TWILIGHT vampire book!!!!!

I've read all the books but I have to say the movie was a disappointment. It was like they skimmed the surface of the story and left out substance. I felt know connection with Bella and Edward. I hope they recast Bella. If the characters had some chemistry the movie might have worked but they lacked that from the start. I can't even say I liked it a little because it was that bad. What a shame because the books were very good. Bad actors and a bad movie. I will say I liked the actress that played Alice. That was the only good cast I think they made.

I sort of feel the opposite. I think Kristen and Rob have tremendous chemistry but I do think both arent very good actors. I told DH that within the next 2 months you will hear they are dating. Today at the checkstand a rag magazine are already saying that. I loved ALL the other casting though.

I feel they will date eventually anyways when they have potentially three more movies they could and will be making....:goodvibes

Her blinking was KILLING ME... wholley COW :rolleyes2: However, I saw her on Letterman (only because my real love, Steven Colbert, was on - sorry Edward but Steven is my man ;) ) and she was blinking up a storm. And she was breathy and annoying (I know, I know she's super great and alot of you love her but me.. not so much. It's ok.) in real life. It helped to know that it was natural to do all that blinking and not something she thought up to be a good angsty actress.

its so funny you said that...one of my friends went with us to the midnight showing and she had only heard me talking about it..she was never interested in reading the books or nothing and the only reason she went with us is because her mom, sister and niece were going and she didnt want to feel left out but once she saw the movie she did what all of us have done...became obsessed:rolleyes2...anyways she was dying to go see it again so we went last night and she asked me if Kristen was a tweaker:rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao:

More Box Office News...

Twilight makes 72 million out of Opening Weekend

awesome news CP...thanks:goodvibes

Okay so i am still recovering from my Twilight premiere weekend ! i am so beyond tired But all i can say is Twilight rocked ! the 1st , 2nd, 3rd, time i saw it.. i think that it could have not gotten any better (well that is exceptable for a 2hr movie i am sure that if it was a 2 week movie that would be a different story)
i think the expression's that rob and Kristen had summed up stephenie's descriptions from the book perfectly... it left me breathless , i was all tense through out the intense parts and laughed at the comical parts and ooooohhhhh and awedddddd through out ... i have a new respect for the actors .
I am so beyond excited for New Moon ..
Our event went off with not too many hitches,
the only thing i did not like was i did not get too do as much shopping with all our vendors Because i was so busy ...
and they had a ton of awesome stuff luckily they have websites and i can order off online...... :rotfl:

Now In MY opinion:::
I have seen the interviews with kristen and rob, and i do have to say that this is all new to them to go from nobody's to the most popular two people in the world i think i would be acting the same way....:scared1:
they are great and i can't wait to see them in New Moon ..

i am excited to go take my DD7 to see twilight tommorow she has read the book so she is waiting for it .....
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Wow, we pretty much agree on everything Arelys! Including how DBF hated it.:rotfl:

:rotfl:
DBF won't stop talking about how terribly cheesy it was. He's at least thankful that it wasn't as bad as another movie I dragged him to earlier this year, that he will never stop complaining about

Didn't anyone notice that Victoria SPOKE in this film? She doesnt until the next book..... just curious if anyone else caught it.

Also my daughter saw it for a 3rd time last night, and from a tip I read, Edward does mouth the words "I love you" after he says "You are my life now" when the cars take off in the garage. How cool!!

Amy

Really?! I didn't notice that either! Now I have even more reason to see it a second time

:lmao: :rotfl2: :thumbsup2

Really, I thought that scene with her leaving felt pretty emotional. I felt like alot of scenes went by SO QUICKLY and I actually "got it" when she was having trouble leaving and not hurting him.

