Ok, so I had planned on doing an update tonight, but I am sad to report that it's just not going to happen- and my stupid new glasses are to blame

So, I go to the eye doctor yesterday because I am out of contacts, haven't been in a bit, yadda yadda yadda. About an hour later and blinded by those stupid yellow dialating drops, I have new contacts and new glasses prescription in hand. All's well- yeah, like my life is EVER that easy So, I put in the new contacts today and the world seems a little, er, "off" let's just say. I wear them most of the day, then I just can't hack it anymore and ripped (ok, peeled) those puppies out. Hmph, maybe my eyes just need to get used to the new lenses

Fast forward to after dinner. i head to Lens Crafters and pick out some cutie (in my opinion at least) frames and lo and behold I have my new glasses in the one hour guarantee. I rush home, put them on----hold on, wait for it--- oh yeah, the world is WAY off now. Holy cow, I could see fine 2 days ago!!!! My left eye seems eh, ok I guess, but good golly miss molly, the right eye is weird to say the least. I called my DM of course and I told her I literally felt like I was looking out of a fish bowl. Everything was rounded and weird looking. I know it's not a great description but weird is the best I can do.

So, being the google junkie that I am, I look up "how to read a contact/glasses prescription." Ah, first hit, I it. Hm, I notice that I suddenly have a prescription noting I have astigmatism. Well, that's news to me folks, shouldn't he have told me?!? Ok, maybe not, I don't know. Luckily I found my old prescriptions and I am taking them with me when i go back to the eye doc tomorrow. I don't care what your little meter reader says buddy, I can't see doodles!!!

Ok, so I tell you that story to tell you why I have no update. Honest to goodness, it has only been in the last 30 minutes that I have been able to sit back up and read straight again. I was so dizzy I had to lay down, how ridiculous is that? I still have a weird pain in my eyes though.

Well, my new goal is tomorrow will be updated. Stay tuned for a Disney box on the front porch, and mini toiletry Mecca Don't ya just love the three weird dancing men, I know I do!!

Man, me too! I called this morning and the girl at the eye doctor told me to wear thema few days to try adn get used to them. There is no way I can wear these things that long. And my new contacts, those aren't looking too swift either. I actually cried this morning because I woke up with such a bad headache and now I still can't see. I told the girl I leave for vacation in less then 3 weeks and I NEED to be able to see there! Ok, enough venting, back to work

Yikes!!!

I had that same issue about 2 years ago... I couldn't see well...my glasses were like seeing thru a fish bowl plus blurry.

When I went to get my exam I took my almos 2 yr DS and let me tell you not a good idea..hehe I think I didn't concentrate too well in reading the letters while trying to make sure he wasn't running around or trying to break something. When I got the glasses I was like woooooooooh give me a guide dog. After about two days I couldn't take it anymore I went back into the office (w/out my DS) and they did the exam again...it was off...way off..he ... I was able to get my new glasses about 2 days later and man talk about being a happy to be able to see again..

Hope you get them taken care of quick before your trip!

Haha, I wish I could use the "my 2 year odl was distracting me" excuse, but alas I can't. I tried wearing these dreaded things after lunch at work and I felt like a drunk person-- only not nearly as happy

UGH!!!! So, I went back to the eye doctor today, and wait for it again......I still can't see!!! He changed my Rx a little, and told me to wear the glasses for a couple days and get used to them- yeah, we will see if I can. I am going to try and wear them all day tomorrow at work. Anyway, sorry for no update AGAIN! Tomorrow is DBF's birthday so i have been busy getting presents and such ready for that. I have taken a few pics tonight, so tomorrow I promise an update. Thanks so much for everyone who is reading- I was worried that no one would read along.

P.S. 18 more days!!!!! It just still doesn't seem real yet.....

Ok, so who's up for an update not focused (no pun intended) on my visison- or lack thereof?? Well, it's not the juciest or most interesting update ever, but I have a few tiny updates. Plus, I think I need a break from reading/studying this:

Oh yeah, it is every bit as boring as you are imagining. Oh the joys of working in the securities industry. On an up note, after I pass this stupid thing I get a tiny raise ...tiny being the optimal word, however. This SHOULD make my third and FINAL exam, at least for a while. I was originally hoping to have this thing done before Disney, but nope, no way no how. Life has a funny way of getting in the way....or in my case, Disney planning gets in the way Totally worth it though don't ya think?!?!?!?

