What is the age for swimming with sharks?

I believe if you can stand and are potty trained - I did not see a minimium age or height restriction.

According to my Birnbaum book kids must be 10, but I know kids younger do it. My opinion is they need to know how to swim. I think if they realize it is very cold water, it is deep, you can't dive down, you must propel without kicking and yes, they are real sharks.......and you don't think they will panic (I've seen that alot) they should be okay.

Well, that stinks...I didn't think there was an age limit. My stepdaughter will NOT be happy that she's not old enough. When my stepson and I were picked for the dolphin show at SF Marine World, she was terribly upset because she wasn't old enough to participate. Here I've been telling her about getting to swim with the sharks at Typhoon Lagoon and now learn she can't??!! Ugh......

My son was 7 at the time and there were 2 younger girls in front of us (I'd guess about 5-6) and they all went in. As long as they can swim and seem confident about doing it, there is no problem. BTW, my 7 year old who I thought would LOVE it, didn't like it at all. His response "I just don't like big fish that close "

We were at Typhoon Lagoon in June and there were little kids on these blow up floating things with clear plastic bubbles that little kids in life preservers were laying on and looking through in the shark pool. They were being pulled by parents and seemed to be having a wonderful time.

My son swam with the sharks when he was 6 and I didn't see anyone panic that day. You swim above them and they are pretty far below you and they are small sharks
