Two Peas Pack Their Disney Bound Pod ***Updated 10/07 with pics, PLEASE READ***

OMG, love the jeweled Mickey Head! It is great! And the itinerary is super cute too! You did a really good job on both!!!!!!

I LOVE the pj bottoms!!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone! Thanks as always for the kind comments, adn thanks to any and all lurkers out there! We'd love for you to come out of hiding, but I totally understand having once been a lurker myself ;)

Anyhoo, my plan is to have an update tomorrow, but I couldn't wait to share some good news with my Dis friends!! I mentioned ealrier in the report how heinous my mom's company/job is and how she was looking for a new one. Guess what?!?!!? SHE WAS OFFERED AND ACCEPTED A NEW JOB TODAY!! The company seems really nice, fair, and has great benefits to boot.

Her current company (beware rant coming, sorry, I have to do it) has poo for benefits, her boss is mean- and by mean I mean she calls my mom stupid, yells at her every single day, you get the idea, she works from 7AM to usually 4 or 5 with a 15 minute lunch break (she has to clock out for 30 but eats while she works), and her boss won't pay her overtime    AHHH, I wish I could warn everyone about this place:sad2: Anyway, my mom currently calls me crying alomst every day at work, and I really really hope we have seen the end of those days now! My mom IS a really hard worker (I've seen her in action!) and she IS NOT stupid- how can people be so rude?! Oh, adn get this, my mom's boss told her, and I quote "I just love to fire people." WHo on earth says that?!

Ok, rant over, I just had to get all that out! Ok, I might feel motivated enough to pop out an update tonight...stay tuned...please. pretty please :goodvibes

Congrats to your mom on the new job! Nobody deserves to be treated!! That boss will get what is coming to them.

 to Mom!!! It is unthinkable that some people think they treat other people like that. One of my best friends is going through the same thing. But yay for your mom!!!!!!

 Congrats on your mom's new job!!:woohoo:
No job is worth that abuse! Good for her!

BTW, my trip was awesome! We had some health hiccups, but we had a great, exhausting (hehe) time! I have day one posted!

Thanks to everyone, from my mom- she cant believe that "strangers" on the internet would be so kind with the thoughts and prayers. And to that, I say, "STRANGERS"?!?!?!?!? No way mom, these people are Disers- soooo not strangers. These guys are more of non-traditional friends:grouphug:

I am taking some pics tonight for an update I plan on doing after lunch tomorrow. Thank heavens for slow times at work, how ever would I be able to feed my Dis addiction?! :scared1:

Oh goodness, I still havent' done my promised update! How dare I be too busy at work, don't these peopel understand that you can't deny an addict their addiction?!?! UH! Well, I AM going to get one out today, no matter what. Work should afford me some spare time this afternoon, so be on the lookout readers and lurkers :rolleyes1 there are jibbitz, pins, and yes, more crocs in your (or mine to be exact) future.

I would like to title this installment of our little voyage “Because I like it gosh darn it!”

So, in my absence from my pre-trippie, I have managed to make several Disney purchases, which you will soon be privy to. Some are more exciting than others, but all very exciting nonetheless. Oh, and for anyone keeping track- which of course I assume is everyone- one month from today I will be in Epcot!! But since I know that you have all printed out, laminated, and hung on your refrigerator, my itinerary from a few posts back, this shouldn’t come as news to anyone.

Well, let me begin with no real Disney update whatsoever. Well, not really directly related to Disney anyway. Yesterday my mom and I had the astute pleasure of visiting Busch Gardens in Williamsburg. It was a loverly day outside, and HalloScream :hmghost: was going on so it was like a pre-MNSSHP if you will- albeit a little bit scarier. As I have mentioned before my parents were divorced before my dad passed away earlier this year, and my mom is seeing someone which I guess I am generally happy about. He is eh, ok, I suppose. He can be totally wonderful, and then sometimes less than totally wonderful. Anyway, we got to go to the Gardens of Busch yesterday because it was his company day there. I’m not about to turn down FREE tickets, even if it pales sorely in comparison to the World. Little did I know however, there was a price to be paid!! I was “fortunate” enough to spend the entire day with him, his 2 grandchildren (ages 11 and 16) and his daughter (who is cool, by the way). Yeah, it was a regular dysfunctional family touring disaster. Ok, disaster is a bit harsh. In fact, it wasn’t bad- if you consider literally crisscrossing the park in no particular planned path, half a dozen times, not bad. As a Dis planner myself, I wanted to roll some heads! Couple the disorganization with the 11 year old boy who was literally scared of EVERYTHING, the 16 year old girl who sent well over 50 text messages in 7 hours, and you get one unhappy Diser. I tell you of this grand adventure only so that I can sneak in a couple of pics that I took. You see, for as bad as some parts of the day were, I was able to get some good practice with my new camera for my upcoming, more important, vacation. I shot 252 pics to be exact. Picture taking and hanging with my mom were my only intents for the day. So, I present to you my mom and I with Jack, the pumpkin man, and some pirates, because who doesn’t love some pirates?! pirate: pirate: pirate:

IMG_1572.jpg

Oh, and speaking of pirates, my mom made me so proud during the Pirates 4D adventure that we saw when we first arrived at the Gardens of Busch. So, we are watching this 4D thing, getting way more wet by the effects than is really necessary, and my mom turns to me and says “I guess they are trying to copy Disney on this show. They aren’t doing a very good job.” God bless her, the woman is a saint. Yup, just one more reason to love my mother- as if we all didn’t already.