So, can I just tell you that I have had the hardest time finding good shirts for my iron ons I want to do? I have found some of the cutest designs from the Disigns thread- thanks to all you greta designers over there by the way! I know that a lot of people order them online but I am nervous that they won't fit. Im not like a freakishly weird sized person or anything, but I guess I am just paranoid. If anyone has any brand suggestions to order online or any stores I should check please send me a shout out. I have tried Target, Wal-Mart, Macy's, JcPenny, Dillards, ugh! Apparently the style with all the "cool kids" now-a-days is tight, skinny shirts, that are really really long. What the hey, I just want some normal colored, plain, fitted tee's. Well, I better get my patootie in gear with these things because we are now departing in less than 17 days

And this brings me to my next point. Does anyone else feel kind of eh as the trip gets really close? I mean don't get me wrong I am still excited, but I just feel weird. Maybe I am sad that I know the planning is almost over. I am sorta stressing over things I can't control- weather, not getting sick , etc. I think I am sad that I know it will be over sooo fast. Oh well, buck us Ash, this is nuts, it's almost DISNEY WORLD TIME! Ok, I'm good now. I started to feela little better tonight when my DBF and I were talking about our next trip-- which I assume will be next year of course. He wants to go back Oct/Nov-ish and he said we could stay at the Beach Club, which would be new for both of us

Wow, now if that wasn't a rambling mess I don't know what is........

I the toiletry section, and I am so not kidding. DBF does too, so I guess we are a match made in hygeine heaven, if you will.

So, does anyone remember the old Secret ads that said "Scent is the strongest sense tied to memory."? well, if you don't, consider yourself informed. Take a second and think of Disney smells.....go ahead, I'll wait.....

So, with this concept in mind, I have picked up a new scent from Bath & Body- Coconut Lime, as you can see in the Mecca picture. This will become my "Disney scent." Whenever I need a pick me up after the trip I am hoping that a spritz of this will take me back to my happy place.

Well, my study material is calling me, but I wanted to show your my new Pirates shirt- that I bought specifically bought to go to my new purple Crocs.

Check off another Disney outfit- oh yeah, I definitely have almost all my outfits planned out. Man, if DBF knew that he would really flip.

t-shirts...I heard you can order them from jiffyshirts.com Give it a try! I was totally in the same boat, but I finally found some on clearance at TGT. I also got a few from JoAnn etc. Do you have JoANN's? I have several DISigns that I am going to be doing too (thanks DISigner's).

Now I need to print them and iron them. I am waiting til the last minute for that one.

OKAY...Beach Club for next time....That is where we want to stay too! Great minds think a like!

Ok, well no REAL update here, but I went to our local gardens today (Maymont, for any of your Richmonders who might be reading along) to practice taking pics for Disney. I have been trying to take as many pics as possible lately. My DBF's band had a show Saturday morning, and I went and too 215 pics for them!! So, add that to today, and I have logged over 300+ pics this weekend- go me!

Anyway, here are a few from today, just to prove that I was practicing for vacation, thus, technically speaking, an update

AHHHH, p.s. check out my ticker, it's getting so close, and I have sooo much to do between now and vacation- other than planning vacation Case in point, between now and when I leave, I have 3, yes, count them, 1-2-3, engagement parties to go to!! OMG, this is madness!!

Ok, first off, thanks to all my loyal readers- I you guys. I just wanted to let everyone know that I ordered my t-shirts today from www.jiffyshirts.com , per many recommendations. I am so compulsive about the shirts fitting right that I pulled another "order in both sizes (XS and S) for each shirt ordered" order. I guess when you look at it like that I didn't really save too much money, but I just can't find any normal plain t-shirts in the greater Richmond area I am planning on making MNSSHP shirts for DM and I, a Minnie wearing Crocs shirt for myself, a "Mickey Addict" shirt for myself, and "Princess" and "Queen" shirts for my mom and I. Almost all of these are courtesty of www.amymickey.com - you rock amy!! Anyway, jiffy shirts tells me the shirts will be delivered Wednesday before 11PM- PM???? Yeah, you read that right. Stay tuned for THE SHIRTS, and will ANY OF THEM actually fit?!?!?!

Hi Ashley - not too long to go now!!! Great work on the photos - I've got to get a bit more practice in too, so I'll be out over the next couple of weekends snapping away!!
I look forward to seeing your t-shirts. One good thing here - at least we are coming in to spring/summer so t-shirts are all the you can buy!!! I might have to check out some of the iron-ons and give them a try! Thanks for the tips.

In one word NO- not a single one of them fits like I had hoped. I am going to "re-try" them tomorrow and hope that I have a change of heart. The ones for the party for DM and I- well, they are a might bit big, boo I am going to wash adn dry them, and if no shrinking occurs I will break down and order 2 different ones. I know that they are just shirts, but these shirts almost made me lose it tonight I think I was just let down that they weren't perfect- but what is, I guess On an up note, i do love the colors though. Oh, and I ordered a lime green one of course- woah- that sucker is green
