Two weeks to go and I'm bored now

I know the feeling! 25days out for us!! Cannot wait!!!

I find myself beging to plan for 2012 since I have nothing left to plan and dont want to keep tweeking the current plan cuz then I re-do everything :lmao:

Right now I am trying to shift into cleaning, laundry & packing mode.
  • Tomorrow we will be doing all the laundry and I am going to start setting some of our clothes aside for the trip so they dont have to be washed again and I can pack quicker.
  • Then we will start cleaning the house from top to bottom
  • Double, Triple check the Packing list and buy anything else we need so Then I can pack!!!
  • Check-in online, Double check flights and Itenerary's
  • Make sure everything is completed and comfirmed, and off we go!!!
25days to go

put aside $50 - $100 if you can in your budget, and plan what you'll secretly buy and ship home for each person in your family, as a surprise gift that will arrive a few days after you get home. Even if it's just a special disney drinking cup/glass for each person, or a pen/paper set, etc.

I always ship my own items home as soon as I buy them, but I haven't done it for the kids because they always want their stuff right then (but of course, I'm buying myself kitchen towels). Maybe I'll surprise the kids next trip too w/ a surprise 'after we're home' gift.

and yes, you *are* pathetic w/ your planning :rotfl: (but in a good way) ;)

and as someone else said, clean the house really good right now. Nothing like coming home to a clean house!

I'm feeling the SAME WAY! I just want to get to Disney! We leave in 3 weeks and the days are dragging.

I sympathize. We don't go until Oct. and I'm literally twiddling my thumbs. UGH! :surfweb:

Our trip is in 5 days, and here is what we have been doing to make the time pas:
  • I added an extra workout every week to get ready for the trip. Makes me too tired to be bored!
  • We are watching Clone Wars episodes to prepare for SWWs.
  • We went to see the new Pirates movie last night. Loved it!
  • We saw the following Disney gems: Corpse Bride, Lilo and Stitch, Toy Story marathon.
  • This weekend I am cleaning the house/laundry/planting flowers/packing/and next week I am working out every day after work, so I won't even have time to breathe, let alone be bored!

Have you updated your plans with the new park hours? We are going same time as you and the park hours were just extended. They haven't changed the crowd calendar, YET.

I am also re-reading the Imagineering Field Guides which is a good pre-trip refresher for "the little things".

Where do I find the new extended hours?

I have the times from May 13th. I don't have anything more recent.

I was just visiting my aunt for a week and it was two weeks before HER trip and she was feeling the same way. It was so close but there was NOTHING left for her to do. I brought her a copy of the Unofficial Guide to help her pass the time. :)

we're going in a couple of weeks and this week I have to finish my shopping:

-get glow sticks for the evenings
-pick up mister fans
-pack my medicine/first aid kit
-take the family for haircuts
-print out EPCOT passport books from DISigns
-get pennies and quarters from bank for pressed pennies, print out list of locations

What about getting a small first aid kit to take to the parks? Getting everything for your park bag, getting travel size things, making sure that you have plenty of all medications especially things like Advil, Imodium, Tums, etc. make sure you have moleskin for your feet. What about making lists for your dining plans? I downloaded an app for my iphone where I could put all of my reversation numbers along with menus

I love this thread! :grouphug: Finally, some folks as crazy as I am.

I know you said you have your packing lists, but have you started packing? We're a week away (leave Saturday) and I started packing this weekend.

I've also started doing 2-3 mile runs in Atlanta heat (at around 80ish degrees) to help me get acclimated to Orlando weather. Call me crazy, but I've also been driving the kids with the windows rolled down (yup, to get them acclimated).

We started today a scrapbook based on our last vacation. I had bought everything I needed for it. We've been going through the pics of our last vacation. Helping set us in the mood.

I'm a week out and I have been reading the Kingdom Keeper books to help me pass the time. I know they are geared tward younger readers, but I'm really enjoying them!

Well, after so many trips to WDW...I do things a little differently. When I find myself in your situation...I try NOT to think about WDW at all! After months of planning and getting everything ready I can feel a little burnt-out or bored with WDW by the time we get there (if I am not careful). I intentionally will try not to think too much about any of it so that when we arrive, I feel a little surprised by my own plans that are tucked away in my purse!

Which app is that? I'm obsessing too and that sounds like something I would love to use on my phone.
