Two little Princesses on their first trip to WDW *8/30 - update*

It looks like you had so much fun and AK, you got some beautiful pictures! The Poly looks fabulous, I would love to stay there someday!

We did have a wonderful time. I'd LOVE to stay at the Poly again. I'm guessing they'll never have another deal like the 4/3, but a girl can dream!

First off…I forgot to share one of my favorite photos from AK. We were roaring like lions in this shot:

We woke up from our naps, walked to the TTC, and hopped on the monorail. This would be our last ride to Epcot.

We needed to find a spot to check in for our SWA flight the next day. We had a little trouble finding the right Guest Services area, but finally got ourselves checked in.

Next stop would be Japan for our much anticipated (by me) meal at Teppan Edo. We had a little trouble finding it, but eventually got ourselves checked in and waited for our table to open up.

We were seated at the end of the table. It was a great spot as far as keeping the girls away from the hot surface, but a bit cramped. I think they shorted us on space since Kate wasn’t really a paying customer.

Before supper got started, Kate was in a really owl-y mood. Nothing was making the kid happy. I was starting to regret bringing her to another sit down meal. The waitress took our order and chaos was starting to break out with Kate.

Chuck came out to our table and made his introductions.

It was amazing…as soon as he got to work there was not another peep out of Kate. She was mesmerized by his cooking.

Lily was really impressed, too.

Here he is making his onion volcano. Very impressive!

Andy and I both ordered the steak and chicken. Lily ordered the kid’s chicken. I was doubtful that the girls would eat very well here. Surprisingly, it was one of Lily’s favorite meals. And Kate ate tons, too! The food was absolutely delicious! I didn’t expect much of dessert, but was pleasantly surprised. Andy ordered the ginger cake (or at least I think that’s what it was). It was good, but not as good as the green tea pudding I ordered. I’ve never had anything like it, but it was very tasty! The girls were not impressed with their little Dole fruit cup they had to split. They were spoiled by the cookies they had at nearly every meal!

At the end of the meal I looked up and recognized a girl sitting opposite of me at the other table. I told Andy that I knew that girl…I had my first and only Dis meet of the trip. Unfortunately, the DISer had never seen a picture of me, so I didn’t want to freak her out that I was some crazy stalker. But then I didn’t want to be that person who reported back on the DIS that I had seen her, but didn’t say hi. So, after much debate, I headed over to introduce myself to Jackie aka Charleston Princess. She is just as nice in person as she is in “type” on the DIS. The girl I had seen across from me was her beautiful daughter, Chelsea.

Afterwards, we left our tasty meal at Teppan Edo. I was bound and determined to find Miuki (think I misspelled that) the candy lady. I was excited when we went outside and heard the drummers. I had read that Miuki “performs” right after the drummers. I looked high and low, but could not locate her little cart anywhere. I was very bummed. I had really wanted to watch her show.

We finished up the girl’s passports.

We headed towards the monorail. On our way, we stopped for our last Epcot Photopass shots.

Up next – Our last day and final thoughts

Teppan Edo:cool1: It's such a fun restaraunt and the cooking does mesmerize the kids so that always helps! I'm glad it turned out well for you. Cute PP pictures, both the AK and Epcot ones. Your daughters are too cute:cutie: I can't believe your last day is upon us

Another great review. Wow, that is nice that you got to meet someone from here. You seem to get the best pictures on photopass.

I love the roaring lion pp picture! Great update. Teppan Edo really looks fun. I'm glad the show distracted the grumps out of Kate.:) How fun that you got to meet CP! I sat next to another Dis-er at a meal in the MK, but I have to report that I did NOT say hello.:sad2:

Aw, your last day?:sad1:

Very cute lion picture - and glad that your kids enjoyed Teppan Edo. So sad you are coming to your last day of the trip and report.

Wow!! How cool that yours and Jackie's families got to meet!!:goodvibes That was some great disney magic to be seated at the same table for sure!!!:goodvibes

I don't want your trip report to be over as I've enjoyed it so much!! Maybe I'll get to see you on mine after our September trip!!!

