That is SO funny that the Volvo site jumped onboard. Was it just me or did anybody else think that Volvo looked like an AMC PACER!!??? I wanted to see a nice 4-Door. But maybe it's clear in the book.. I didn't remember either way.

Stephenie had a picture of the Volvo S60 on her site and that is what I always pictured when I read the book. The S60 looks like something Edward would drive over the S40 hatchback - lol

Also, I had read about Edward mouthing I love you in the garage too, so I watched it closely and it doesn't look like that is what he is saying to me either.

I pictured the car from SM's site too. The hatchback didn't seem right. Though the stunt driving in the Port Angeles scene reminded me of Lights Motors Action!

SSB finally made it to the film for the first time yesterday afternoon, and completely enjoyed it! Agree with many that lead actors quite good, and I didn't find the S/FX all that bad... and saw in credits that Industrial Light & Magic involved, so doesn't get better than that (with what you can afford). I'll bet with bigger budget next time around could even be much improved.

Thought that the music did a ton for the film. Biggest surprise was just how much I liked Alice... very cool.

Help am I the only one who has yet to see this movie ??? AHHH my kids at 13 and 16 went with out me and my DH refuses to go with me. I will have to wait and see it with a friend I guess . Maybe next week while the kids are in school in day .

I have to say I am hooked . No cleaning because I am believe it or not READING ..I really need to put the book down.


Found a shirt the other day I have to go get ... Forget being a princess I want to be a Vampire !!!

I was SO thinking of your post/pictures during the Prom Scene...!!!

That must have been a blast!

It so totally WAS a blast! They played the last dance song and it was just surreal (even though I hadn't seen the movie yet - but they told us that it was the song).

It was fun.. I like to do silly things and meet people, I'm easy that way. There was a couple at the prom, an older couple and they were like, "What is this anyway?" I couldn't quite figure them out at first. So I told them about it and asked why they were here... did they bring someone or whatever. Nope, they said... they had called for dinner reservations and the owners said that they couldn't have them because this party was going on. Hmmm... they said, "well, give us tickets to that then!" HOW CUTE!!!

So sure enough they ended up having a blast, too and went on the bus with us all to see the movie. They must have been a newly married older couple cuase they were ALLOVER Each other!!!! Big PDA people for White-hairs. They were cute though.

I also chatted up the bar tender and asked if he had been there for the shooting. He told me he the staff had been allowed to watch the set up, etc...but had been shoo-d out for the actual filiming. Then he said, "Oh but I know a guy.. he goes to PCC (comm college) with me. He's friends with the Vampires."......

Hmmm says I : "Did you read the book?"

"No" Says he.

"The vampires don't have friends" says I.

"No.. He's a friend of the vampires... "....

"really???" says I. "

"Yep... he's a native American kid, I see him all the time."

"AHHHHHH" Says I, knowingly... "He's a friend of the WEREWOLVES!"

Bartender laughs... "Yea, you're right!" LOL It was just cute. I love talking to people. So cute.

Then, the next time i saw the movie, I had recently visited Bella's house and the town and everything else. That was ultra-cool, too! I've never done anything like that before. It was fun.

Good for you! I hope you find something afterwards that keeps you going with the reading. It's so hard to find stuff that really pulls you in but when you do... watch out, right!

I saw a matinee (not manatee) alone on Monday... it wasn't bad! You can do it! There were at least 4 other solo women there. No worries.

Oooh, I just looked it up-- she does touch him in biology in the BOOK, but in the movie it's in the car, when they both reach for the controls.

I watched closely for that the third time, too, and thought maybe that could have been what he said, but I didn't think it was clear. Okay... can you see it... we are ALL going to be getting the DVD the SECOND it hits the shelves, and we are going to be going over that scene frame by frame.
Edward in slow motion mouthing, "Iiiiiiiiiiii........lllllllooooooooovvvvvvvvveeeeeee......yyyyyyyooooooouuuuuuuuu........." And we're going to be going, "OMG, he SAID it!" Swoon!

I went to go see it again today. It was my second time and I went alone. There were 2 other woman there alone, a group of 3 teenagers and a group of 2 teens. It was great. No giggling like the first time I saw it with a packed theater. I got to really immerse myself in the movie. I noticed things I didn't before and I watched Rob more closely. I really think he did a fantastic job. I loved this movie more the second time around! DH said he wants to go see it with me, third times a charm!LOL

My computer dislikes multiquote, so I am going to respond to the comments without quoting them.

-I too liked when Carlisle said "Nice Kitty". I did not feel that this made me feel more sympathetic to Rosalie in the least. I think Books 3 &4 and Midnight Sun were the ones that helped me feel more sympathetic toward Rosalie.

- I too thought Alice was perfect for the part. I love when you first see her with Jasper in the cafeteria. It was so perfectly Alice. I also like the sbutle way Jazz and Alice's relationship was played. we know that they have a strong relationship, but are not as obvious about it. When he holds her hand in the car and when he is with her during the vision really showed the intensity.

-I also got a kick out of when Bella meets his family. I think this is my faovrite thing they added in. Catherine Hardwicke really managed to convey that awkwardness of first love and meeting the family for the first time.

-I do agree with Jennasis that the pacing could have been better. I don't think the whole movie was paced poorly, but as my friend I saw it with said, there were way too many montages. They could have cut down on the montages and the pacing would have been a lot better.

-Did anybody else notice that when they did the flashback of the Cullens meeting the Quileutes that Rosalie was not with them? This makes no sense because the order in which they joined the family was Edward, Esme, Rose, Emmett. The only two who weren't with them when they met the wolves were Alice and Jazz.

It's out already. I downloaded it from iTunes on Monday.

I saw the movie for the 4th time today. It was a 10:45am showing, I thought it would be pretty empty since it's a weekday and very early, but I was wrong. It was packed! Which I wasn't expecting at all. I saw it alone this time, so that was very nice. I got to take in a lot of stuff I hadn't seen before. Also, people were very well behaved, no screaming or giggling. There was a girl who screamed "Kiss already!" during the kiss though... Oh, and there were a lot of guys there too, not with company, just guys by themselves which was kinda strange.

I did notice a new thing. During the hospital scene at the end, the TV in Bella's hospital room is playing scenes from the Ballet Studio and then it plays the video of little Bella. I thought that was very cool, kinda like Bella remembering.

No, the woman in that scene is Rosalie. There are some set pics of when that scene was filmed. The only one missing is Esme.