I agree with tons of what you said! We were on the same page for most of the movie, I think. Except James. Blech. Double yuck. And overall, I thought Bella was great as well. Same with Vicotoria... I thought she was REALLY good. She just looked great. Beautiful and fitting with her animal hide. ::yes::

I agree that it did feel emotional and I really felt bad for Charlie and I saw his pain, but I guess I just expected more theatrics from the way it was described in the book.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who found her excessive blinking and breathy speaking irritating. I'm also glad to hear she does it in interviews too and that it is natural, not that she did it exclusively for the part. And don't worry, you're not the only one who isn't totally in love with Kristen Stewart.

isn't she dating someone? I thought that was why she was always seemed so uncomfortable in interviews when asked about the chemistry between her and Rob...

anyway...I'm still not sold on her as an actress as this is the first time I've actually enjoyed her in something...
However, I think Rob is a phenomenal young actor...he has so much talent already and I can see him becoming a really wonderful actor in the long run...not necessarily big, but that doesn't make someone a good actor or not anyway.

Luvdzne: Remember, not all vampires have special talents. (Carlisle, Rosalie, Esme, and Emmett are examples). Victoria does have a gift, but is not an obvious one. In the third book her gift is for evasion. She has a sxith sense of when it is time to retreat, which is why the wolves have such a hard time getting her in the second book.

I agree with the couple of posters who talked about that horror movie preview. It was awful! Someone needs to tell the person who decides which trailers to put with which movie that just because Twilight has vampires that doesn't mean its a horror movie.

Everyone was screaming and freaking out in the theater when the trailer came on. I was mad because I didn't come to see Twilight to be forced to see some horrifying looking movie. I did look away eventually, but not before I had all these disturbing images stuck in my mind.

We didn't get this trailer, but I'm curious as to what movie it is...

The movie theatres are told what trailers to put on the movies. The movie Unborn is a Rated PG-13 movie and that is why it was on there. But, our theatre has been told to remove it, so I would imagine that all theatres are being told the same thing. I do agree that it was a awful trailer.

I just got back from seeing the movie. I loved it and didn't think I would. I had low expectations because of the preview of Edward and Bella in the Cullen house when Edward and her are talking about the graduation caps; I really thought he was going to screw up Edward. In my opinion he did not. He was great although he cringed a little too much. I though Kristen WAS Bellla. Bella to me was very understated and stuttering and Kristen nailed it. I thought their chemistry was there too. The things left out of the book were fine and I didn't miss anything.
James was amazing. In fact, all of the characters were casted perfectly. I agree with the PP who said that Jacob's wig was horrendous. I took my mom and 13 year old DN and they both LOVED it. Niece wants the book, which I love if it will get her to read.
I went to see it in a suburb of Phila and the theater will full but not sold out at all and everyone was thankfully quiet.

Yeah.. she has a boyfriend right now, but come on... she is young, he is young. They are going to be working together ALOT in the future and I just could SEE something happening. Maybe not, who knows?!? But I did hear her bf was on set quite a bit....

Oh I SO agree about the Unborn preview!! Very scary!!:scared1:

I was so glad that I knew it was coming the second time around.
We had DS (10) with us, and he had a blanket, so I put it over his head and held my hands over his ears. It would have truly scared him to death.

Heck..it scared me to death!!

Her BF is with her all the time. On set, for promotions, etc.

I thought Alice was adorable but did anybody else think it was campy when she was helping Bella in the Balet studio and was sniffing her fingers of the blood? It reminded me of the Saturday Night Live character who sniffs her own armpits then announces, "Superstah!"

:lmao:

I loved the girl who played Alice. She was probably the hardest character for me to get a good picture of in my mind. I did think that part was weird, but thought maybe she was just trying to desensitize herself.

In that scene I thought she was just smelling the venom in Bella's blood and that's why she told Carlisle about it.

Makes sense... I remember there was a scene when james does a particularly "campy" smell scene, too. I just thought they were all slightly hoakily done.

I actually liked the scene where Alice gets to break James' neck, though! Paid homage to the ability of the vampires to fight.
