Twin names

Cecilia Renesmee!

I'm totally kidding.

So normally I just lurk baby-related threads instead of commenting because I a) don't have babies and b) won't be having any any time soon. But when I got to the R-middle name I had to really stop and think because I could not for the life of me thinking of any R names!

So I finally made a list (because I'm weird like that.)

Cecilia Rochelle
Cecilia Robin
Cecilia Raven
Cecilia Ramona
Cecilia Rosalie
Cecilia Rosalinda
Cecilia Roxanne
Cecilia Rosemary
Cecilia Ruby (this one was mentioned I think)
Cecilia Rebecca
Cecilia Regina
Cecilia Rhiannon

And just in case someone is thinking "ugh those names sound awful together" I just put all the R names I found even if I thought they might be too matchy or sound alike-y!

Oh, I really love this one... just so pretty sounding! Unfortunately Ruth sounds AWFUL with our last name. It leaves you all tongue twisted. :(

Yes, of course, the name has to sound good with your last name. I just want to say congratulations on your twins and I applaud you for wanting to use old fashioned, correctly spelled names for your daughters.

Here are some names from my family. All of these women were born in the period you are considering:

Virginia
Helen
Hazel
Emily
Cecilia
Ester
Nell
Alice

Good luck!

I'd say not Cecilia, though I do like the name. And btw yay for old-fashioned, correctly-spelled names. The 'Aliza' thing, or 'Rhaychelle' or other such 'I can't spell,' things are .... yeah.

Anyways, not Cecilia because, speaking as someone in possession of a first name that's also a song, she will someday want to shoot the songwriters, you, and the 4,564,332nd person who starts singing it in her general direction. It's not even a bad song, but she'll never escape it - even though you think it's an older song, that one is a classic, she'll never escape it.

By the way OP - I read this book a while back, you might find it interesting. Even though it seems likely yours aren't identical, still interesting maybe. It was really good, she explores research, talks to a lot of people, talks about different aspects of identity, etc.

I'm not one for grabbing names from things (songs/books/movies/shows) that I like... but DH & I seriously considered the name Caroline for a while because we're both huge, dorky Neil Diamond fans. :rolleyes1

Renesmee.... oh my god, just shoot me in the head right now.:scared1: I can't believe that's a legitimate name that people are actually calling their kids now! Hopefully by the time all the Renesmees in the world reach adulthood, everyone will have forgotten about that awful book.

If we go with Cecilia (I'm leaving it up to DH since I was the one that really wanted Eleanor Rose) I'm tempted to find a short, monosyllabic middle name just because Cecilia seems like such a mouthful.

Though Cecilia Roslyn sounds really nice with our last name.

I'm one of four girls, we were all given names that start with K: Katherine, Karen, Kimberly and Kara. Growing up we were all fine with it, we are all close in age and our mother also dressed us alike. What I hate now is the number of people who compare us to those stupid Kardashians since they are all named K names too. :sad2:
