Is it true? MEK may be finally joining us on FB?!?! Michelle...you're next!
Okay....all caught upI was cracking up over all of the press I got for harassing ME and Michelle about FB!!!
So glad to see it has worked on at least one of my subjects...now to just get Michelle to cave

Joe and I have done Peter Pan, but I don't recall ever bringing Henry on it - due to the lines. It wasn't a favorite for Joe or I, so we've just skipped it.
1) Resort Hop
We love to explore the other resorts! High on my list for this trip is Pop and the All Stars. I know Henry would enjoy seeing the large characters. Plus, the food courts there are amazing!
We also really enjoy resort hopping! It's a great way to pick out where to stay next!
5) Campfire at Fort Wilderness with Chip & Dale
This is VERY HIGH on the list! We will be doing this while we are at BLT, taking the boat right over to Fort Wilderness, grabbing dinner at the CS, playing on the playground and wandering around the area until the campfire and sing-a-long starts. I haven't figured out what night we'll do this, but once I do, it will be going on the agenda as a solid plan, I really don't want to miss out on it!
I don't think there is a CS at Fort Wilderness.I know about Trail's End, which is the buffet type thing. Then I believe there's like a snack stand around the fire area that serves hot dogs, but that's about it. I'd also love to visit Ft. Wilderness sometime!
9) Boat ride from DTD to POR
And then explore POR. I've heard, more than once, this is a wonderful boat ride.
So tell me, what are your favorite out-of-the-parks activities? Have you done anything on my list - what did you think of it? Any other ideas?
about HM. I've honestly been scared to ride it....I hate ghosts and haunted things. I ride ToT because the trill at the end is worth the suffering. But I seriously wigged my first ride on it!!! Many people here have reassured me it's more fun than scary, and I have meant to brave it the past two trips but haven't! Not on a purpose, but i forget about it!
. I have it on my notes this time though, it will get done!!!! Losing DVC is a good incentive.

For American Idol we really enjoyed. I did not care if we saw it or not, but after going I am glad we did and would go again. Our good friends saw their "winner" from Hollywood Studios audition and get a golden ticket a few weeks ago, which is cool.
Pool hop wise my girls loved the Poly. The zero entry is fantastic, and the beach was fun to watch the water pageant at too! We have tried lots of pools at Disney and that might be #2 to Beach Club!
Up to 2 people can fit in one, so you would probably have to rent 2 so one would have their own boat and one would share with Henry.
I'm pretty positive Joe could drive one even without a license because the minimum age to drive one is 12 years old(though naturally at that age an adult would sign a release). He just needs to show an ID proving he's over 18.When we booked our vacation package we got a rental discount, don't know why or if that would apply to you. But honestly, I would go out of my way to do it and am considering making it a trip tradition regardless of where I stay.
If you do it you MUST let me know how you and Joe liked it! They are lots of fun to drive, not the fastest but fast enough to enjoy. If he's really into that you could consider renting the jet skis too? We did that as well which was fun, but we were sectioned off to a small portion of the lake.
Thanks for the suggestions! Definitely going to try some pizza and I've never been to Central Park, so that'll be a must do! And I hadn't even THOUGHT of Ground Zero, never have been there! Would be really incredible to see that. And yes - she's in the upper East side!
I know that MEK...aka future FB participant has both pool hopped and yee hawed with Bob.
I would be very into pool hopping if staying at a monorail resort...otherwise it seems like too much of a hassle
The campfire and possible pony ride for Henry sounds like a lot of fun....it will be such a relaxed pace for you to be able to see all of these other sides of the resorts etc.
Yes Jet Blue offers Terra Blue (blue) potato chips. I really like them....the Terra brand also has other types of chips...I remember one having beet, parsnip, sweet potato in the bag. Some of them tasted really...ummm earthy![]()
Tracy
DHS is always the worst park for restaurants. I bet Henry would like the Sci Fi, though. He would be cute sitting in the car.
