Two DL CMs visit the world~~A pre-trip report! Updated WE'RE BACK!

Great start on your pre-trippie . I love TR's with family members posting. Thanks for posting pics of your scrapbook pages, I am going to attempt a scrapbook after our upcoming trip.

Can't wait to read more popcorn::.

Your trip to Seattle sounds like it was a blast. That dry ice ice cream thing sounds really cool!

Woohoo for the cheap airfare!
The ice cream was really cool! I also forgot to mention that the restaurant revolves so you get to see the entire skyline. It was awesome because you could leave a note on the windowsill like "it's my first trip to seattle" and 45 mintues when you got back to it, people had written all over it saying hi. It was really neat!
WOW with all that Sun I can see why you needed Sunglasses.:cool2:
UV rays are at their worst when it's overcast...i had to protect my retinas. Plus we were rolling OC style and had to look cool...:cool2:

Thanks! I LOVE scrapbooking! I think it's the best way to preserve your memories! It's so much funshopping for your supplies too!

Just found your pre-trip. DH and I are headed to DL in December for the first time! We've only been to WDW. I may have lots of questions for you!!!

Reading your last post made me smile. :)

Don't worry, soon you'll have lots and lots to talk about!

Kathy

I know, I know! I’m a slacker:rolleyes: … I decided that starting a trip report 7 months early probably wasn’t such a good idea because I ran out of things to say…

:rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

I'm not laughing at you - I'm laughing with you because I felt the same way when I was writing my pre-trippie.

You just get caught up in the moment :rolleyes1

I was just about to book them when DBF called and asked me which flight we wanted to take…evidently he was a great employee too and had stopped everything to book our return flight.

Must run in the family :teeth:

Great deal on your flight home :thumbsup2

Looks like you had fun in Seattle

Don't forget to post and update on your trip to Chicago!!

sounds like you guys had a good trip! :thumbsup2 great pictures!!
We really did have a great time! Thanks!

How exciting! Ask away! We'd be more then willing to help! DL and WDW are completly different. Do you know where you guys are staying yet?

I hope so. How's your "training" going for the 5k? :yay: DBF and I did a practice 5k on the treadmills and let's just say that we should practice some more!

But it always goes so much better when you're running the actual race!

Not sure where we're staying yet. I know we're not staying in a DL resort. :sad1: Do you have any suggestions for hotels near the park(s)?

I hope it goes better during the actual marathon! I think once I'm in AK the adrenaline will take over.
There are a bunch of hotels in the area, I'll ask some friends where they've stayed and if they would recommend it or not.

I had the entire day off or work today:woohoo: and decided I would be productive and post the most current itinerary I have. I LOVE making itineraries! I think this stems from the fact that I have control issues and itineraries make me feel like I’m in control. :)

 Day #1- Julie arrives around 1PM to MCO. My sister and her friend arrive around 6PM and DBF and I arrive around 7:30. We’re all going to share the cost of Tiffany Town Car. We were going to do ME but we wanted to make a stop at the grocery store for the essential items (bottled water, diet coke, goldfish crackers, etc.). We don’t have anything planned for this night…just going to lounge around and swim.

Side Note:After the first day we won’t be seeing much of my sister and her friend. They’re just taking advantage of DBF’s discount and the inexpensive ride to the hotel.
Side Note 2: We won’t be on the DDP. For 2 reasons, it’s not free while we’re there and CM’s aren’t eligible for it.

 Day #2- Julie and I have appointments for pedis @ the Mandara Spa @ the Swan (I think? I should check on that). After that we’re going to meet up with DBF and the rest of the group at EPCOT! :yay: (the best park ever) and have a late lunch at Coral Reef. Then it’s on the WS where even though we are sufficiently stuffed from lunch we will begin to eat our way around the world. This will be the best 1st day @ WDW! Pedis, lunch at CR for the 1st time and WS! Doesn’t get much better than that.

