Two little Princesses on their first trip to WDW *8/30 - update*

They do have a great location. Do you have any suggestions of great things to do with kids in the city? Do they have a cool children's museum or anything like that? The girls aren't going with us this time, but I'm sure they will next time!

The Aquarium is right on the Inner Harbor and is one of the best I've ever been to. Don't miss the dolphin show! Port Discovery is a fun children's musuem that is also close to the Harbor. They also have a zoo that is pretty good. They have polar bears which are fun. Your kids might be a little young now, but I'd also recommend Fort McHenry when they are a little older. It's the fort where Francis Scott Key saw the flag during the war of 1812 and wrote the Star Spangled Banner. I'm sure your brother knows some good places too. Washington is only 30 miles down the road too. Definitely worth visiting (with or without the kids.) Have fun.

I really enjoyed your latest updates. I can't imagine a more perfect MK morning for two little princesses. They are so adorable. You did a great job getting them ready to meet the princesses. I know they would have probably liked the BBB, but I think they looked great the way you fixed them up.

The shrimp story is so funny. I don't eat seafood either, but my daughter and husband LOVE shrimp. My son will eat it too if it is fried.

When my daughter was 2 and 3 Aristocats was her favorite movie. She loved Marie, so Marie is still one of our favorites. She is 13 now and if she saw a wall of Maries she would be in heaven too.

I can't wait to hear more about your trip and see more great pictures of your girls. I don't think I have seen any cuter pictures on the Dis.

More great updates! :thumbsup2 The girls were beautiful for their meal in the castle & it sounds like you had a very special experience there even without the BBB! You did a great job on the hair! :thumbsup2

Oh, and I love the pics at Goofy's...I can't wait to go there myself in just a few days...YUM!!! :lovestruc

Hi Carissa!! I just found your TR and am all caught up! I have 2 daughters as well and we stayed at the Poly back in May. I noticed that all of our TS meals were exactly the same so far!! Good choices!! :thumbsup2 I love the PP pics you had taken at the Poly. I don't remember ever seeing any PP photographers in the lobby while we were there! :confused3 I'll have to look for that the next time we go!! Can't wait to read more!! :surfweb:

Ooo! I'll have to check out your TR! Didn't you just love the Poly with little girls?!?!

Sounds like a lot of fun! Hopefully we'll be able to get the girls out there in the next year or two.

Thanks! We really enjoyed our MK morning with the princesse.

The shrimp story is so funny. I don't eat seafood either, but my daughter and husband LOVE shrimp. My son will eat it too if it is fried.

I really wanted to like the real shrimp. Personally, I don't care too much for fried fish. I prefer grilled our broiled. Seems like most of the fish around here is of the fried variety - your son would love it! :rotfl:

When my daughter was 2 and 3 Aristocats was her favorite movie. She loved Marie, so Marie is still one of our favorites. She is 13 now and if she saw a wall of Maries she would be in heaven too.

So they may still be playing with their Marie's when they're 13, too!? :lmao:

I can't wait to hear more about your trip and see more great pictures of your girls. I don't think I have seen any cuter pictures on the Dis.

I'll try to get another update on here tonight. Thank you for the compliment! :cloud9:

Oh, and I love the pics at Goofy's...I can't wait to go there myself in just a few days...YUM!!! :lovestruc

Thank you for the compliment. We did have a great time. Plus, our girls weren't any wiser - they didn't know that BBB existed. That probably worked in our favor.

Goofy's was great. Before we started munching on our treats we were kicking ourselves for not getting more. Once we started digging in, we realized we couldn't have consumed any more!!!

This is our last full day at WDW. I must admit that during our initial planning, I really was on the fence about visiting Animal Kingdom. We have zoos around here – how could AK be so different? I finally decided we’d spend a day at the park just because we should make sure we hit all four of the parks while we’re visiting WDW. As I started researching, I became a bit more intrigued. I have to tell you…we LOVED this park! Two of the girl’s three favorite rides were at AK.

So our day started like all the others. We ate our breakfast in the room and got off to a decent start. We caught a bus in front of the Poly and rode over to TL, then stopped at AK.

We got in, and got a lot done. We rode Kali a couple times before the lines got long. It was super hot, so we chose not to use our ponchos. At the time it seemed like a great idea. Not so great when my clothes were still soaked by the time we got back to the Poly! The girls rode Tricera Top Spin two or three times with Andy while I got the Safari FP.

The girls LOVED both TTS and Kali. Those were two of their favorites!

We’re a little wet in these pics:

I was amazed at how beautiful this park is! I would love to take some time someday and just stroll around and really enjoy all the theming.

We chose to skip the trails. We figured the girls wouldn’t get too much out of them, anyway.

We did the FOTHLK. It was really fun watching the monkeys. The music was great, too. The girls did NOT love this show. It was just too loud. They sat with their hands over their ears the whole show. I brought ear plugs to WDW, but left them out in our stroller, so I couldn’t shove them into the girls’ ears during the show.

We found lunch at Pizzafari. I really can’t remember for sure what we had, but it was pretty tasty. It felt so good to be out of the sun and cool off for a little while. After our refreshing meal, we trecked back to the Safari. We enjoyed the ride. It really is a neat way to see so many different animals. We even managed to get a seat in the back row.

We did have a little problem with Lily on the Safari. We passed the camp and I tried to explain poaching to her. Then we passed this:

She saw the little elephant. She kind of freaked about this. I tried to explain, but it was really bothering her that anyone would want to hurt the little elephant. She talked about this for a good week!

We stopped to get a couple tattoos for the girls.

We hopped on our bus and headed back to the Poly.

Before naps, we munched on our treats from Goofy’s.

Along the way at some point this day, I snapped some shots of the beautiful Poly resort.

