BACKKKKK!!! Yes, back from a glorious trip to Disneyland!!! I uploaded some pics and I'd like to show them to you before I continue on with my Dining Extravaganza! Here we go!!!

Your someday better come quickly!!! You should be running to your computer right now to make a ressie with GCV's!!! Haven't seen the Villas but have stayed at the GC (standard room and park view room) and LOVE IT!

Omgosh I would LOVE to do that someday!!!!

I wish my someday would come soon...but my older son is 5 and the little guy will only be 3 on May 1st!!! We want to take them when they will remember and appreciate it since it is so far away for us (we live in NY), and it will probably be a one-time thing. But DH and I love long road trips, we're both teachers and have summers off with the boys, and I'm sure we will do that trip by the time my little one is 11...but that is in 8 years from this summer!!!

Looking forward to more of your reviews!! Sounds like you really enjoyed the deluxe dining plan! We're getting the Tables in Wonderland card (I'm upgrading my ticket to an annual pass so we can qualify) so we can do more table service places than the basic dining plan allows. We're going to enjoy more table service lunches rather than all CS and relax a bit more. Trying out places like 50s Prime Time, Sci-Fi, Chefs de France and San Angel for lunches. All places we wanted to try but the lunch menus look better to us than the dinner menus! Going to Le Cellier for dinner, and I loved your review of it! DH really wanted that one (even though he usually doesn't care where we eat because he trusts my judgment)...can't wait to try it now!

Glad you had fun at DL!!!

So I decided to tag along on a trip to the DLR with my mom, brother, and his fiance. This trip was originally going to be my brother and his fiance because their annual passes are up at the end of March so they wanted to make one last visit since they're not renewing...Boo!

We only live a little over 3 hours from Anaheim so it's VERY convenient for me! LOL! So we left around 430 and arrived a bit after 8 (made a 30 min stop in Laval for food/bathroom). Saw this!!!

So we go to Rainforest Cafe for a late dinner

IMG_1368.jpg

Yay for drinkies!!!

Next day off to Disneyland!!!

IMG_1369.jpg

And got to see...

IMG_1396.jpg

Can we say 1980's???!!! Holy cannoli the costumes and hairstyles were outrageous!! LOL! But it was fun to watch it...the 3D effects were horrible, but the dancing more than made up for it!!

IMG_1398.jpg

Look how teeny Sleeping Beauty castle is compared to Cinderella's Castle!

IMG_1434.jpg

Don't know why but i've always been so fascinated with Matterhorn Mountain! Have tons of pictures of it for some reason... :confused3

IMG_1445.jpg

Love Tarzans Treehouse! It has great views of New Orleans Square, the River, and Critter Country!

We also headed to Disney's California Adventure!

IMG_1455.jpg

People are so iffy about this park but I so enjoy it!!

World of Color getting ready for this Spring!!!!

IMG_1416.jpg

Bug's Land is my all-time fav land here! The theming is right on! I'm sure that will change when Cars Land comes in though!

IMG_1460.jpg

Watched another fav 3D movie, the Muppets!!

IMG_1465.jpg

So that was my trip in a nutshell

Nope, no drunken nights, no drama from Lesha...pure innocence and fun this trip guys!!! But i'm not promising anything for my next trip!! lol!

No food porn! :scared1:

Thanks for the pics, I'll be there in a little over a month. Can't wait!

Looks like you had a great time. Thanx for sharing, have never seen much picture wise of Disneyland :)

After our crazy filled night of fun and frivolity, we didn’t leave our room until 1140am! (SCARED EMOTICON) And we had a date with Chefs at 1215!!! ARRRGGGH!!! Our bus arrived at Epcot at 1215 and there was no way we were gonna miss this ADR…so like any normal, crazy, Disney guest would do, we ran for it!

(Cue Chariots of Fire music)

We ran through Future World, “Sllloooowwww dooowwwnnn” a CM said to us (In slow motion of course since Chariots of Fire is still playing), and in slow motion I turned around and said, “Chhheeeeeeffffss nnnnooooowwww!!!!” We then proceeded to run through Canada, Eh! And jog through the UK, when we finally saw this beautiful structure

IMG_0887.jpg

We just conquered a Future World and two countries to get here!!! And it only took us about 7 minutes to run from the bus drop off to France! :yay:

Alright Ladies, this country absolutely kills me…DH goes and checks us in while I’m taking some pics of this

IMG_1036.jpg

IMG_1037.jpg

So after I’m done taking pics, I walk up to the podium where DH is and the host says in this sexy French accent, “Oh! You must be Alicia...welcome belle!” I’m completely in love with this guy now!!! Bye bye DH!! :lmao:….sigh….but I’m hungry and DH has the KTTW cards so…yeah…

We get seated immediately (we’ve had the best luck this trip! No waiting whatsoever!) and here is my view

IMG_1039.jpg

Our waiter comes over (so good looking, btw) and offers to take a picture of me and my poor DH (DH knows and will admit that all the waiters in here are all insanely good looking)…

IMG_1040.jpg

Ooh you can kind of see him in the mirror!!!

