Two for One: Double Disney Birthdays! *Meg nonTR upd 9/23* // *Help out Katie! 10/22*

I hope you guys get that meet with the Yeti! :cool1:

I hope so, too! Christine said it looks like she and her mom will be at AK that night, so I'm really hoping. It would probably be Kailyn, my dad, Christine and I riding -- it would make for an awesome DIS meet n' ride!

We'll definitely be at AK that night! We've never done evening EMH at AK so we won't miss it :thumbsup2 I'm so excited about the Yeti meet! One or both of us will have to buy the ride picture so we have proof of our awesome DIS meet n' ride! ::yes::

Meg, the snow is starting to stick here now. It started getting bad about a half hour ago. We definitely could've had school today but I'm not complaining :rolleyes1 It's gonna be really messy here in the morning because this is all gonna freeze over night  Maybe another snow day? :rotfl:

The forecast for next Tuesday keeps changing. First it said snow showers, then partly cloudy, now it says flurries. I don't think flurries are enough to keep us from leaving, but I'd feel better if it went back to partly cloudy! If we have to we can fly out of Boston or Hartford and it won't be a big deal. Boston's only an hour away and Hartford is about 2 hours. But I won't start panicking about the forecast until this weekend

I am interested in what you see going on with the refurbishments at Pop. Be on the lookout for any sign of updating you see going on. Someone said they saw new mattresses going in while they were there.

Hi, I'm joining in! :) A month ago who would have thought snow would throw a wrench in your Disney plans? Schools are closed in the city today but we didn't even get the predicted foot here...6-8 inches at most. Anyway, I'm sure everything will work out , you're going to have a great time! :goodvibes

:welcome: Thanks for joining in! It's always nice to have new readers. :)

We didn't get anywhere near what they were predicting! I think there's maybe 2" out there now. So much for a Nor'easter :rotfl:

Thanks for the reassurance -- I am sure everything will work out, too. Everything fell into place very nicely after our changes. :goodvibes

We will definitely have to!

The snow here started sticking a few hours ago, but it hasn't accumulated much at all. I texted Katie earlier because I went outside around 9 to move my car from the street into the driveway, and there was maybe 1-2" of the lightest, fluffiest snow possible. I didn't even have to brush it off; I just turned on my wipers and it all came off. The places around here that were supposed to get hit the hardest are just getting 6" at the very most. Six inches is barely worth shoveling out my car for. :rotfl:

I hope you guys are not affected! Keep me updated on that. It's still a week out, so it will definitely change, and I hope it changes for the better. I am so anxious for it to be Friday and for us to be on that plane!

I'm interested, too! I'd be really excited if we somehow ended up in one of the rooms that have already been refurbished. I'll be really excited to be there, period. :rotfl:

Ok, so I now have to repeat an earlier post in our thread:

1 Day! Meg goes to DISNEY in 1 DAY!!!!

I'm feeling a sense of deja-vu :rotfl2:

I'm so anxious to just be on the plane! As I was half-asleep in bed earlier this morning, I am pretty sure I heard a plane flying overhead, which I took as a good sign. ::yes:: This time tomorrow, we will be at the airport in Orlando!!

How cool that you get to meet Trent! I think your whole day in MK sounds perfect. How old will Kailyn be? :)

I'm looking forward to meeting Trent AND our whole day in MK. I don't think we've ever been in one park for the whole day, and I'm happy it's going to be MK. :cloud9: Kailyn is turning 17 on the trip. It's so strange to think that she was only 14 months old on our first trip!

ONE DAY!!! :cool1:

And...I just heard not one, but TWO planes fly overhead! I am taking that as a good sign. I never thought I'd be so alert to the sound of planes.

My mom got up early this morning to check us in to our flight 24 hours in advance, but the website wasn't letting her. We also still don't have seat assignments, but she called and talked to another very nice Delta agent who assured her that we are confirmed on the flight, and that our seats will be assigned when we get to the airport tomorrow morning.

The only thing left for me to pack is my laptop and charger. My iPod is charged and ready for the drive to Hartford, and I'll probably charge it when we're in the hotel room tonight, because thanks to Charles giving me the digital copy, I have Wall-E on my iPod. I can't do much of anything in a moving car besides talk to other people, look out the window, and listen to music, because I get carsick if I try to read or watch a movie or even text too much. :confused3 I'm hoping I'm able to watch the movie on my iPod on the plane tomorrow.

(sorry...another plane update. NUMBER THREE!)

