Two for One: Double Disney Birthdays! *Meg nonTR upd 9/23* // *Help out Katie! 10/22*

I totally understood! And it was nice to have a message from you in between leaving class and driving downtown. I love my internship, but driving downtown, finding parking, and paying for it always stress me out...I'm not a fan of driving in busy locations...then there are the 7 flights of stairs to get to the offices where I work when I get there :scared1: My knee hates stairs.

I've been to Sabres games before where I've seriously doubted if we would ever score....last game we went to they really surprised us though...they scored their first goal at 27 seconds, there second at 1:34 (or something like that) and their third goal at like 3 minutes. We later found out that this made them the 4th team to ever score goals that fast...

I'm not either, hence why I will never, ever drive in Boston! You might have heard of a term that I can't post on here about Massachusetts people... :rolleyes1 It rings very, very true when you're talking about their driving, especially in Boston. Basically, you don't drive in Boston unless you know exactly where you are going. If I can time it right, I'll start texting you on Fridays between leaving class and going to your internship. :)

When Charles and I went to the game last Thursday, the Bruins scored really quickly, which was SO exciting. Then they lost. :headache: It seems like they always score really quickly, or later in the game.

You can just PM it to me now if you want so you don't forget. My memory isn't too good either

 I'm glad that was just a dream! I had another one recently too! I dreamt that we overslept and didn't wake up until 6:00 AM the day we're leaving for Disney. That would be very bad since we have an 8:00 AM flight. And it got scarier...We hadn't packed anything yet :scared1: I was horrified when I woke up :rotfl: I was like "MOM! Promise me that's not gonna happen!!!!!" I was freaking out :lmao:

Glad you're feeling better :goodvibes Extra sleep always helps ::yes::

I'm very excited about that fact that on Monday we'll be able to say "We're going to Disney THIS MONTH!!!"

Good idea. I'll PM you once I post this. I think I've had a dream like that, too! I hate it when I do because I always feel so panicked when I wake up. The dream about our trip out to Ohio overlapping with a Disney trip was horrifying.

I am so excited about that!! Monday is also the day that I'm in the single digits. :faint: Where did January go?

Yay for going to Disney soon!

KATIE! Since Christine and I can say on Monday that we're going to Disney this month, you'll be able to say you're going next month! :dance3: February is a short month too.

Yay! And I go to NYC the last weekend, so hopefully time will fly...though not too quickly...I have midterms the week before we go :scared:

I was freaking out the day after my dream. I'll probably be afraid to go to bed the night before because I'll be afraid I'll oversleep :rotfl: I'm a heavy sleeper, but thankfully my mom isn't. Our rooms are right next to each other and we both have the same alarm clock. It's very persistent. It's EXTREMELY loud and annoying and it won't stop until you turn it off. I've actually slept through it for a half hour before  But if we set both of ours for the same time that morning, at least one of us will wake up  But I've never had a problem waking up for a Disney trip. I always wake up as soon as the alarm goes off when I know I'm heading to my happy place! Waking up for school is a different story :rolleyes1

January flew by! I can't believe there are only two days left!

Yay! And I go to NYC the last weekend, so hopefully time will fly...though not too quickly...I have midterms the week before we go :scared:

I forgot about your NYC trip and then I remembered that you went last year, too. I am right now looking at my syllabus and trying to figure out whether or not I'll have the motivation to do the work that's due after we get back, before we leave.

I need a really loud, obnoxious alarm clock. I currently have my alarm clock set to a radio station that I don't like because the buzzer doesn't quite work for me...it's not obnoxious enough. :rotfl:

I for some reason never have an issue waking up when I'm going somewhere. I swear I have travel anxiety and I just can't sleep the night before. When I went out to Ohio last May with my dad and my brother, we were taking my car and I was going to help with some of the driving. I knew I needed a good night's sleep so to combat my allergies and get some sleep, I took some Benadryll, which normally knocks me out. Nope, I kept on waking up feeling like a nervous wreck and just barely getting back to sleep. :headache: This was when I was meeting up with Katie for the first time, too, so during our first real meeting, I was strung out on caffeine and four hours of sleep. She tells me I wasn't that bad but I was like, "crap, I'm bad enough on a good night's sleep and not having been in a car for seven hours. What's that they say about first impressions?" :lmao:

And tomorrow is the day we can do online check-in!!! :dance3:

EEEEEEEEEEK!!! :woohoo: :yay: It's past midnight, can we do it now?!

It's now Sunday the 31st, which means that we are leaving in TEN DAYS!