Alright enough with the chit-chat…

The Appetizers:

I ordered the Cheese plate, of course! ~ 8.95

IMG_1041.jpg

Now, our waiter, J-Christop(that’s what it says on the receipt), was explaining the various cheeses on my plate, but I got so caught up in his accent that I really didn’t care…J-Christop, you can talk to me all day…he probably could have sold me a car and I wouldn't have known! :rotfl: So let me see if I can explain the cheeses myself and maybe you guys can help me out here! Lol!!!

The small round one on top is goat cheese, the one with the white rind is a brie(?), the one to the left is a French swiss, and the other one no idea! But this I do know…the cheese was delish!!!

Dh ordered the Cassolette d'escargots de Bourgogne au beurre persille - casserole of Burgundian escargots baked in parsley and garlic butter ~ 9.75

IMG_1042.jpg

For those that are weary about eating snails, don’t be! They are packed out with so much flavor! And I’ve always heard that they are disgustingly chewy…these were not…mussels are extremely chewy compared to this. Seriously you MUST try these!!! Invite your palate to a new experience…an experience that crawls on the ground and crawls on your house to get out of the rain! :rotfl2: No really though these were awesome, and I would get this next time!

The Entrees:

Dh and I both ordered the Croque monsieur et sa salade verte - the classic French toasted ham and cheese sandwich served with a green salad ~ 12.25

IMG_1043.jpg

If you love cheese, you’ll LOVE this sandwich!!! This is not your brown bag typical ham and cheese sandwich, ladies and gents. This is a one of a kind ham and cheese! There’s cheese oozing from every imaginable part of this sandwich! I mean, look at this! It’s beautiful!! The only thing that could have been a little better, was it couldn’t have been broiled so much, because some parts of the bread were way overdone, so it was too crunchy. Other than that, I loved this sandwich!

The Desserts:

Blah, we shared yet another dessert..I HATE when we do that! Especially since I’m sitting here at my desk freakin hungry right now! Lol!

Creme Brulee - Vanilla creme brulee served with a Madeleine ~ 7.25

IMG_1044.jpg

From my picture, it looks like there’s mold growing on top, but no worries it wasn’t! HAHA! And, yeah, the Madeline already made a trip to my mouth so no shot of that, sorry! But it was another successful Crème Brulee…I kinda wish I would have ordered something else like the Profiteroles or the Crepes, but I was still satisfied with my decision...

Alright so where’s Remy???? :confused3

Yeah, he was there…just never made it over to our table. There were lots of children around so I figured I'll let them have priority..this time ;)…besides I was there for the food…not to interact with a rodent right? Albeit a famous one but anywho….

For those using the Deluxe Dining Plan, they take 1 credit per person because it’s a Table service restaurant, so it’s 2 credits total.
For those paying OOP, here was our total for 2 sodas, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, and 1 dessert, with tax = $60.02

I enjoy Chefs a lot! The wait staff make it even more pleasurable though! I know, I know, I’ll shut up about that now!

Here are some more random pics of France just because I like YOU!

IMG_1051.jpg

Crazy fool, I tell ya!

IMG_1053.jpg

Don't these look divine??

IMG_1052.jpg

Any questions? “Yeah I have a question. Does Barry Manilow know you raid his wardrobe?” (Breakfast Club) Haha!! :lmao:

WOW, you make me sooooo happy that we booked Chefs de France for lunch one day!! My boys would be happy if we could see Remy, but I haven't told them about him possibly being there. I figure, if we don't see him, they won't be disappointed. But if they see him, they will be completely surprised and happy! We really are going there for the food, and it looks amazing! I am wondering how the quiche is there. My DH LOVES escargots, and he is sure to order them in there!

Your DL trip looks awesome too! Yes, the castle looks small compared to Cinderella's castle, but it still looks beautiful!

So, what's next? Come on now, don't make us wait too long! We food porn addicts need our fill each day!!! :lmao:

Thanks for a wonderful update...the pictures are making me drool. We love Chefs de France and always had yummy lunch there. My husband got the cheese platter and I got the escargot last trip and it was really delicious.

Okay, I'm breaking my vow of silence. I saw your pic of the cream puff and just have to point out, that if you're ever in Wisconsin during the summer, hit our state fair and get one of the famous cream puffs. You'll most likely have to wait in line for a while, but I don't know anybody who skips over them (aside from me; cream filling and pastry=gross)

Almost forgot to add that your trip sounds like it was amazing and I'm really left waiting for the next installment. AND, your name, "Leshaface" makes me laugh! My daughter is my Mayceface and most others as well!

How DARE you post pictures from Bou Pat! I love that place. The chocolate croissant is just heavenly. On our trip in October I seriously want to pack tupperware and buy like 6 of them to bring home. I'm not kidding. :lmao:

I've never been to Disneyland, so it was cool to see those pics. I can't believe how little the castle is there compared to WDW!

Haha, I can see you guys running through Epcot to get to Chef's. :rotfl:

I have not been to Chef's before, so it was nice to see pics from there too.

Great Chef's review, your Croque Monsieur looks really good.

Can I have one of those cream puffs, they look divine!
