Well now, isnt this speacial! (Church Lady)

Loved the Tony's review, makes me regret dropping it for a dinner at 1900 P.F. Instead, but we wanted to try Tutto and not overdo the Italian! Will have to put in on the list for next time!

I've never been to Tony's - but it looked really nice!:)

Was it empty apart from you two reprobates?:rotfl: Or did you scare everyone off?

I would love to plan another trip to WDW after this trip to WDW - but it's a long way from Scarborough doncha know!:lmao: Anyway, as the children are getting older this may be the last trip for a while - mind you...we said that about the last trip...and the one before that....

More food please!:surfweb:

Fun reviews so far. We too are trying the DDP in May and oh man I am a little nervous about all that food lol:lmao:

Mmmmm... creme brulee, if it's on the menu I'm ordering it! I was a little worried about a pistachio flavor, but I think you sold me on it being your favorite of the trip. Keep the desserts coming! (oh, and the food too)

Oh the pistachio is so wonderful! You'll totally love it!

Your reviews are fantastic. I work with a guy who also speaks in movie quotes. His favorites are from any Adam Sandler movies or Wedding Crashers.
Btw, we live about 20 minutes from the original Yuengling brewery. When we took my dad to WDW in 2006 many of the CMs were surprised that he could pronounce "Yuengling" correctly. He loves their lager.
Looking forward to reading the rest of your reviews!

No way!! Too cool for school! How far is it from York Pa? We go to York every summer!

For some reason I remember white table cloths on all the tables at Tony's...though I really think I prefer it without them!

yup have no idea...it was nice though not having to fuss with a table cloth now that you mention it!

Another awesome installment, chickie :cool1:

1.) We ate at Tony's in 2005 and it was terrific. There was no one in there when we went at lunch either :confused3 I am not sure why its a 50/50 split when it comes to who loves it and who doesn't, but I am in the top 50 (the ones who like it LOL). Glad you guys had a wonderful experience.

2.) Creme Brulee....ohhh, a girl after my own heart. Love creme brulee. Can't get enough of it.

Can't wait for Narcoossee's!!! popcorn::

Yeah really strange, right? But I was cool with it..no complaints here!

Literally, Creme Brulee is my all-time FAV dessert!! In fact, a have the dishes and the torch at home to make it!! :rotfl: Cuz i'm hardcore like that!

thanks for your tony's review. doesn't sound too spectacular to us (we'll be paying OOP.) now, Brown Derby is sounding better all the time (for when we're on the DDP).

thanks again!

No problemo!!! Glad to help in anyway!!

Thanks for showing all the cuteness that is the interior of Tony's! We didn't eat table service at MK because nothing really stood out as superior food based on DIS reviews, but the cute decor (and my love of Lady and the Tramp) might make it worthwhile. How badly can you screw up spaghetti anyways? :upsidedow (and it sure looked yummy in your picture!)

There is no way in heck, ANYONE can mess up spaghetti...right??? :lmao:

Loving your update. I like Tony's I find it rather quaint to eat in :) Yummy looking Creme Brulee and Strawberries :)

That's a good word for it...quaint..! :thumbsup2

Another great review - especially the S&M :rotfl2:

:rotfl: I totally didn't mean to do that though! Just trying to shorten my typing down, and it came out like that!

Great reviews so far. :)

Can't wait to read more.

Gracias!!! I'll keep them coming!

Great reviews!!! Can't wait for more. We are trying Tonys for the first time after all of our trips!!!:goodvibes

Ooo well enjoy and have fun!!

Have never been to 1900 but here it's pretty good!! Hope you enjoy it! But yes, definitely next time!!

I've never been to Tony's - but it looked really nice!:)

BAHAHAHA! :rotfl2: I think I personally scared everyone off!!

Disney is so addicting isn't it!!?? Ughh...I LOVE IT!

Can't wait to read more!

More coming up! ;)

I am thoroughly enjoying reading this! Keep it coming!

I'm so pleased you like it!!! :woohoo:

Working on Narcoossee's right now everyone! Hang tight! :cheer2:

After an eventful day at MK, we went back to CSR to change and headed off to the Grand Floridian for our ADR at 6:55!

IMG_0754.jpg

Ok, so why is the Grand Floridian so dang beautiful? I mean…come on! Check out this place!

IMG_0788.jpg

Gorg right???

Narcoossee’s is located in a separate building from the main lobby out in the back near the lake.

IMG_0780.jpg

IMG_0784.jpg

IMG_0757.jpg

I was STOKED on eating here! On every TR I’ve read, people have LOVED Narcoossee’s! I was so ready to eat! So let’s get on with it, shall we?!

Oh here's my view:

IMG_0770.jpg

The Contemporary Resort...another beautiful resort

IMG_0765.jpg

The castle!