 :scared1: :woohoo: :yay:

Seriously, I can't believe it's gone so fast. Since it's Sunday, this means that I'm now on my last full week of work, and that when people ask when we're leaving, I get to say, "next Wednesday." Just thinking of all the various ways I can say that we're leaving really, really soon is crazy.

I did this in my defunct  pre-TR/TR, and I decided to do it again here on mine and Katie's -- some pictures from our very first trip to Disney as a family, in April 1994. We stayed for 8 days at Caribbean Beach Resort. I turned ten on the trip, Mike was almost seven, and Kailyn was just 14 months...and she's turning 17 on this trip. I am refraining from posting the pictures of her on here, because if she found out, she might kill me. :lmao: They're okay as untagged photos in a friends-only album on Facebook, and I'm pretty sure that's how she wants to keep it.

We came back to the room to find this, and I thought it was the coolest thing ever! I am so happy that my mom took it and saved it (and everything) from the trip.

Hoop dee Doo. It's hard to tell, but I was wearing a shorts/t-shirt set that had polka-dots AND stripes! It was one of my favorite outfits.

It's now a tradition for me to pose with the indians.

Chef Mickey's!

Goofy has always been my favorite.

A fast forward to Chef Mickey's in April 2008...

Just a random page in the album. This was back when DHS was MGM, character handlers didn't exist, and the only way to get pictures with characters without umpteen other children in your pictures was to pay for character meals. Oh, yes, I clearly remember these days.

n505059094_1188217_1276.jpg

I'm pretty sure this was the second time on Splash Mountain, because my arms are up. Mike looks absolutely terrified, but he loved it and he wanted to go on again. Pretty sure his face looked exactly the same in the next ride photo.

n505059094_1188218_1727.jpg

Somewhere in MGM. Apparently I have always had a fondness for posing. :rotfl:

Just a heads up, too -- I'm going to be sending pictures to Facebook from my phone when we are down there and trying to do live updates. If anyone wants to be Facebook friends, I am friends with a few DISers, so you can find me that way, or just PM me. :thumbsup2

My mom is like that too. She can never sleep the night before we go anywhere!

We're not morning people, and we have to be up around 4 AM the day we leave. You'll be meeting us after a 3 hour flight and only a few hours of sleep. Remember that when you see us :rotfl:

It's hard to tell, but I was wearing a shorts/t-shirt set that had polka-dots AND stripes! It was one of my favorite outfits.

Having polka-dots AND stripes is very exciting :thumbsup2 I have a Mickey tote bag that's blue with little white dots on the outside and it has pink and white stripes on the inside. I got in at Hot Topic on clearance for about 10 dollars :worship:

The pictures from the past are great. You will appreciate them more and more as the years go by.

You are really truly almost there. I am very excited for you!

You are going to be in Disney World having so much fun

NEXT WEEK!

It will be so nice to go and just think of all things fun - no work, no school no stress - just fun!

Ten Days!
:dance3::dance3::dance3:

I can't believe that you leave in 10 days! I'm so excited for you! Love the pictures of your first visit! I should dig around my house and see if I can come up with any from mine....

Side note: I read Kingdom Keepers this morning...now I just need to go find the second one!

I swear I have travel anxiety and I just can't sleep the night before.

I think you get this from me. :sad2: I'm so afraid I'll oversleep that I end up hardly sleeping at all. BUT being sleep deprived at Disney is a lot more fun than being sleep deprived at work! :)

Just did online check-in so we're all set. :dance3:

Those are great blast from the past pictures!! I love the humor in taking pictures of people terrified on rides. They just make me giggle.

I'll remember that. I'll also try to remember to ask my dad to please not wear the weird glasses. I'd feel bad if he scared you right away. :lmao:

That sounds really cute! Are you bringing it on your trip??

Thank you! I love having people who understand and share in the excitement. :goodvibes

I'm so ready to have a week of thinking about FUN stuff!

10 days!!!!

:dancer:

Love the old trip photos!

Thank you! And when I wake up tomorrow, it will be nine days! :hyper:

You totally should, I would love to see any!

I'm so excited, too! Tomorrow you'll be able to start saying that you're going next month, AND you're almost in the 30s. Like I said to MeMom, I love having friends that share in the excitement. No one at work, besides one friend, seems to understand why we're going to Disney again. Sigh.

Do you have the second one? I'll send you my copy when I send you Kris's birthday button and stuff. Oh and let me know when you're posting your itinerary, too, so I can pretend like we have one. :rotfl2: I don't want it to seem like I'm taking over our report. :worried: Its been on my mind.