At Magic Kingdom, I like the cookies from the Prairie Outpost and Supply. It's fun to get a cookie while waiting for the MSEP in Frontierland.
OOooh a possible meet up on the 7th at DHS?! I could be down with that!!
I am soaking up all of your ideas!! Love them, especially things like watching Wishes from the Poly beach. We really want this trip to be slower paced and do things my dad and his SO will enjoy and I think resort hopping, ending on the beach for fireworks would be a big hit!![]()
Ahhh Mini Golf at Disney. This is definitely a family favorite. All 3 courses are so much fun but I think my personal favorite is Fantasia Gardens. The theming is so much fun with lots of little surprises. That said, it is also the hardest of the 3 golf courses. Henry might do much better at Winter/Summerland. Of those two I prefer the summer side.
Sounds like you have a great trip planned. The DIS meet should be fun for all.
We love to go to Hoop-Dee-Doo at Fort Wilderness - you will have to try it out sometime. The whole family laughs the entire time. We have never done the campfire - will have to check it out.
Brook! You're moving so fast over here I can barely keep up!!
Peer pressure is a very bad thing
Oh gosh Brook, it pains me to read this! Peter Pan is my Dumbo, it just screams Disney to me. A trip would not be complete without at least one flight over Neverland!
Now for your updates: DHS, I'm totally no help when it comes to food in this park. There is just nothing there that is very exciting to me. The dessert case at Starring Rolls does look really good, but I've never gotten anything from there...
A word of warning, the Animation Academy can become very addicting!I'm not sure if they have started doing this all the time or if it was just last time, but when we tried to enter through the gift shop (like Pat told you to do), we were turned away and told it was an exit only. You can skip the film though just by going into the entrance labeled 'character meet & greets only'. But, if you haven't seen the film with Mushu, it's actually pretty cute and it doesn't last very long.
I can't wait to hear what you guys think of the campfire sing-a-long with Chip & Dale. I've had that on my list so many times but we've never been able to fit it in!
We've done both mini golf courses and had a lot of fun at both of them. Winter/Summerland seemed to be the 'easier' of the two courses so you might keep that in mind for Henry![]()
Resort hopping is always fun. I think the only other thing we've ever done on your list is play mini golf. You know we love playing! If you do manage to fit it in I think you'd probably enjoy Winter Summerland more with Henry. It just seems a little more kid-friendly (not to mention the courses are easier!).
You'll have to let me know about the boat ride from DTD to POR. I really want to do that on our trip, maybe the day we get there since we don't arrive until late afternoon.
Did I read right that you weren't sure quite where the Animation Academy is located? If you do, then disregard the rest of this and maybe it will help someone else!
To start out you enter into that little outside waiting area where you can wait for the film. At that point the CM will wave you through a separate line if you want to skip the film. We did that. Then you enter into where Sorcerer Mickey, Incredibles, etc. meet and greets are. The animation academy is on the upper level. You know where the Incredible's meet and greet area is? If you're standing looking into that area, over to your right are some benches. (You go past them as you exit the building) That's the waiting area for the Academy. Sit your butts right down there and wait - classes are every 20 minutes (I think). Inside there's only so many tables/stools, but they have lapboards for overflow (you sit on the floor up front with those).
Hope that helps you out!
All the extra things you have planned sound like so much fun! Fun to explore the "extras", and with two weeks there's more freedom to do those things.
I don't think there is a CS at Fort Wilderness.I know about Trail's End, which is the buffet type thing. Then I believe there's like a snack stand around the fire area that serves hot dogs, but that's about it. I'd also love to visit Ft. Wilderness sometime!
We took the boat from DTD to POFQ, walked around, then walked to POR and looked around there. We took the boat back to DTD when we were done. It was a lovely ride and we also really enjoyed looking around the resorts. We'd love to stay there someday!
