No I don't expect you would get offended to easily. I have been reading your responses to DH. I think he is looking forward to the dismeet as well. Although the kids are still razzing me about meeting "stranger". I suppose with all the years of warning them not to give private info out on the internet in their younger years, they have the right to razz me.

I suspect it will be EPIC. I hope I can talk my older kids into just bouncing in for a little while, but we will see.

I to don't like wishing my life away. One minute I am wishing August get here. The next NO, then my baby will be going back to school. I want to enjoy this part of the summer to. Then, I'm off again wishing the summer away. One day at a time. I am looking forward to meeting everyone.

Now, off to work a little more on my DIY. They are taking longer than usual, but part of that is because I have to do it behind closed (sneaky) doors. But, I will keep plugging away on them. Then I will post pictures.

So, my dear friend D~'s post tells me I am at the 45 day mark!!
The heat is stiffling here. We are at 91 degrees real temp, but they are saying it feels like 103 due to the humidity. All I know is it is HOT! We don't have a/c in the main living area of the house, only in the bedrooms, so I am trying to keep the use of electronics to a minimum.
I spent some time lamination the DIY's and they are nearly complete. I am happy with a couple of them. I only use microsoft word 2007 version, so what I can do is limited. But, everyone seems to enjoy them, and I enjoy them enjoying them.
I am trying to think what else I can do.
I plan on finishing them tonight,. then taking a picture of them after DD is sleeping.

I hope you all had a nice July 4th. Ours was laid back, DH works alot of hours around & on the 4th. When he got home we ate, then took a ride down to the beach where we watched fireworks all along the shores across the water.

So, you all remember how I said I couldn't do a ticker? Well, all of you talking about how many days had gotten me wishing I had one. So... I figured something out....

Since the concern was that DD#2 would notice the ticker & figure we have a trip planned.... I figured tag it as a birthday count down for HER!!! Why didn't I think of this before. Only problem is, 45 days sounds so close, but 1 month, 2 weeks and whatever it is days sounds so long. I want an hourly count down.

okay, off to take pictures of my diy's. BTW, don't get high hopes. they are little things.

OOPS These are NOT luggage tags. Well... these are bookmarks. The reverse side are either the exact same as the front, or just a faded color to match one of the front colors. Next up...luggage tags...I hope. haha

First up. Mine & DH luggage tags. Me....well I am.....



Tweedle Dee (get it... I'm Dee so, stands to reason)

And Dh is of course............. Tweedle Dum (get it...he's Dumb so.. no, no no, bad Dee.) He has agreed to the luggage tag , but refused when I said we were going to have the same theme on everything. So, everyone gets a mix of characters. Couldn't spoil just him.

So, as you have probably figured out. The front of the luggage tag has a character image. The back has name, address, phone & resort the owner is staying at. I won't bother to show you the backs. They are the same as the previous one posted.

So, below are the rest of our family & of course DDBF:




The top Stitch & Angel is DD#1(22yrs), Flynn is for DS#1 (22 staying short visit), Kermit is for the newly graduated DS#2, Brave is for the birthday girl, and Lilo & Stitch is for DDBF (23), then of course Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum. Between us, I may do a different one for DH. He is usually pretty easy going, but I think he would rather be considered my prince charming rather than the Dum to my Dee.

IMO the worse part of this is cutting them after they are laminated. But, that is all done now. All I have left to do on these & the bookmarks is to hole punch them & ribbon/string them.

Next up.... goodie bag tags.

Lastly, the goodie bag tags. I had never done these type of tags before. I enjoyed learning how. My DD helped me figure this out. It took us a while, but we finally figured it out.

One side has the image. The other has the name. But, so that the name was represented properly it had to turned upside down & flipped to be like a mirror image. You can only see 1 name but, it gives you the idea. I haven't done one of these for myself or DH because we usually just share one, and it is usually just what is left over from the other goodie bags. I will probably end up doing one for him & we will just share the goodies. That will be after I finish the goodie bags themselves. So, without further a due...




I had planned on doing the Jungle Book for everyone. Until all of my kids said they don't like that movie. (who's kids are they???). DDBF however LOVES that movie, so he gets the "bare necessities" bag. The birthday girl will get Brave, DS#1 will get one of the Phineas,Ferb with superheros, and the other two I am not sure of. I think DD#1 will get the other, and DS#2 will get the Flynn Rider with Rapunzel one. (he originally asked for Flynn as his character, but DS#1 had already requested it. So, I thought this might be a good compromise. DS#2 gets this Flynn, while DS#1 gets the luggage tag.

Now, I will leave you with this. DH, myself & DD(the little one- thanks Ruthie), went to Toys R Us tonight. WE had a wonderful time. And I have pictures to post. But, will need help from my kids, because they are on my new phone and I don't know how to upload them to my computer . But, I think they will be worth the wait.