Oh, and the crowning glory on the whole day, was by far a conversation my mom’s boyfriend or whatever (boyfriend just sounds weird to me when talking about my mom, sorry) says to me in one of the lines, why don’t you and your mom go to Vegas instead of Disney? Um, because I don’t want to- obviously. Twenty minutes later, he is still trying to convince me that I am making a bad decision and I would love Vegas so much more. Um, no, sorry, I know I’ve never been, but me thinks not buckaroo. I know everyone can relate with me when I say, I am going to Disney BECAUSE I LIKE IT GOSH DARN IT. :furious: Hmph, take that. And this from someone who has never been to the World for longer than an afternoon. Ok, sorry, had to get that off my chest.

Golly, after that day, and that conversation, I thankfully had Mr. Rosemount and his Snickery friend to come home to.

Give this girl a glass of red wine and some chocolate and no one gets hurt :drinking1

Ok, on to more Disney related items.

Oh golly, where to begin. Let’s begin with the biggest item of note. By biggest I don’t mean most exciting, I literally mean the biggest, largest, takes up the most size, new purchase. Before I present it I will admit- I have a Croc problem. By problem I mean, I heart  them a lot. I have few pairs, and if I could wear them every day I would. I was reading another Disers pre-trippie and she described Crocs and jibbits as smiles for your feet. I have never seen them described so appropriately! So, I present to you, the latest addition to my little Croc family: The Grape Beach. Aren’t they great?! I think they will get along so well with the Peacock Mary Janes, the Chocolate Mary Janes, and the Blue Beach members.

IMG_1594.jpg

I had been wanting the Grape ones for a while but I couldn’t find them in stores. Well, Dillard’s finally came though and saved me from paying unnecessary shipping charges. Now I just need to get these suckers broken in and I will be set. Oh, and by the way, I couldn’t really find any shirts to match my new grape footsies, so I ordered a shirt from the Disney Store (Clearance of course) just to showcase the new Crocs. When it comes in I will show you the whole ensemble- of course.

Well, as beautiful as my new Crocs were, I couldn’t help but notice they seemed a bit naked :scared1: - and nakedness is frowned upon in the World I am sure. So, jibbitz to the rescue! Ok, I already had a couple of these little gems, but you can never have too many right?!?! So here are the non-naked, park appropriate Grape Crocs. And yes, I intentionally placed Donald and Daisy to look like they are talkign to each other- but we'll just keep that between us :rolleyes1

IMG_1626.jpg

I bought a couple of them on eBay because I really really wanted the castle one. I unfortnately could not find the Castle on its own, so with it I acquired the POC one, a Buzz one not shown, and a Princess crown one, also not shown. I wasnt' really into the Buzz and crown ones, so I am just going to take them with me and find a deserving kid or two to pawn them off on.- Year of a Million Dreams, the Ashley version :wizard:

Ok, I admit, I have ordered a few more too. But I will not be wearing ALL my jibbitz at once. I have to accessorize according to outfit of course. I think of jibbitz as shoes for your shoes. My DBF, bless his Disney loving heart, has yet to find the joy in Crocs or the aforementioned jibbitz. He just rolls his eyes, and says “And why do we need another pair of clown shoes in the house?” BECAUSE I LIKE THEM GOSH DARN IT! Hmph, take that, the woman has spoken. Ok, I don’t yell at him like the typing implies, but it is more dramatic that way don’t ya think?

Hmm, what else have I picked up since we last chatted? Oh yes, a couple random odds and ends. Let me first say, whoever thought of putting merchandise in the checkout lines is a genius. I might as well have S-U-C-K-E-R spelled out on my forehead. Now, did I NEED these next two items? No. Did I want them and ultimately leave the store with them? You bet your bottom dollar I did! And looking back, I still love them. First off, mini Disney playing cards. Hey, it’s hurricane season still, storms are always a’brewin in Florida, you never know when we will be confined to our room for a few hours with nary Stacy’s top 7 picks to kill time. :dance3:

IMG_1620.jpg

Secondly, well, here…..