The Appetizers:

So did I ever tell you guys that I LOVE cheese! Like, love cheese!! For a long time I would order cheese from a factory in Yorkshire because it tasted so dang wonderful…WENSLEYDALE! DROOLING!! Whenever I make tacos or burritos at home, I always shred EXTRA cheese for me! I usually end up eating close to half a block by the time I’m done! Eeekk, right?? Lol! Honestly, the stinkier the cheese, the better! I love strong and pungent cheeses! And I had not ordered a cheese plate as of yet, so what better time then now right??

Artisan Cheeses – Humboldt fog, Cashel Irish Blue, and Tete De Moine ~15.00

IMG_0758.jpg

The accompaniments were so right on! Oh my gosh, I’d pretty much do anything to have that cheese plate in front of me right now… Seriously, if you’re a cheese lover, you’ll love this plate! Just to let you know, the strongest one is the one on the right…BOMB Diggity!

DH had the Prince Edward Island Mussels – parsley patis broth and sourdough toast ~ 16.00

IMG_0759.jpg

I used to get mussels all the time, then my love for them somewhat faded, because every batch I’d get was never good…so I was hesitant on trying them but they were terrific! The broth they were in was so delicious! And there was a whole heap of mussels so 16 bucks is pretty good I think!

IMG_0760.jpg

Haha DH looks very uncomfortable….loosen up will ya??

IMG_0761.jpg

Much better doll face!

Do you see the drinks? That’s right….Yuengling baby!(3@5.75)

The Entrees:

So DH and I ordered the same thing again!! WTFreak is going on??! Twice in one trip we order the same thing!! Craziness is officially occurring! So what did we order??

Surf and Turf – twin medallions of filet mignon, butter poached rock lobster tail, potato gratin, broccolini, and choron sauce ~ 2 @ 59.00

IMG_0766.jpg

So the Turf portion was delectable!! Cooked medium, just the way I like it! I don’t usually like any type of sauce on my steak, but this sauce was psycho good! I was definitely Miss Piggy tonight!

The Surf portion was….hmmm…not what a lobster tail should taste like at all! So disappointed! It was rubbery, dry, tough and not buttery tasting at all like how it should taste! Haha have you ever seen National Lampoons Christmas?? When they are eating the disgusting turkey and all you hear is them trying to chew the dang stuff??? :rotfl: Bingo! That was our ‘turkey’ right there and hubbo agreed with me….

We found out later that the dish to get here is the Whole Maine Lobster dish and not the Surf N Turf...oh well! Next time right??!!

But wanna see what made up for my Surf???

IMG_0767.jpg

IMG_0768.jpg

(A little blurry, but you get the idea!)

EEKKKK IT’S WISHES BABY!

So if you show up around the time that Wishes starts (which was 8pm for us), you can either go stand outside on their patio or watch it from your table! They do dim the lights though so seeing is a problem! It was amazing!

So after our glorious show, it was time for desserts! DESSERTS!!! (Lilo, Lilo and Stitch)

The Desserts:
For me – Almond Crusted Cheesecake with wild berry sauce ~ 8.00

IMG_0771.jpg

YUMMO!!! Again…SCRUMPTRALASCENT! And the fresh whipped topping was soooo good! Didn’t try that chocolate pyramid but I’m sure you can eat it…
DH – Ozark Apple-Pecan cake – Vanilla bean whipped cream, caramelized apples, and poached cranberries ~ 7.00

IMG_0772.jpg

Our waiter suggested it to DH since nothing was appetizing to him…then I offered to “pick out something for him” LOL! And he said hell to the no I’ll find something!! :lmao: So he went with the waiters suggestion and it was delightful!

For those using the Deluxe Dining Plan, they take 2 credits per person because it’s a Signature restaurant, so it’s 4 credits total.

For those paying OOP, here was our total with 3 alcoholic beverages, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, 2 desserts, and tax: $193.04

So what did we learn here today my fine friends?
1) Just say no to the Surf and Turf! Yes, it’s the same price as the Steamed Whole Maine Lobster and you don’t get filet mignon with it, but seriously, you’ll thank me!
2) Do try to get an ADR around 530-8 (depending on what time Wishes starts)…just adds so much more to your meal!
3) Cheese, Gromit!!! (Wallace and Gromit) Never heard of them?? Check them out! Too cute!

Will we be back? YES! How else am I gonna try the Whole Maine Lobster?? I’m not gonna allow the gnarly lobster tail to make this restaurant a no-no for me! This restaurant is too magnificent to cross of our list of regulars…”I just can’t do it Captain!! I don’t have the power!” (Jim Carrey, Ace Ventura when nature calls)

Till next time, peace out peeps! :hippie:

I'm a late joiner! popcorn::

It's funny how much your DH likes Yuengling! We live in PA not too far from where it's made...at america's oldest brewery! My next door neighbor sits on his deck and drinks it all summer I don't know how he doesn't get sick of it!

