I am sure this has been asked many times before, but who am I to search for answers? :rolleyes1

Have any of you had experience using a single CS to feed two people (say, for example, one adult CS and one child CS to feed a family of 4 for breakfast)? If so, how did it go?

We will be staying at CSR in Oct., so we will have access to a fridge, but I didn't want to bother buying a few breakfast items if a split CS would cover it. This also assumes I would use a split CS and maybe snacks for lunch. Thanks for the input.

There is no problem sharing CS meals. We did it in 2006 and had meals leftover. I'm not so sure about my next trip. My two boys will be three years older. They eat a lot more now. My wife and I can definitely share for breakfast. Lunch might be tougher.

How old are your kids? My mom and I are going and we plan on splitting a few things. For example- at the MK bakery- my mom can get one of those croissant sandwiches along with a tea and a chocolate chip muffin for 1 CS credit. She will eat the sandwich and tea, I will eat the muffin and we will pay OOP for a juice for me.

For lunch at Cosmic Rays in MK- we will order the chicken and ribs combo. It can feed 2 smallish/average sized adults no problem for lunch. (My dad ate the entire thing last time but my mom and I struggled to finish each of ours, ended up bloated and still had food left that we pocketed to take with us)

We also will have 2 snacks left too for that day (1 for each of us) so we'll eat that too which will tide us over from our smallish breakfast and lunch til Dinner which is a TS.

I wouldn't plan on sharing every CS meal- but I would bet that you could share perhaps 1 each day making the OOP costs a bit less.

We shared the rotisserie chicken Cs lunch at Cosmic Rays in the MK...Plenty of food for the 2 of us.

Going on trip will be (me) DH37 :surfweb: , DW37 :bride: , DD9 princess: , and DD6 :flower1: . Thanks for all the input so far.

If you want to split a CS credit for breakfast, a great place to do that is the Main St. bakery in the MK. For a CS credit you can definitely get a breakfast sandwich (egg and cheese croissant), a bakery item (they are huge) and a drink. Depending on the CM you probably can get two bakery items and a drink for a CS credit. The cinnamon bun is humongous. The french Toast loaf is very large as well.

We're also planning on splitting CS meals (lunch)... We will use a CS Adult credit for a meal, purchase a kids meal OOP and between the three of us, I think it'll be enough food... DD is only 1 and doesn't eat that much... I'll nibble from both meals and be full quickly and get to try different food! :rotfl:

always split our CS meals.

I go to the Food Court while she gets ready and get a CS breakfast, typically eggs, bacon, home fries and a biscuit, 2 drinks (coffee maker in room) will be a large OJ and a bottle of Diet Coke (for later that evening).

We then split a 2nd CS for lunch, (have never found one not big enough to share) with the exception of Wolfgang Puck Express because we both have our individual favorites (we'll bring leftovers back for late night snacks!) and the pulled pork at Studio Catering (DD's favorite).

Add a snack each and our own TS meal and we're plenty full.

I won't say we never buy anything OOP but not much!!

I only eat half of a sandwich usually so at Earl of Sandwich I split one with my DD, I only drink water so she gets the drink and we split some soup which is really cheap I think it's a 1.00 but certianly not more than 2.00. It also come with chips I think and a huge cookie or a big cake type dessert that is easily big enough for 2 people. So for less than 2.00 we have fed us both and it's really filling and delicious!

How about splitting a TS meal,I know you cant split a buffet, this is my first time at WDW,so please dont blast me just want the answer;) I am a single woman traveling with a 2 yr old,My DBF who by the way is a male, will be meeting us a couple of Days later,I have made ressies for CRT for breakfast a party of 3 two adults and a 2 yr old,he really does not wont to go but wants to makes us happy, the ressie is in my name he has basic dinning plan and all of his credits are accounted for, I have the Deluxe Dinning Plan, can I use my Key to the world at the end of our breakfast for the both of us? also I have a late ressie one night at Sci Fi, when we go will I be able to share my food,I could not possibly eat that much food that late, would love to split a burger and fries with him,how does this work?

I believe if you can only use one credit off your card at a time-example I am traveling with my niece (4 yrs), so I can only use one adult credit and one child credit at one time.

You could order one TS meal with your plan and split it with someone, but can't use two of your credits at one meal. At CS locations it would be easier to use up 2 credit on your card, but you would have to stand in line twice-I believe this is not officially allowed.

That was what I was confused,if you can share a CS thought you could share a TS, which I am not asking to share my breakfast at CRT or any other buffet or all you can eat, just wanting to know when I give her my key to the world will she just take the 4 credits from my card?I will only have adult credits my son is only 2. I just thought that the CRT was reserved in my name with my credit card, that when it came time to pay I could just have 4TS deducted from my credits, its not like he is not on the dinning plan, its just I will have more credits than he does so I thought I just could take care of it for him since I asked him to join me. I would hate to have to spend 40.00 dollars for him when I have already paid for the credits, remember no bashing I am going to WDW for the first time next week and if you dont know the best way find out is to ask:banana:

Right - we understand what you're asking, but you will only be allowed to redeem as many adult dining credits per meal as you have adults in your party/on your Key to the World. It appears yours will indicate "1A", meaning one adult. Yes, YOU will be able to use the two credits required at CRT for YOUR breakfast - but according to the restrictions of the dining plan, you will not be able to use four credits to feed two people. And you can't split your meal at CRT - it's preplated/prepriced.