We're leaving for Hartford between 12 and 12:30. The only thing making me a little mental right now is the fact that I do not want to bring my big suitcase into the hotel room that we're staying at for one night. So, I have the clothes for the flight tomorrow on a hanger and I'm hoping to just hang those in the back of the car, or drape them over the top of the suitcases. Part of the reason for this is because the pants I'm wearing tomorrow are cotton khakis that wrinkle very, very easily, and who knows if there will be an iron in the Holiday Inn room. I have some things that I'll need tomorrow in a big baggie in my carryon bag, and I'm going to have to throw those back into my suitcase before we check in and go through security tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure that the Holiday Inn Express has free Wi-Fi, so I'm hoping to check in later (and maybe even have some pictures to share from our adventures.) It is supposed to be rainy when we land in Orlando tomorrow morning, but I could care less -- we'll be in Disney World! :yay: My dad mentioned going to AK when we get there tomorrow. I suspect he is itching to ride EE, and I wouldn't mind starting out our trip with the yeti and getting terrified on dinosaur. ;)

I have to go get ready and double- and triple-check everything in my carryon and suitcase. I hope to check in again before we get on the plane tomorrow! :cool1:

For all those that are not Meg's Facebook friend (and incase she doesn't get on tonight, or if she does she can add to it), here is an update:

They made it to the hotel, it is across the street from the airport....They had dinner at Cracker Barrel and she and her dad are now headed to Kohl's for some last minute shopping
:cool1:

Thanks for the update DisKate!

I was thinking about Megablocks today and I'm happy to hear she made it to the hotel. :)

I hope they have a wonderful time. :goodvibes

Thank you Katie

We're in Hartford, at a hotel basically right across the street from the airport. We got here around 3:00, checked in, dropped our stuff off in our room, and headed to Cracker Barrel for dinner because we were all starving. It was delicious as usual. :cloud9: We all took turns playing the peg game that they have at the tables, and my mom got a couple for us to keep us entertained because Kailyn and I were very interested in it once we figured it out :rotfl: We stopped at a Rite-Aid for a few things after, came back to the hotel for a little while, and then my dad decided that he needed a new pair of sneakers. We went to Kohls, where we both got a new pair of sneakers and he purchased sunglasses. On the way back to the hotel, he decided to check out the airport parking options. We found long-term parking right at the terminals for $69 a week. :faint: Much, much, much cheaper than Logan!

I'm going to bed very soon -- we're leaving for the airport at 5 so my alarm is set for 4. I'm very anxious to just be on the plane and in the air. I will be absolutely overjoyed when we touch down in Orlando and board the Magical Express. :woohoo: I'll be sending pictures to Facebook for anyone on my friends list, and texting Katie and Christine. If I don't get to check in when we are down there, I'll "talk" to you guys in a week!

Glad you made it to Hartford! I wanted to come on here right after school to see how your first travel day was going, but I didn't have an internet connection :scared1: I think it was messed up because of the "blizzard"

I'm now doing a ton of homework. I didn't really get started until 6:30 because I got home late and then went out to dinner with my dad. We went to Bugaboo Creek and that place always makes me think of the Wilderness Lodge. I'll be there in 5 days :cloud9:

I'll be doing homework from now until I go to bed :faint: But in 18 hours I'll be on vacation!

I'm looking forward to your texts!! Here's some pixie dust for a safe flight! pixiedust: Have an awesome time!!!! I'll see you next week :yay:

That means you're really really close to vacation now because it's 3:30 AM :rotfl2:

I'm sending Katie a picture to give her a Disney fix, so I'll definitely text you something Disney-ish as well. See you soon!! :yay:

Have a safe flight Meggie!!!!!

Thank you my dear! You'll be getting a text before we take off and a Disney picture for your fix when we arrive.

It's here it's here it's here!!!

 :dance3: :cool1: :yay:

My dad checked the the Delta website and our flight is still scheduled, which makes me feel so much better. We all went to bed very, very early last night -- like 7:30-8 PM. I kept on waking up and then going back to sleep, and drifting in and out. I had my alarm set for 4 AM, and every time I woke up, I kept on checking the time. I finally just got up at 3:30 AM, because my dad was already up, and my mom and Kailyn were waking up, too. We're leaving for the airport at about 5 AM. :woohoo: So...in about eight hours, we should be pulling up to Pop Century in the wonderful ME bus!!!!

I know I said this last night, but if I don't get on while we're down there, I'll see you all in a week! I can't believe we are finally leaving. :woohoo:

I do that in and out of sleep thing often, and it is annoying! Mine usually is for something far less exciting than a Disney trip, though. :)

It is finally time for you to go and have your do-over trip. :cool1: Trent drove all night and texted me about an hour ago that he was there. I'm glad, because Georgia weather is supposed to be crazy today.

I'll be praying for a great flight. It may be raining when you check into Pop, but it won't last forever and you will be in Disney World, so there will probably be something fun to do somewhere. :goodvibes

I look forward to pictures. Have a fabulous time! :woohoo:

Morning everyone! Meg texted me at 6:27 to say that they were on the plane and getting ready to take off soon! :cool1::cool1: They are on their way! When I get home this evening I will try to figure out how to post the pic she is going to send me...might take a while but I'm sure Patrick can at least figure that out.

Have a Fabulous Friday everyone!

Today is 29 days for us! We hit the 20's :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:
(though my ticker says 1 month :confused3 I'm guessing they consider our departure day an actual day in the countdown...and day one for me is the day before, the 12th)

So happy for both of you girls! It's fun to hang out with you 'youngsters' who appreciate the DIsney magic. It doesn't matter if you are a three year old excited to see Tiana, a 20-something loving the thrill rides, a 30-something surprising your kids with a birthday trip, or an old lady schoolteacher snapping pictures of store windows...the common bond is the love of the magic that it brings to all of our families in so many different ways. :)