Yum the food at Teppan Edo looks yummy! I'm glad Kate calmed down and enjoyed the cooking! How fun to see Jackie and family...
I think that I might spy more than just Chelsea, isn't that Connor sitting next to her?
Your pictures are adorable as usual! The girls holding Tink is just sooo cute!

More great pictures! We have ADRs for Teppan Edo in November. I am glad that you enjoyed it.

Just wanted to say I loved reading yout trip report. I'm so glad you had such a fun time with everything and got through the meltdowns just fine. I know there will be a few time-outs on our vacation.. :lmao: You have a beautiful family and took some great pics! My 9 DD also loves Marie so I think we will go to DTD for souvenirs. I found the TR late but so glad I did :goodvibes

I've missed this!

Your family is beautiful, and adorable, and obviously the CM's at Disney spotted this, too - your DH playing Beast, your girls getting chosen as Honorary Princesses - and I don't think it is possible for y'all to take a bad picture!

Thanks for your TR - it is just lovely.

Mrs. Spratt

ps - the girl's updo's are FAB!

Teppan Edo - looks like fun and great food :thumbsup2 I would have loved to have tried it but by the time we figured out that we needed another ADR at Epcot it was fully booked, so we settled for Tokyo Dining - I did sneak a peek in at the Teppan Edo section on the way to the restrooms and it looked great! Definitely at the top of the list for next time ;)

Your photopass pics all turned out wonderful :)

I've enjoyed your report very much, so sad that it is coming to an end :sad1:

First off, I'm sorry I've been MIA. We just got back home a couple hours ago. Andy and I spent a long weekend in Baltimore visiting my brother and sister in law. We had a wonderful time! They live REALLY close to the Inner Harbor, so we were able to see and do a bunch of fun things. Now we're back to reality and trying to catch up. I'm not promising my update by a certain day, but I am working on it!

Now for replies...

How cool to meet Jackie and family!!!
nice final Epcot family pictures as well:cool1:

Jackie is super nice. I felt like I was meeting Disboard royalty! :rotfl:

Teppan Edo:cool1: It's such a fun restaraunt and the cooking does mesmerize the kids so that always helps! I'm glad it turned out well for you. Cute PP pictures, both the AK and Epcot ones. Your daughters are too cute:cutie: I can't believe your last day is upon us

Teppan Edo is a definite repeat for us. Thank you for the compliments.

I know! I can't believe we're so close to the end. Sorry about dragging my feet on my update...I don't want this to end either, I guess!

Another great review. Wow, that is nice that you got to meet someone from here. You seem to get the best pictures on photopass.

Thanks - we love Photopass. After our very first day I wondered if we would get any good pictures. I think we managed to get quite a few great ones.

Even Teppan Edo can be a magical place! :wizard: CP was so gracious!

Very cute lion picture - and glad that your kids enjoyed Teppan Edo. So sad you are coming to your last day of the trip and report.

Thanks. The lion picture is even funnier with an inside story. A few years ago we were playing one of those party games where you're supposed to be quiet and act out some object and everyone is supposed to guess what you are. Andy was "acting out" a lion. No one understood what he was supposed to be. He had his hands up like in the lion picture. When no one could guess what he was, he tried a super quiet little roar, kind of like a whisper. It was so funny b/c it was so quiet and he's this big guy with this cute little lion roar...it still makes me giggle thinking back...

I spy Chelsea off in the distance in one of your shots! :thumbsup2

I think I can make out Connor, too!

Thank you so much for coming over and saying hi! I have to tell you that you absolutely made my night by doing so as you will see when I get to that part of the TR! :goodvibes

Teppan Edo really is just so much fun and yummy!

I'm so glad you were okay with us interrupting. I felt so bad bothering you, so I'm glad to hear that I may not have been such an interruption.

That's awesome that you got to meet Jackie and her family!! And what beautiful PP pics you got!!

:thumbsup2 and Thanks!

I know - we were seated very close to them. It really was strange to look up and actually recognize a face!

I don't want your trip report to be over as I've enjoyed it so much!! Maybe I'll get to see you on mine after our September trip!!!

Thank you! I don't want it to be over, either! I'll definitely join in on your Sept TR! If you don't see me right away, you may need to shoot me a PM to come find you!