 Day #3- ANIMAL KINGDOM! Ok, so a little back story about AK. The 1st trip that I can remember to WDW was in 1999. We spent one day at AK and it was the HOTTEST DAY OF MY LIFE. Needless to say I didn’t enjoy AK. On this trip my sis and cousin and I were doing the passports for each of the parks. Since we only had 1 day for AK scheduled we had to get all of our stamps on that one day. So in like 103 degree heat and 98% humidity we had to make the long trek back to the conservation station. By the time we walked to the train and rode the train back there we were miserable we ran in got our stamps and left AK. It was a bad day. ANYWAYS, these last couple of trips my family and I have discovered the wonders of AK. We had really good luck with the safari last time, we love to go on the trails, the oasis is pretty cool to walk through and of course Expedition Everest is now there! So we love AK now! So I’m super excited that our second day will be at AK!
That night we’ll be at…any guesses? EPCOT! :yay: We have ADRS for dinner at Tepenyago (I think that’s the new name of the restaurant.) This is also a dinning experience first, so I’m super excited.

Day #4- MGM for EMH. Not much to say about MGM. I think it’s a good park but definitely not my favorite. I think it’s because we live so close to Universal out here and it’s a way better “movie” theme park. We do have lunch ADR’s for Sci-Fi because a trip to MGM is not complete without Sci-Fi. We really don’t have anything planned for later in the day, so I’m thinking maybe DTD/PI. I really want to go to the Adventurer’s Club.

Day #5- Today will be a sleep in day. DBF loves to sleep in, don’t get me wrong I do too but…when you’re on vacation in WDW I can’t sleep past 8, 9 at the absolute latest. DBF could still sleep till noon. So I promised him that I would schedule some “sleep in” days. I’m sure he won’t be sleeping in that late though…I have a tendency to make a lot of noise in the morning and I’m sure Julie and I will make extra noise to motivate him.
That night we’ll be @ the MK for EMH. We have ADR’s for dinner at the Plaza for the best milkshakes and hamburgers on Disney property.

I’ll leave it there for now so I can stretch it out over the next 3 months and 2 weeks….

Your plans look great. :thumbsup2

I also LOVE world showcase. We're going there so many nights of our trip in October!

Pedicures sound like a perfect first day activity.

Just a few random responses (in no particular order!!)

The Mandara Spa is at the Dolphin. I've had the pedi there; it's nice, but the "Meditation Garden" (lounge) is to die for! :cloud9: Soooo relaxing and pretty... I could have spent hours there doing nothing!

We always use Tiffany Towncar and they are great! :thumbsup2

I agree wholeheartedly about AK... it is 100X better at 75 degrees than 95 degrees!

If DBF wants to sleep in, let him! :cloud9: You can get a lot done before noon and meet up with him later! (Ya gotta think like a married woman...compromise and conquer!!) :rotfl:

You left out one important part of this story about how your Mother accompanied all of you around the whole park to help you get all the stamps in one day, while the rest of us sat in the Hot Humid Shade complaining.

(Ya gotta think like a married woman...) :rotfl:

BITE YOUR TONGUE..this is my baby you are talking about, she's to young to be thinking about marriage...:rotfl:

Besides don't let her fool you she'll sleep just as late and just blame it on DBF

Sorry I'm late to the party!

I didn't realize this. You do get discounts though right?

I'm always the last one to get up at home but when we're in WDW...I'm the first :confused3

It's getting closer :dance3:

I was coming to update my trip report (i know, i know, it's been forever) and i noticed that the last few posts were talking about marriage...well...i'm very happy to announce that my DBF is now my DF!!

Anways back to my trip report...an update!
Plane Tickets: Check
Room Reservations (ASSp and Poly): Check/Check
ADR's: Check
Transportation to and from WDW: Check
Still need transportation for our IOA day (don't know what day we're
going)
Itinerary: uggh :headache: it's messy.

As most of us on the Dis are, I too am a control freak and chronic planner! So it bothers me when the people who initiated this trip are backing out for various reasons. It makes it difficult because I don't know how many people to make ADR's for and how many people are going to need transportation to IOA, etc. It's constantly changing and I think that Disney Dining is going to block phone number soon. My DF (:goodvibes ) says to just let it go and we'll have a good time no matter what, but my A-type personality is clearly showing. We're only 2 months away from our travel date and 1/3 of our group doesn't even know if they're going and the other 1/3 is going but hasn't booked airfare yet! :scared1: It makes it very difficult to plan an itinerary...i know when i'll be eating though with or without my group! ;)
i think i'm too much like my dad :sad2:

WHAT!!!! WHEN WERE YOU GOING TO TELL YOUR MOTHER AND I, WE HAVE TO FIND OUT ABOUT IT HERE!!!!