Yup, definitely get it from you. So true, too.

I can't believe that is already done!! That makes it even more real than the luggage tags!

Those are great blast from the past pictures!! I love the humor in taking pictures of people terrified on rides. They just make me giggle.

Thank you! I crack up every time I see my brother's face. :lmao:

I'll have to see if I can find some....I know I have one pic from when I was about 3 here, but its not from Disney....

I bought the second Kingdom Keepers at Barnes & Noble tonight....I'm hoping to read it at work tomorrow, if I don't get distracted by the dis...I might try to post our itinerary tomorrow as well...I don't feel like you're taking over, you are just better at replying then I am

Oh, I GO TO DISNEY NEXT MONTH!!! :dance3::dance3:

Let me know what you think of it! I never actually got to talk to my friend about it at work last night. Glad you don't feel like I am taking over  That does make me feel better, I was worried about it.

That reminds me!! Charles saw my whiteboard today with both our countdowns. He asked me, "So Katie's going in forty days?" I said yes, and he goes, "you guys are insane." :lmao:

***********************

If you're not interested in Harry Potter, you can feel free to skip this!

Charles and I finally got to go to the Harry Potter exhibit at the Museum of Science today. He hasn't read all of the books, but he loves the movies, and I love both. I am sorry to say that I have no pictures. :( The website was very, very explicit in their "no cameras" policy, and I was concerned about it being confiscated. They didn't ask if we had one on us, and I didn't realize that we were going to get to check out the rest of the museum afterwards.

We took the T to the MoS with no confusion, even though we had to get on the green line train, which I find incredibly confusing and annoying, but we were just one stop over from the station we got off at to switch to the green line. We took the short ride there and walked the short distance to the MoS. Once we actually got inside, there was a little bit of confusion because we didn't know exactly where to purchase the tickets, and got two different responses from two different museum employees. :confused3 We finally got our tickets, and found out that the $26 price tag for the exhibit included tickets to the exhibition halls of the museum!! So, when we finished with the Harry Potter exhibit, we could wander the rest of the museum.

The exhibit started out with being sorted with the sorting hat. I can now say that I am in Hufflepuff, while Charles is in Slytherin. I suspect it was because he was wearing a green t-shirt and a green hoodie. :rolleyes1 After being sorted, we were lead into a room that showed several clips from the movies, and from there, we were led to the train platform, where we were both told that we looked a little old for first years. :rotfl: From there, we were led into the exhibit itself. There were all sorts of pictures in this area, including the moving pictures in the frames. My favorite was of the fat lady wearing opera robes, screaming and trying to get her glass to crack, when she finally screams and smashes it against the wall. Charles and I were looking at some stuff and I kept on hearing her and cracking up.

The exhibit...OH. MY. GOD. It was amazing. Really, truly amazing. Costumes and props and all sorts of information about all of it. There were the balls from the Quidditch games, the Nimbus 2000 and 2001 broomsticks, the head of a dragon...it was absolutely amazing.

In one of the movies (I can't remember which one, I'm sorry), they are practicing a "riddikulus" charm. One girl turns something into a giant jack-in-the-box, and it was freaky, to say the least. Now, I hate clowns. I am completely 100% afraid of them. I don't like dolls very much, and I hate jack-in-the-boxes. I turned and saw the actual prop -- the giant jack-in-the-box -- RIGHT there. It was huge, and 1000x creepier than in the movie. I almost flipped out. I said, "CHARLES" a little loudly, and he turned and saw it and went, "WOW. That's creepy even to me." I had my hand up blocking it from my peripheral vision. Charles was still looking at it and said, "it looks like the eyes could move." :scared1: Thanks, Charles.

The entire exhibit was just incredible. Anything that you saw in the movies, was in the exhibit. Anyone that is a fan of Harry Potter should go see it if they have the chance. I would seriously love to go back.

We got to wander the museum after, because we got the passes when we got the tickets to the exhibit, and it was a lot of fun. I (not on purpose) paid Charles back for almost giving me a heart attack with his comment about the eyes of the jack-in-the-box moving. Charles is absolutely terrified of heights, and when we went up to the second floor, he had to move way, way over to the other side, because through the clear glass on the sides, you could see all the way down to the first floor. He actually almost started hyperventilating...that's how afraid he is of heights. When we were still on the second floor, crossing from one wing to the other, we had to walk across the big, open walkway with more clear glass on either side showing down to the first floor. Charles walked very quickly across it, through the middle, and I walked more slowly across (I can't keep up with him even when he is walking at his normal pace, let alone when he's walking quickly.) I could see the partly frozen Charles River and the buildings of Boston through a big window, so not thinking, I moved over to the side to look. I suddenly heard, "MEGHAN! PLEASE DON'T!" Whoops.