IMG_1622.jpg

Was the regular chap-stick cheaper? Yes. Was the regular chap-stick just as effective? Yes. Was the regular chap-stick nearly as cool? ABSOLUTELY NOT! As you can see I have already shamelessly busted into the pack, and I am now toting a POC chap-stick in my purse. I admit, it is REALLY sweet tasting- kind of like Hawaiian Punch, but it’s ok, it’s worth it. :goodvibes

This brings to my last little purchase- ok, purchases. You see, I have been toying around with the idea of pin trading. It all seems very cute and game like to me, although I know some people are VERY serious about it. I just think they are cute and whimsical, and a nice way to express your Disney personality. I have bought a few over the years, but always wussed out when it came time to wearing them around in the parks. I don’t know why- I’m not THAT shy after all. I have a few that I have purchased online that I am willing to part with, so I am determined to at least wear them on a lanyard in the parks, no matter what this year! Whether I actually make an honest to goodness trade or not, remains to be seen. I have ordered a lanyard and everything so I will be ready to go when I get there. I’m sure that if I do trade I will commit pin heresy or something :scared: and trade a “good pin” for “cutesy, less than desirable pin” but I don’t really care. So, anyway, here are a couple pins I have recently acquired online. I like them, but I am ok parting with them should the need arise.

IMG_1613.jpg

Well, I guess that brings to a close all of my current new purchases. I don’t believe that anything has changed on my itinerary lately. I do have one ADR that I need to cancel at Raglan Road, but other than that I think I am all set so far. I can’t believe that I have been so long without changing any ADR’s. Go me!

Ok, well I have put off work long enough, I better hit the grind.

Up next, will my sweet new tripod ever arrive??? Will I be able to not royally mess up my MNSSHP iron on t-shirt designs?? And what other necessities will I add to my growing Disney collection?

Hi Ashley - wow you have been busy!! Great news for your Mom - a new job - how exciting! And her old boss..?? Nothing but a great big mean spirited, hard hearted bully, and once she has left not worth another thought!! ;) Which is I'm sure what will happen!!
And good choice for the wine - good old Aussie red - nothing like it!! :) ;) :thumbsup2
I see your ticker is down to 28 days!! Hooray for you - I'm still in weeks, but I do know I have 27 work days left and 44 sleeps!! :rotfl: Don't you just love the countdowns!!!
Looking forward to hearing more from you. I'm off to the hairdresser for some pampering!!

I definitely agree with your description of this woman. My mom is giving her resignation today and she's not telling her boss what company she is going to :rotfl2: Her current company is so un-trustworthy she doens't want them to know anything about her they don't need to know.

Oh, and yes, the wine was pretty good- not as big and bold as I would have liked, but good and easy to drink ;)

Lisa- glad you like the Crocs, I just  the color also, it is a lot brighter than the brown Mary Janes I wear all the time!

How funny is this...DH, my mom, and I were at Howloscream Sunday too! We have the premium pass (all parks 2 yrs) and love this time of year! We went Friday and Sunday and had a blast! It definitely got DH and I in the mood for next month and MNSSHP! Glad to see you all had a great time. I am enjoying your pre-trip report as well!

Wow, that is awesome! It was so empty Sunday, we were probably right next to each other and never even knew it- I guess I'll have to start sporting my Dis LGMH whenever I go somewhere :lmao: We did have a lot of fun, especially in the Wicked Woods- creepy, yet mucho fun :scared1:

Well, I just wanted to post a real quick update to say that....I think I had a bit too much fun in the clearance section of the Disney Store online. Thankuflly they didn't have too much in my size. I am always nervous ordering clothes (yes, even tee shirts) online for fear they won't fit. I actually ordered two of the SAME shirt in a XS and S because I wasn't sure. My plan is that hopefully the XS will be ok and I can use the S for PJ's. Oh my gosh, I'm losing it....which at least implies that I once had it, right??? Well, assuming that both shirts I ordered fit, I have knocked out another 2 days of wardrobing :dance3: And I assuem the lanyard will fit- unless I am freakishly shaped or something.

Ok, that's all for now- time to peace out fofwork for today :hippie:

Have I scared everyone off yet?

Anyhoo, no real update- I just wanted to say that I have a new obsession:

"Hello my name is Ashley, I am addicted to the Disigns thread."

Oh my gosh, I am going iron-on shirt crazy. I am planning on making MNSSHP matching shirts for me amd DM, and another matching sets for us-- oh, and another one just for me.

I am ordering the shirts to use tomorrow and I will of course post pics ASAP after I am done.

Get excited everyone, I know you're on the edge of your seats!!!!!

Ok, night night time, have a good one everyone :thumbsup2

I was reading another Disers pre-trippie and she described Crocs and jibbits as smiles for your feet. I have never seen them described so appropriately!

Hey, I think I know her! ;)

Hi, Ashley! I told you I would eventually get over here, so here I am! Both you and mom sound like good people... I think you both deserve a fabulous WDW vacation and you're going to get just that! pixiedust:

Say "hello" to Samantha!

Kathy

Looking forward to seeing the shirt pictures!
