Two rooms....

Not sure where to ask this, so I figured I'd try here since I visit this board most.

I'm planning a trip in Sept. of 2011 for me, DS, and my two nieces. I know things will go much better if the kids aren't together all day and all night. My question is, can I get two rooms at Pop Century and let my nieces (they will be 17 and 15) have one room while DS and I take the other? I'm just unsure because my oldest niece will be about four months away from 18 (so technically underage). Will this be allowed if both rooms are in my name? I can't seem to find the answer to this anywhere. Thanks to anyone who can help

My husband and I were in one room, DD17 & DS15 in the other. Both reservations were in my name, and no one questioned me. Best trip ever!!

I would ask on the resorts board. But I believe this would not work... because you need someone 18 or 21 in each room (I forget which age) and you cannot be double booked in 2 rooms. You could book the all star music family suite and let them use one of the "rooms" while you use the other

I thought about this, but I don't think the family suite is included in the free dining promotion. The free dining QS will save us about 130 dollars per day, plus the family suite is more expensive than two rooms.

You can easily book one parent in one room and the other parent in the other and sleep where you chose. We have done this on cruises, etc. No one does a bed check at night.

I agree with this. OP didn't mention a 2nd parent tho... OP, do you have a 2nd adult?

No, it's just me and the three kids. If we can't stay in two rooms, we'll stay together. I'd just like to give everyone a bit more privacy.

This sounds exactly like what I want to do. I don't see why they would care as long as I am willing to take responsibility for both rooms.

I booked adjoining rooms, wonder if that is where the difference is? No one questioned me when I booked them. Didn't know you couldn't have 2 rooms. Seriously, no one ever questioned anything. I booked over the phone directly with Disney.

Just make the reservation for adjoining rooms, I don't see a problem.

I'm going to book adjoining rooms also. I still want to be close to the girls, but I know things will be 1000% more peaceful if they have their own space in the evenings. Either way though, we will be at WDW, so we'll have a good time regardless of the rooms.

You want connecting rooms, not adjoining.

They may request ID for the "adult" in the second room. From what I understand, you can't book 2 rooms in one name.

We wanted 2 rooms at POP and they needed an adult for each room. They listed me in one room with one kid and DH in one room with 2 kids. That's the only way she would do it

This past July, I booked connecting rooms for me, my DS (5) and my DD (then 17). The room was under her name, but still kinda under my name as well. They had no problem with her being under 18 and in her own room.

I had to do that because I knew she would be up late watching tv or on her computer. My DS and I would be going to sleep early, so it was the best choice.