It's not that scary. I also don't do well with ghosts and haunted house type things. But this is really not scary at all. My main thing is that it's REALLY dark. I can't see very well in the dark, so it's a little annoying. Nothing jumps out that I can recall. And, if worst comes to worst, you can just close your eyes!
Also, I was on the bus with my friends going bowling the other night. I mentioned the SHAMROCK SHAKE and the bus driver piped up with, "Oh, it's the minty green McDonald's shake."ALL of my friends looked at me like this:
None of them have EVER tried it! I told them I was disowning them as friends until they fixed that situation.

Sounds like fun... I had to tell you that my husband calls all of my crazy planning my "clipboard of fun," and he doesn't mean it in a cute, cruise-director sort of way.![]()
I think POR has the Magic Cookie Bars too. LUCKY JOE! If I would have know how good they were I would have used the rest of our snack credits on a bunch!
Out of park stuff.......Wilderness Lodge has a trail that goes all the way to FW and we walked along that one day. My hubby went off the trail and further along and found some caged chicken shack that said something about a virus study!!! It was like straight out of LOST and the Dharma InitiativeHe even took a picture! I think it's in my PTR??
Hope you get to golf....we have wanted to do that too and always ran out of time.
We love to play mini golf. Boys always enjoy doing that.
I like your out of parks activity list.
I will confess, mini golf is still on my list to do. Sea Raycers too.
As for AA in DHS I think I went in through the gift last Oct? but being alone maybe they did not see me??
I generally look around anyway so maybe I just waited until the coast was clear.![]()
First, your day at the Studios sounds great!
Second, LOVE mini-golf at Disney. Like everything else Disney, it is great. We love both Fantasia and Winter Wonderland (Winter Wonderland is a little easier than Fantasia). Be sure to take lots of pics as there are many great photo ops at the golf courses.
You know I approve of the resort hopping. That's one of my favorite things to do. Henry will love the icons at the values, especially so at Movies and Sports, probably.
He'll also enjoy seeing the horses. The pony ride was pretty short and no big exciting thing, but still fun. Seeing inside the big barn was definitely cool.
We have not done the campfire, although it is has been on our list of things to get to, and the same goes for mini-golfing. We keep talking about those things, but they have gotten shoved aside so far. We will get to both of those activities eventually.
I think you asked about PP earlier. We usually go straight to Dumbo, then we go to PP next and ride once or twice.
Okay...weird...last trip we just walked in and saw the characters - I didn't see anything else. Hmmm....are the characters in one building and the film across the little outside waiting area? I didn't even realize there was an upper level - or see those benches either and we were right there next to the Incredibles! This does help though and make sense! I know what to look for, thank you!
Finally caught up on your last TR and now onto this PTR!
Make sure at BLT you do lots of fireworks watching from the Top of the World lounge!!!!!
For other out of park activities when you're at the boardwalk I reccommend Fantasia mini golf and doing the other one maybe when you flip over to BLT. We did Fantasia gardens and we took a bus to the Dolphin and walked over but with being so close at BW it'd be the best time!!
Also I did the hot air balloon at DTD and it was pretty reasonable priced and ALOT of fun.. it also was breathtaking and as a disney lover such as we are it was amazing to see everything I got kinda teary being in the arms of my man and looking out at everything ahh getting misty eyed now!
The last idea is you are in the world on Mardi Gras and I read that POFQ does a bit of a celebration may be worth seeing or checking out since you love resort hopping.
Can't wait to hear more plans!!!!
The Incredibles are on the "upper level" and Mickey, Lotso/Characters from UP, and the little computer stations that you can do different things are on the "lower level"... You walk in from the museum area on the upper level and exit out to the gift ship on the upper level as well. When you're looking at the Incredibles area, to the right there's stairs that go down to the computer stations that tell you what type of Disney Character you are. On the other side of the stairs is where you find the couple of benches where you wait and the door that you go in. I wonder if I can find a picture... or better yet, maybe Robo has a map!![]()
I think the pony ride was like $5.
