Anybody here NOT going to the midnight opening?
My friend and I are going to wait for the excitement to die down a bit; no midnight showing for us!

I live in Portland, OR where many of the scenes were filmed. There is one place, where the "prom" scene was filmed that is offering a "prom party" for Twilight fans which includes:

November 20th, 21st – Come Dance Where they Danced…
Come to the Prom at The View Point Inn. Actual scenes from the movie will be recreated using the real sets from filming. Sets, props, photos and memorabilia will be up for viewing. Come enjoy a “Monte Carlo” night like Bella and Edward. Admission is $47. Price includes admission to the Prom, a movie ticket for the midnight showing of the film at the Sandy Cinema, food and a non-alcoholic beverage, a Twilight t-shirt, a Twilight poster and a copy of a never before seen photo from filming.
I'd consider going if I lived a tad closer. It's a beautiful location!

I don't think I like this Kristen Sterwart too much.

What a nice thing to say about the people who are keeping you relevant.

I do think the little cartoon is funny though.

Thanks for posting this!! We almost went to this one, as we live in WI, but were unsure of the crowds so passed on it. I feel bad for Rob sometimes, he just stands there why they scream.... it must be so deafening and hard to just "stand" there... can you imagine??:confused3

THIS IS GREAT!!! I was hoping they would do the other books, it would be so cool to see her as a vampire in the last one! (If they do Breaking Dawn). I cant imagine them doing them only thru Eclipse.. but you never know.

wasnt someone going to the event in Saugus Ma? That isnt far from me I was wondering how it went and did you take pics?

:thumbsup2 I'm glad that Summit bought the rights to the other three books. That is a very good sign.

Incidentally, Stephenie has stated that she believes Breaking Dawn will have to be two movies- if they can even make it into a movie. She feels that Renesmee would have to be CG, and she doesn't feel that right now the technology will be convincing enough. We will have to see what happens.

OMG! They have to do Breaking Dawn. They can't leave us hanging at Eclipse. No Isle Esme?:scared1:

We need Isle Esme! lol :rotfl:

I think they can do Renesmee, with various young children as she grows. The problem is finding different aged children that basically look the same, it's a bit of a challenge.

Stephenie has stated it's not even that aspect of it, it's that the children would be required to exhibit behaviors that are not developmentally appropriate. Think about having a baby, or a one year old, or a two year old. How would you get them to display the appropriate behaviors for the character? To show the awareness that she has? This is why Stephenie feels it is impossible to use a human actor for Renesmee.

Here is the quote from Stephenie's website:

When I said that Breaking Dawn might be impossible to film, it's because of Renesmee. You can do almost anything with CGI these days—realistic dragons and dinosaurs and endless amounts of nonexistent creatures that blend right in with the real elements. Some of them look so real you forget they're not. However, the one thing that I've never seen is a CGI human being who truly looks real. An actress can't play Renesmee, at least not when she's a few days old; she's the size of a baby, but her expressions are totally controlled and aware. She would have to be a construct, and CGI isn't quite there yet. Of course, they develop amazing new technologies everyday, and we've got a little time left.

I'm not...we're going Saturday morning...I refuse to pay $10 each to go to the movies...We came from somewhere where movies cost $6.50...then we moved to the DFW area and movies up here cost $10...
we go to the movies ALL the time, but I have not seen a movie past noon in over 2 years...since AMC has $5 before noon on the weekends, that is what we always do...perfectly happy that way...crowds usually aren't existant.

obviously you are not an obsessed crazed fan like the rest of us...:lmao: :rotfl2: jk

Hmmm, that article sounds a lot fake to me because Kristen has been saying from the start how respectable fans have been, etc. I've never heard her say anything like that and quite frankly I don't believe it.

Seems a lot like words were taken out of context, probably because some fans were stalking the actors hotel rooms during filming and that's quite unrespectable.

I am highly skeptical of those articles as well. Everything I've read from both Rob and Kristen have been very positive regarding the books and the fans.

exactly besides even if she did say that, you know her PR would be making a retraction and she would HAVE to apologize whether she wanted to or not:confused3

yeah I remember when she was saying that...and its true...hopefully technology will be as such that they can do it soon though *crossing fingers*

Pshaw! They can absolutely do CG work on an actuall child/infant to make the expressions do what they need to do. Anybody seen that commercial with the baby on the computer talking about doing stock trades?

Anyhoo...not so sure they SHOULD make BD into a movie at all, but it should not be because Renesmee is just so unique a character that there is no way to capture her amazingness. I think SM is getting a bit full of herself. Between statements like the one quoted above and the one a while back about how she watched the first cut with a pad and pen to keep notes of things she didn't like (as if she were the director...eye roll)

I don't see how that makes her full of herself. I think she has an honest point. There are simply some books or characters that do not translate well to movies. So far, the only CG babies I have seen were absolutely awful. The caliber of CG for a movie is very different than the caliber for a commercial.

As for sitting there with a pad and a pen, It hink it's great she is so involved in the process. In the end, the movie is still her story. JK Rowling vetoed many things in the Harry Potter movies. It is part of protecting your creative property. As a fan of the book, I appreciate that she does this. It means that the director is making an effort to remain true to her book and her vision. There is nothing worse than going into a film based on a book and realizing that they screwed it over completely. (Eragon anyway?)

crazed no...obsessed, yes...I just don't feel the need to spend that kind of money on a movie, nor do I want to listen to little fan girls screaming everytime Rob Pattinson comes on screen.

So here's a rude quote I found from the Bella star:

Kristen Stewart took it up a notch in an interview with MSN when asked about obsessed fans near the set while they were filming in Portland, Oregon:

"I just didn't pay attention," Stewart recalls. "I was like, 'You guys are celebrating something that has not come true yet. So, you are really retarded and have nothing to do with this creative process and I really don't want to hear you celebrate in front of me. Get out of here! It's my responsibility!'"
"You can go online and it's very intangible. I mean, who knows how many of these girls there are? It's probably just the same five girls going on every message board and gabbing on about it," Stewart says. "But to have literally, like, a room of over 5,000 people screaming at you makes you want to cry. It's not like, 'Oh, this is so great.' I think it's literally like an instinct. To have that sort of energy forced at you? You start to wither."

Nice. Oh well. It always amazes me when people who go into show business, presumably to become movie stars, hate being movie stars. :confused3

I'm still excited. My co-worker said she'll go to the local Portland party with me! I'll be posting pictures from the place where the "prom scene" takes place in the movie. Too dorky, I know! It's all good.

It's the same quote from the other article. I'm still taking it with a grain of salt though, since I've never heard her say anything like that before. Even if she did, I don't think Kristen is a stupid enough person to say such a thing.