I'm orginially from PA too. I just looked up where the factory is and I spelled Yuengling right without even checking ;) Looks like it's about 1.5hrs from York.

Hi! I'm subscribing to this thread...awesome job so far!!! :thumbsup2

"So did I ever tell you guys that I LOVE cheese! Like, love cheese!!"

Me too!

"Do you see the drinks? That’s right….Yuengling baby!(3@5.75)"

I think it's really funny how excited you get about Yuengling (don't get me wrong, it's a great beer!) but I went to college in PA (Bucknell) and it was everywhere!

"The Surf portion was….hmmm…not what a lobster tail should taste like at all! That was our ‘turkey’ right there and hubbo agreed with me…."

Awesome, that is one of our must-watch X-Mas movies every year!

"3) Cheese, Gromit!!! (Wallace and Gromit) Never heard of them?? Check them out! Too cute! "

I am a huge Wallace and Gromit fan myself!

Just read through the whole thread..I'm adding Kona and Artist's Pointe to my list for next trip. We would like to go to Narcoossee's again too; we ate there when my daughter got married in 2005. Brown Derby is one of our favorites, and we usually eat there every trip. You can add us to the list of Tony's fans..we've eaten lunch there several times and have always enjoyed it.
Can't imagine how much weight I'd gain on the DxDDP..think I'm putting on poundage just reading this report.:rotfl:

Another food porn update WOOT WOOT!!! :yay::woohoo::yay:

1.) Cheese freak...yeah, I know the feeling. Had the cheese plate at Chefs de France and let's just say, I fell in love with a very smelly goat cheese that I had to fight DH over (Lesson Learned: Get two cheese plates).

2.) Picture of Almond Crusted Cheesecake...cue some Barry White...oh yeah... :rotfl: I am dying here! I so want the cheesecake!!!

3.) Mental note: Take advice, go for the whole Maine lobster...check, check. Narcoossee's is on our list for our next trip. :)

Thanks for the mouth-watering photos, girl! On my way to Cheesecake Factory now :woohoo:

Chatori! Ok I have absolutely no idea how to spell it but if you sound it out you'll see I am trying to say Hi in farci! My bestest friend in the whole world is iranan so I have learned a little hear and there. I am loving your trip report. Your too funny! We are going to narcoosees in June and was totally planning on ordering the surf and turf. What if I get the whole maine lobster and it taste like yours? Yikes I will have nothing to eat! What to do!:confused3

Subscribing. :yay: Just found your reviews. Great pics. I'm so glad you liked AP. We have ADR's for the first night of our May trip. Just like you I haven't read much about it but loved the variety on the menu. We are Narcoossee fans too. I am getting excited thinking we can almost start our trip count down. :woohoo:

Hello, Thread Poster Leshaface!

I'll admit here to occasionally being a food porn cruiser. . .;) Just wanted to say your thread is one of the most entertaining reviews I've come across in awhile. . .I nearly fell out of my chair reading about the mysterious guy in blue coveting your 'glowing alcohol' at the Brown Derby. . . :rotfl2:

Well written and fun. . . heading out to WDW in 4 days. . .(as long as the East Coast pending snow storms don't ground us!) . . .will subscribe here so I can read the rest as it comes in!!!!

Thanks for some 'get-psyched-seein'-Mickey-soon' entertainment!

Yay for Wallace and Gromit we just had a marathon session over Christmas.

I am with you on the cheese, I had some stinky cheese stinking out my fridge out so I ate it. Fridge doesn't stink anymore, I am a bit whiffy  Very naughty as it was on the banned pregnancy list...... ah well it hasn't stopped me eating anything so far. Millions of French people can't be wrong I say.

Now my concern for a whole lobster would be if they can feck up a tail whats to say they won't feck up my whole lobster and when I have ordered that I don't even have the nice meat eat as a replacement.

Kirsten

The GF is just gorgeous, we hope to stay here one day for our Disneymoon.

Have been looking forward to your Narcoosee's Review. We are trying it for the first time this year.

Everything looked great what you ordered, although I will bear in mind your views on the surf and turf. For someone that has never had lobster before would you still recommend getting the Maine Lobster? Love the pic of DH eating the muscles, priceless pics :)

Coming from England I totally get the Wallace and Gromitt reference and it explains your love of Wendsleydale :rotfl2:

Great reviews. :)

I'm loving your references to Yuengling beer too. When my kids were at Penn State they lived so close to the Yuengling brewery that they could see it from their kitchen window. :goodvibes