Once we were done, we hopped back on the T to the train station to pick up my car, picked up Mike, and got dinner at TGI Fridays, because I am in love with their brownie obsession. :cloud9:

In the Megablocks clan's trip news, WE ARE IN THE SINGLE DIGITS! :dance3: I have another, unexpected day off work this week, so now I only have four days of work to get through! I'm probably going to spend that day doing homework. I am doing everything I can to get the work that is due after I get back, done before we leave. I finished next week's homework, so all have to do is read two more chapters, do the two study guides, conduct two observations (about an hour), type those up, and do the related questions. I am determined to not have to worry about getting stuff done on the trip, or when we get back. I've also printed out my packing/to-do list -- very exciting stuff. I still can't believe how quickly it is coming up; it feels a little surreal.

I'll remember that. I'll also try to remember to ask my dad to please not wear the weird glasses. I'd feel bad if he scared you right away. :lmao:

That sounds really cute! Are you bringing it on your trip??

:rotfl: I have a silly dad too, so I'm used to all of the silly dad stuff ;)

Probably not. If it had a zipper or it closed securely I would but I don't want to be worrying about stuff falling out of it. I prefer my messanger bag for Disney. I can just put it over my shoulder and have my hands free ::yes::

We took the T to the MoS with no confusion, even though we had to get on the green line train, which I find incredibly confusing and annoying

Every time I go to Boston I somehow end up having to take the green line. I get so mad about it :lmao:

I need to check out the Harry Potter exhibit!!!!

Yay for single digits :cool1: I'm at two weeks tomorrow!

Since it's February now...WE'RE GOING TO DISNEY THIS MONTH! :dance3:

Hey! Came on here to join in the Single Digit Dance!

:cool1: ...... :cool1: ........ :cool1: .......... :cool1:

Glad you enjoyed the Harry Potter exhibit. It sounded like a really fun time except fot the scary parts.

Anything called 'Brownie Explosion' sounds wonderful to me!

Hope your feeling better soon.

I bet you are sooo excitted for your upcoming trip, right about now.

Have fun packing, the day will be here very soon. :cool1:

Meg, was it you saying you had not seen Daisy on another report? If you get to Epcot at opening, she is very often right after you go through the turnstiles up on the right. No line, because everyone is racing to the rope to go to Soarin'. Anyway, just thought I'd mention that, in case you were interested in getting a Daisy picture.

I have no fear of heights, but I feel the same way Charles does about closed-in spaces. I have to really talk myself through things sometimes, knowing I will be perfectly okay, but still having those natural (for me) feelings of slight panic inside. I don't much like the room closing in before I get to ride through Haunted Mansion or the doors closing shut on Tower of Terror or Star Tours, but I like the rides enough to talk myself though those parts. I feel bad for him, because I know he wishes he didn't have to deal with those height feelings, yet they are very real.

This is going to be a busy and exciting few days for you! The days will probably fly by now!

Oh my goodness! The Harry Potter exhibit sounds absolutely amazing!!! Connor would love to go to it, I am sure! I wonder if it will be traveling...I would love to get sorted and see all the props from the movies (Connor and I have read all the books and seen all the movies -- we are definitely HP fans!) Shame on Charles for telling you it looked like the eyes were moving. :lmao:

Oh, good! He lives to do crazy things...I'm glad you understand!

My hatred of the green line was a little bit lessened this time. We only had to go about one stop over, and we didn't have to look to make sure we were getting on the correctly lettered train. That will change the next time I have to take it to a Sox game.

It was absolutely amazing! It's there until February 28, I think. I even got to pull up a mandrake. I was afraid to at first because I was afraid it was going to be really loud (I hate loud noises, even when they are expected), and Charles didn't want to do it, so he kept on asking me to please try it. :rotfl:

You are two weeks out TODAY! :dance3:

The exhibit was amazing! Once we got past that one scary part, I was fine. And thank you, I am feeling SO much better. I'm so glad I got it done and over with before we left.

I am ridiculously excited! I kept a couple of things on my to-do list, that I've already done, just so I could cross them off when I printed it out. I'm one of those strange people who doesn't mind packing, until I start worrying about having missed something and need to double, triple, and quadruple check everything (and sometimes tear the suitcase apart looking for something.) I am going to be at work tomorrow reminding myself of where I'll be at that time next week. :woohoo:
