I know exactly what you mean. I'm going to try to keep an open mind when I see the movie, but I'm sure I'll be more nitpicky about it. It's hard watching someone else's interpretation of something you love so much! :lovestruc

I'm rereading Twilight right now, and I picked up on something I've seen in the trailers -- when Bella asks Edward, "How long have you been seventeen?" and he answers, "A while." (one of the best lines, IMO! Perfect in every way... anyway..) In the book, that scene happens in Edward's car, and in the trailer, they're shown standing in the woods.

I'm sure it won't make much difference, really, but that sort of thing is annoying to me. :headache:

That scene in the trailer is buggin me too, but mostly because Bella's voice sounds so grating...like a man's voice and Edward (Robert) both looks and sounds just plain ugly in that particular shot. In fact, it doesn't even look like Robert Pattinson.

I suggest actually SEEING "The Breakfast Club" before you make a statement like that. The book is absolutely in no way anything like, or remotely relatable to the Breakfast Club (other than they both involve high school age students). And there is no "new" Breakfast Club. While there has been talk of a remake for years, there is only one BC film. Tiwlight is NOT the BC with vampires and werewolves.

I took her quote as sarcasm - especially with the ROFL smiley at the end. I don't see many (if any) similarities between them, and I've seen the Breakfast Club many many times (ok, I'm old!). I think she was trying to say "oh, yeah, they're EXACTLY the same, except for all the werewolves and vampires and completely different plot and everything ;) ".

I am glad we are talking about movie vs. book. There are very few movies that can even hold a candle to the book. And when I first started stalking the internet for Twilight info and I saw they were making a movie I got really bummed. And then when I saw the trailer, I thought Bella was all wrong. Not how I imagined her looking, talking, acting... AT ALL! And as I am watching interviews with her so seems so .... unenthusiastic and uninterested. She annoys me to no end. I think the saving grace will be Robert. I have a feeling he will do Edward justice.

I am glad that the part where Bella gets bitten is in the movie. It is those little details that are vital!

I don't have issues with Kristen, I actually really like her voice.

Quite frankly the only person I have issues with in the movie is Taylor Lautner (Jacob).

That scene in the film is in the woods because Edward takes Bella there during school so he can tell her the truth about what he is. From there it goes into the meadow scene (if I remember correctly).
The scene in Port Angeles with the car and the dinner is still there, but it's different, he doesn't tell her everything there but Bella starts guessing.

Me too, on the Bella opinion. She has totally grown on me, but the actress herself always seems so....."bored" all the time to me. It looks to me like she pulls the roll off well.

Robert will rock Edward. I'm hoping so anyway! popcorn::

I agree with books being generally better. I love to be caught up in a good book for days on end. So I'm sure they need to creatively butcher any book to make a film that is under 30 hours long. I can't imagine having to make the screenplay choices they did. :rolleyes1

It will be interesting to say the least!

Yeah, bored is a good word! As long as Robert is there for eye candy, I suppose I can try to look past boring Bella. ;) (well Kristen anyway)

Yes, writing a screenplay would be so very difficult. But then I look at Pride & Prejudice and it is a movie that I think translated very well onto the screen. I might be biased since it is a favorite book AND movie of mine. And what I also loved was, to me, the charaters on film were exactly like I pictured them in the book so I didn't get that dissapointed feeling.

Pride and Predjudice is the one case where I love the book and the movie. For me I either like one or the other but never both. P and P movie was quite different but still the same essence to me!

I'm the same way....there is the part in the book where they are in his bedroom and she tells him she isn't afraid of him, he replies that she should'nt say that, and in the book leaps across the room and grabs her and pulls her down on the couch....in the preview he throws her ( in his graceful Edward like way!) and goes out the window....I am really OCD when it comes to books and movies not matching....I'm still mad at Robert Redford over the way The Horse Whisperer ended.

And, where might we get them? Someone has to have a link to something. I wanna know!

Is this some crap link rife with viruses? I'm suspicious.

Is it worth the download? I'm so conflicted.. it's like finding out where your presents are hidden and looking at all of them before Christmas!

I won't do it. :rolleyes1 I would love to but I will be strong and wait for the whole book.......It is killing me but I can do it:scared: At least for tonight...I will be strong
