Haven't watched any of the clips from the movie because I'm a dial-up kinda girl. More than a little concerned about the movie, because while I LOVED the Harry Potter book series, I saw the first two HP movies and I thought they suc. . . were not that great. Might have to wait a bit on the movie and see how you all think it compares to the book.

Per Utah Momma's instructions, I went back and read the WHOLE thread - as if my poor children hadn't been fending for themselves while I read (and re-read) the books, they also have to entertain themselves while I read this thread and checked out Twilight Moms (see above referenced dial-up kinda girl).

Totally on Team Edward here, but I think that Jacob is very sweet - and shown very age appropriate. I'm still young enough to have bought into that once in a lifetime, true love, soul mate business.

I was surprised though that there's not been much talk of what Breaking Dawn will entail. Will Bella go through with the wedding? Be hunted by a vampire again on Spring Break? Be changed into a vampire after her wedding night? Will Edward break the bed on said wedding night?

Ok so I bought Eclipse today at Borders but I haven't gotten New Moon yet from Amazon. Should I wait for New Moon to arrive before reading Eclipse or would it be ok to read Eclipse first?

I haven't read the whole thread either--this means I need to dpend more time. DH will love that! DD and I talk about whether she'll ever actually go thru with it. (But we don't discuss the bed thing ) Hmmmm....

I haven't read the book yet, but there was an article in Time I was reading yesterday that was saying the author was the new J.K. Rowling. If that's anything close to true, which I'm sure it is based on all the wonderful things I've read about it here, I'm sure I'll just love the books.

I think you will like them too. I had my doubts at first but then I got Twilight at a used bookstore on a whim and thought...what the heck. I was very surprised and I could not put it down. And now Edward is my dream lover. If only he were real.

I've read that too. I think the reason they are comparing Stephenie Meyer to J.K. Rowling is because the stories are appealing to SO many different people - different ages, backgrounds, etc. I think one of the main reasons the stories (both HP and the Twilight series) are so great, is because the writers were writing for themselves first. Just my opinion, but there you go.

But, definately read the books! So great.