He will either have to revamp his dining credit expenditures, or pay out of pocket for his meal, or not go (but don't tell HIM that, it looks like that'd be the option he chooses :)). Your two-year-old will be able to share the food that's on your plate; if you order her/him an actual meal, you will have to pay cash for that as well.

I'm not so sure about not being able to use adult credits from one person to "pay" for the other. We often travel with the grandparents. We had two room with one of our children with them. So there card says 3 adults, ours says 4 adults. When we go to pay the servers would take one card and charge all the meals from that restaurant on it. It got confusing for us, remembering which card had credits left. Esp. since a few meals we did not eat together. This was not something we asked them to do as it would have been easier for us if they did not, but it was easier for the server if they did.

so I'm not sure if rules were broken, but the servers definitely charged more meals to a card than people on the card at various restaurants. IMO I would give it a try, worst that can happen is they so no.

You could definitely split a CS meal at Wolfgang Puck (my favourite CS). When we were there in December you could get an adult meal for a child credit as the CS credits were just on your key as a total unlike the TS which were split between adult and child. We use to use 2 credits between 3 of us but even then didn't eat everything and never had room for dessert. The roast chicken was huge and enough for 2. The pizzas were also big. Even the sandwiches could be split. Also, you could refill your drinks as many times as you like. I just loved it there. You got china tableware so it was so much nicer than the average CS venue. The staff were great and use to fetch you refills and kept checking everything was ok. CAn't wait till my 3 week trip in December as I will be there often.

:scared1: Thanks to everyone, and I am so glad that I did not get blasted:cool1: and to the OP I did not mean to hijack your thread:flower3: ,and I am going to be prepared to just pay the 40.00, when I told my DBF we were eating at the castle,he was like and,I was like man we are eating at the castle, and he was like and what's so special about that?,I was like anyway:rolleyes: , we are eating at the castle, and he was like well if we are eating at the castle whats the big deal,I think he new I was getting tired from the silence on the phone,so he was well whatever makes you guys happy then okay we will eat at the castle:cheer2: ,by this time I have not gotten my bravery up to tell him the cost, so I asked myself, should I tell him now or should I let the menu and check tell him when we get there :confused3 ,so I was like if I let the menu and check tell him, then the normal show that goes on at the castle would be replaced by my son's fairy God Father, but his show would not be kid friendly.I did not want to risk the embarssement as well as ruin everyone elses breakfast so I said lets play the guessing game on the cost of the breakfast,so I was fair and gave him a hint I said it is going to cost a pretty penny, and the price is pretty heavy,so he was like 20.00 I said Noooo......,he paused by the way we were on the phone we live in different towns but same state,so he was like 25.00 I said Noooooo,,,, He was like wait a minute higher I said yes.....he was like 30.000 and I said Nooooooo...he was like wait a minute and by that time I was like man it's 40.00 dollars he said they must be serving this and that which I hated to say Noooo.... again because they did not have what he felt would have been worthy of the 40.00 he was like I dont even eat breakfast,he said the last time I sat down and ate breakfast was at your house and that was last August,so I felt bad, but he was like well if you guys want to do it then that's cool,so that is why I was wondering if I could just use the credits, since I have more than he does and will be left with one TS credit after I have taken goodies for the plane,so now I will be left with one and just pay the 40.00,If the server takes the credits off that will be great but if not O Well we ate at the CASTLE!

Great to know that two adults can split a CT. I was going to purchase the dedp but I think the basic plan will work out just fine. Thanks!

I would say your only issue would be splitting a child's breakfast. Most menus for CS include one or two pancakes or an egg and bacon with toast. Given the ages of your children that may not be enough (my older girls are 7 and 3 - there is no way an egg split in half would do it for either one of them!) The Main St Bakery idea is a good one, though. Another option would be to simply purchase a breakfast OOP as those meals are generally less expensive and save the lunch credits for sharing. My oldest and I have shared many meals and plan to do the same this trip.

Have a great time!

are you staying in separate rooms? how does one party traveling together have different dining plans?

re: sharing... we shared b'fast all the time and it worked great! i totally advise it... especially because breakfast counter service comes with TWO drinks!

We are traveling together, let me explain my situation,Me and my 2 yr old are arriving in WDW on Sept 4th,my DBF who is also my sons DGF,will be arriving in WDW on Sept 6th, we will all be together and leave together on Sept 10th,My son and I will be eating and doing the parks together on the 4th and 5th and then when DBF/DGF gets in we will all do things together, we are staying at the same resort and the also have it noted that we are traveling together, for the sake of a joining room or nearby room on his arrival,he will have the basic plan I will have the Deluxe therefore he will have a total of 4 TS and 4 CS credits when he gets there I will still have 16 Credits. He does not one to upgrade to the deluxe because he is not a big eater,so I understand that totally,he said he would just pay OOP for whatever he wants,I was just trying to be nice and eat up 2 of my credits at the CRT.That ressie is in my name with 2 Adults and 1 2yr old.