Yum the food at Teppan Edo looks yummy! I'm glad Kate calmed down and enjoyed the cooking! How fun to see Jackie and family...

Thank you for joining in!

Unfortunately, I don't think there's a way to completely avoid timeouts on a vacation.

Thank you for the compliments.

I'm glad you enjoyed my TR! One of these days I'll get our last day posted.

I've missed this!

We really had a wonderful trip and I'm having a blast reliving it with so many wonderful people on the DIS!

I hope you're able to snag Teppan Edo for next time. It was a lot of fun and yummy!

Your photopass pics all turned out wonderful :)

We did luck out! I'm so glad we pre-purchased the photopass CD. It made us try to get as many photos as possible in order to get some good ones.

I've enjoyed your report very much, so sad that it is coming to an end :sad1:

Thank you! Me, too! :sad1:

enjoyed reading your trip report!

Thank you for reading along!

Glad you had a good time in Baltimore. That's out in my neck of the woods:goodvibes The Inner Harbor is a fun, happening place!

Glad you had a good time in Baltimore. That's out in my neck of the woods:goodvibes The Inner Harbor is a fun, happening place!

It really is. We got some great shots of the Inner Harbor from their roof top decks. It's such a happening little area. One of our favorite things was watching a tug boat lead a huge sugercane barge back out of the harbor. I can't believe how much historical stuff we learned on our trip!

I booked our departing flight for late afternoon so that we could hit our favorite park before heading for home. Andy had other ideas. I really don’t know what I was thinking anyway. We had a flight home for 4:45. We had to catch our ME bus back to MCO by 1:15. It took us most of the morning to pack up our room. After we checked out, we had our last Disney meal at Captain Cooks. It was okay, but the real winner of the meal was our last Dole Whips. I love those things!

We wandered around the GCH for a bit before heading over to the little craft/coloring area for the kids. The girls colored for a while. Then the lady brought out the make-your-own-lei stuff and the girls kept busy until our bus arrived.

Our flight home was a bit of a bummer. There were strong storms in the Florida panhandle, so flights were being delayed left and right. We were supposed to depart at 4:45. We didn’t board our plane until 5:45. We didn’t depart until close to 7:00. We were very relieved we chose non-stop flights. What a bugger that would have been to try to connect to another flight! Kate had a really tough time sitting still on the flight home. She only got a very brief nap before we boarded the plane, so she was not in the best of moods.

We got back to KC, made it to our car at the hotel we park & flew from. I’m so glad Andy was driving. I usually don’t fall asleep easily, but I kept nodding off. I was trying so hard to be the good co-pilot to help Andy stay awake.

We were very happy to make it to home sweet home.

Final thoughts

The DIS boards and TGM were the best resources anywhere. I purchased several guide books, but the most current and helpful info was on the web.

We loved the DDP. I doubt we would have tried so many of the sit down meals if we had to pay out of pocket each time. $100 + per sit down meal is pretty steep for our family, and we didn’t have to purchase hardly any meals for Kate since she was still only two! We figured that with the DDP we were pretty much paying for our TS meals, and getting our CS and Snacks for free. Definitely a must if we go to WDW again.

The various TS meals really added a lot to our trip. The character meals were a wonderful way for our bashful girls to meet a lot of characters without having to stand in line. We tried dining places that we don’t have something similar nearby at home. We really enjoyed every meal. It’s tough to pick a favorite.

We loved staying at the Poly – in case you hadn’t figured that out by reading my TR. It was a gorgeous resort. It was awesome being on the monorail – especially with the girls still using a stroller.

MK & AK were our favorite parks for rides. I really enjoyed the World Showcase. I would love to spend more time at all the parks just wandering around and taking in the little details.

I think our girls were the perfect age for their first trip. There were a lot of nay-sayers back at home that our girls were too young – they wouldn’t remember it. They had a wonderful time and hopefully will remember a bit from reading through the scrapbook (which I am a long way from completing). It was so magical watching them meet the princesses and other characters. They loved the rides, trying new restaurants, and swimming, of course.

We had a truly magical trip and I hope to go again someday. The girls still talk about the trip. Lily keeps mentioning stuff she wants to do NEXT time we go…