Up next – our supper at Teppan Edo

I LOVE your pics from AK!! It poured rain (11 inches) the entire day we were there so we missed out on a lot that AK has to offer. Sorry the Lion King show was too loud for your girls. Glad you enjoyed the safari! Beautiful pics of the Poly!! I just LOVE that place! Sigh! :lovestruc

Your poly photopass pictures are great! The girls seemed to really be enjoying AK!!

Your poly pictures are so pretty! I love just hanging out there! Cool, relaxing and so pretty!!!

Looking forward to your Teppan Edo review! That was my favorite meal on our last trip!

You weren't kidding about getting wet on Kali! You looked soaked in those photopass pictures, but that's part of the fun:goodvibes I like AK too. I think it really is a stop and smell the roses kind of park. Can't wait to hear about your dinner

I'm glad you liked AK. We really like that park also.:goodvibes

Great pictures around the Poly. I love the picture of the girls with their Goofy snacks.

Looking forward to hearing about Teppan Edo.:thumbsup2

Your girls are adorable! I love your TR! Looks like you all had a wonderful time!

Another great update! :thumbsup2 Love the Simba shots - too cute! :goodvibes We can't wait to take Maddie to AK since she loves the zoo here at home. I think she'll love the Safari & probably TTS, too! :)

I'm glad you gave AK a try and loved it! It's a fun park and I am determined to spend more time there next time!

Kali was a favorite here too-just wish it was longer. You sure got wet!!

I love the photopass Simba shots-that is one of my favorite magic shots.

Ahhh, the Poly :cloud9: Which longhouse did you stay in? It looked like you were close to the quiet pool in that picture...

I love walking around AK for its themeing. Such beautiful pictures to take.

I enjoyed your update. AK is not my favorite park. I love EE and the shows, but other than that I don't really love the park. I am glad you all enjoyed it.

Carissa, I am so glad that all of you enjoyed Animal Kingdom! It is one of my favorite parks! Too bad about Lily and the elephant, though :(.

Love all of your Poly pics -- Charles and I stayed there in 1995, but I know the kids would enjoy staying there, too!

I can't believe you are almost finished with your trip!

Bummer about your rainy day!

I miss the Poly! We stayed at a hotel over the weekend. The girls seemed a bit sad that it wasn't the Poly! :sad1:

Your poly photopass pictures are great! The girls seemed to really be enjoying AK!!

We were pleasantly surprised how much they enjoyed AK!

Your poly pictures are so pretty! I love just hanging out there! Cool, relaxing and so pretty!!!

It was a super relaxing place to stay. Walking the grounds was so peaceful.

Looking forward to your Teppan Edo review! That was my favorite meal on our last trip!

We loved it too!

Yeah - we were DRENCHED!

Definitely a stop & smell the roses park.

I'll try to be a little quicker about my next post!

I'm glad you liked AK. We really like that park also.:goodvibes

Great pictures around the Poly. I love the picture of the girls with their Goofy snacks.

I crack up everytime I look at Kate's face in that pic. She was trying so hard to bite into the marshmallows, but it was tough since it was covered in so much chocolate and sprinkles!

Your girls are adorable! I love your TR! Looks like you all had a wonderful time!

Thanks! :flower3: We had a fabulous vacation!

I really like the Simba shots too. They always look cute!

Maddie will have a blast. If you hit TTS in the morning, you'll probably be able to ride it a few times. I'm pretty sure Andy said they rode it three times in a row.

I'm glad you gave AK a try and loved it! It's a fun park and I am determined to spend more time there next time!

Me too! Another reason I need to get to WDW in the near future.

Kali was a favorite here too-just wish it was longer. You sure got wet!!

Longer would be much better. We lucked out because we were able to get back in line right away and ride again. The "river" must have dropped a couple inches based on how wet we got! :rotfl:

I love the photopass Simba shots-that is one of my favorite magic shots.

Ditto.

Ahhh, the Poly :cloud9: Which longhouse did you stay in? It looked like you were close to the quiet pool in that picture...

I have no idea how to pronounce it, but we stayed in Rarotonga. That was the quiet pool.

I enjoyed your update. AK is not my favorite park. I love EE and the shows, but other than that I don't really love the park. I am glad you all enjoyed it.

Isn't funny how different things appeal to everyone. I think that's what makes WDW so appealing to people of all ages and backgrounds!

Carissa, I am so glad that all of you enjoyed Animal Kingdom! It is one of my favorite parks! Too bad about Lily and the elephant, though :(.

It really is a wonderful park. I think it rates right up there with MK in my opinion. It's completely different, but not to be missed!

Love all of your Poly pics -- Charles and I stayed there in 1995, but I know the kids would enjoy staying there, too!

I wish it wasn't so expensive. We lucked out with the 4/3 deal. I figured we had to snatch up the Poly while it was Disney-affordable.

I can't believe you are almost finished with your trip!

I was thinking the exact same thing. Maybe that's why I was slower with this last post. Maybe it's subconcious or something! :confused3

I have two girls as well so I've enjoyed looking at how you did things. Did your family like the Castle Lunch or the Norway Princess Dinner better? Thanks for your input!

Welcome to the DIS and to my TR! :flower3:

Honestly - both were great! I think the castle wins simply because the girls were all dolled up, they were chosen as honorary princesses, and because it was in the castle. The interaction between the princesses and the girls at both was about equal. If I had to do it all over again, I would chose to do both. If you're looking for a great deal, Norway is probably better because it in only one TS credit...same number of princesses, photo package with the meal, and very tasty food.

Feel free to ask any other questions as they come up!

It looks like you had so much fun and AK, you got some beautiful pictures! The Poly looks fabulous, I would love to stay there someday!
