Forgive me if this is the wrong forum.

On a trip in 2013 there were some major problems with our trip and for the first time I contacted DVC after our trip. I very nice person listened and apologized and gave us a 2 night comp room at the same level as we were on our trip (2 nights, lake view, 2 bedroom) I was surprised and thankful.
Fast forward....trip this june with extended family to show off DVC. Sun-Wed. DVC points BLT-2 bdrm, lake view then what I thought was genious...Wed-Fri Comp room BLT-2bdrm, lake view.

Now the problem, the comp room is not with DVC at all, I have to make seperate phone calls for everything, adr, fast passes because they are not associated with each other.
The reservations were supposed to be "linked" as they said but now I find I might have to check out that Wed. and check back in to possibly a different room. I am so bummed to have to do this as this was our down day and we wanted to use the room for lunch, changing for pool and enjoying the resort.
For those who might have had something similair (staying in the same resort under the same persons name etc ) and have either moved or not moved I would love to hear the outcomes.

I might have to change all our plans to prepare that the Wed. might need to be a park day and therefore change all ADR and fastpasses... :headache::headache::headache::headache: Major disney planning fail!!

It sounds like DVC pulled your comp days from the inventory of the points that were pulled back from CRO. I would call, e-mail, or chat with DVC and request the two resrvations be linked, ASAP. Also, put a "Continuing Reservation" note on both reservations of the other reservation number, so that the room assigner CM knows that you would like to stay in the same room.

Thanks com_op_2000- DVC CM was not very helpful and said they can't link due to different reservations at different places. However when I called the regular resort CM from MDE to go over my online check in she was awesome and made all of those notations...not sure why DVC didn't offer to do that for me. I have a direct extension for a DVC CM that I love at home (I am at work and don't have it ) so I will call back and make sure they have that info on the DVC ressie also. This DVC was sort of a dud...funny I didn't get the survey after my call like usual!! LOL

The key here is to have each reservation note the other continuing reservation so the room assigner knows to have you stay in the same room. You may need to go to the front desk for a paper check out/check in and your housekeeping schedule will probably get screwed up so plan to deal with that issue.

On a side note we don't show off the DVC anymore after having issues with our guests present. Icing on the cake was when BIL made the comment, "how much did you pay DVC for this mess".

:earsboy: Bill

As mentioned, have the continuing reservation noted on both reservations. Sometimes certain CM's have issues understanding what you want if different language is used - not great but it is what it is. Linking or combining reservations is a whole different thing and if DVC did not pull this is points inventory then that can't be done and the CM might have just stopped thinking about it there.

But - most importantly - at check in confirm with the front desk that they have you staying in the same room. You will probably have to stop at the front desk on the day the reservation changes and check out and back in but it's extremely unlikely you'd have to move.

I agree.

This was helpful info. I booked one night with my daughter’s points at the start of our reservation. I know I can’t combine the reservation, so will send in a request on both accounts to add the continuing the reservation, though I know it’s not guaranteed.

Bring it up at check in and make certain your set to stay in the same room. The resort really doesn't want you to move so shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks for the info. I haven’t had to do a continuing reservation for a very long time. I know it’s possible that I might have to move, but will check at the front desk....

Had a similar issue at BWV a few years ago. At check in, nice CM said she would do what she could to keep us in same room. She couldn't and we had to switch rooms for one night. A pain, but not the end of the world.

That’s what I’m expecting. At least I’ll have clean sheets and towels 2 nights in a row!
