Hi fellow Twilight fans- I am about to pass my set of books onto the Mom's book swap - but the Eclipse copy has some iron on "Team Jacob / Team Edward" decals. I can't pull off T's with sayings on them anymore :rotfl2: but if anyone wants them- PM me your address.
:)

will send to Misty tomorrow-

now back to finishing Breaking Dawn...:yay:

Ok... so DH and I (DH begrudegdly. He's a good sport but the idea of going to property that isn't his and taking photo's is "against the rules" in his eyes and therefore taboo - poor DH.) :rotfl: ok... so we took a road trip today. A Twilight field trip so to speak. These places are less than an hour from where I live in a suburb of Portland, OR. :drive:

Me in front of the Kalama High School. This was the stand in for Forks High.
I'm going to attempt a panoramic shot.

When I was there I thought that the front of the school was the main entrance. In fact, the side of the school was used as the main entrance in the movie.

Up next.... Charlie and Bella's house, the Dress shop and the Bloated Toad in downtown St Helens which was the double for Forks.

I'm going to go see the movie again tomorrow. I wasn't planning on it but in St Helens I got a pic that I think might be a location in the movie and I want to see if I recognize it in the movie or if I was just suffering from overactive imagination. :scratchin:

PHOTO CREDITS: I think I got these mainly from Twilightmoms.com but I also saw some great shots on twilightextremists.com and Queen for the day every day Blog.

Heads up ladies...South Park is going to rip the Twilight phenomenon BIGTIME in the new episode this week. I may be more excited about that than the actual movie!

omg
I must say that I CANNOT wait for this:rotfl:
No one is safe when it comes to South Park!

By the by...I saw the movie today and it was fantastic

I just loved it.

I saw it and it is not as great as they are making it .. there is really no twilight spoof they are just vampires in school no bella no edward just hot topics... lol

Just saw the movie for the second time. There was no Unborn trailer- Thank God! I asked at the concession stand, and they indicated that at least in our theatre it was never put before the movie. We had trailers for Inkheart, Push, and Harry Potter.

After reading this thread I did wait look to see if he mouths "I Love You" in the garage seen- yep! It was very subtle and hard to catch. I would not have noticed it if you all hadn't tipped me off.

One thing I did notice was the use of four leaf clovers. There was the "Kiss Me I'm Irish" shirt, and then the waitress in the restaurant had a four leaf clover necklace. The next time I see it I'm going to try to keep my eye out to see if they show up anywhere else. I wonder if it's a director's trademark?

Yeah...we watched it yesterday and it while there was plenty of funny per se (heheheh), it wasn't a big Twilight rip like I'd heard.

I think I'm going to be a big loser and go to the first showing matinee all by myself this morning. No crowd, no DH, just me.

Total Edward Scissorhands look, you're so right.

The movie theatres are told what trailers to put on the movies. The movie Unborn is a Rated PG-13 movie and that is why it was on there. But, our theatre has been told to remove it, so I would imagine that all theatres are being told the same thing. I do agree that it was a awful trailer.

wow that doesnt make any sense...seeing as how all the movies come with particular previews on a separate video reel I dont know how they could have clipped it...more than likely, when you went, they were using a different reel of previews which didnt have the unborn preview on it...not because they took it off because people asked to have it removed:confused3

I thought Alice was adorable but did anybody else think it was campy when she was helping Bella in the Balet studio and was sniffing her fingers of the blood? It reminded me of the Saturday Night Live character who sniffs her own armpits then announces, "Superstah!"

:lmao:

In that scene I thought she was just smelling the venom in Bella's blood and that's why she told Carlisle about it.

once again its funny how everyone perceives certain things differently:rotfl: I took it that she was intoxicated by the blood smell and she was trying to control herself from partaking of it..

I actually liked the scene where Alice gets to break James' neck, though! Paid homage to the ability of the vampires to fight.

i know right??? loved that scene:thumbsup2

DH and I went on a road trip today. We got pics in front of Bella/Charlie's house, the dress shop, and also in front of "Forks" (aka kalama) high school. Anybody interested?

 :lovestruc  the pics gf:goodvibes

Oh, and some guy sitting down front was obviously out to embarress his teenaged daughter. During the part where Edward steps into the sun and sparkles, suddenly this big deep voice bellowed, "He's SO HOT!" The entire audience just burst into laughter! :lmao: It was funny, but I'm glad he didn't repeat it, once was enough! ;)

now THAT would have made me lmao

DH and I did this last week, while we were at the ocean, check this thread, page 210, post #3144 for our pics.. Would love to see yours, TravelMel! ::yes::

Couple things about Forks' Chamber of Commerce "Twilight" map-- they picked out a couple of houses as what they thought were Charlie's house and the Cullen's house. But locationally they were all wrong. Charlie's house is supposed to be a little bit out of town and backing on the forest. Although the one they had looked good as far as the description. We drove past it though I didn't take a picture. "The Cullen's house," though, was in town, and it is a B&B in a blue Victorian style. Totally wrong, of course, as any Twilighter knows; it's a ways out of town north on 101, and 3 miles off a side road. Plus it's white, 3 stories, andlocated in a big clearing with cedar trees with a river running in the back. (this bothered me in the movie, that they didn't stay true to the book's description of the house and its surroundings. It's going to make a difference, especially in Breaking Dawn, if the movies get that far--hmm.. they better!)

:rolleyes2:confused3 what are they supposed to do? build a house just so they can stay true to the book??? they did what they could Im sure...

I am kind of surprised to hear that the movie portrayal of Rosalie didn't make anyone else feel more sympathetic towards her, I certainly did.

you know I personally think Rosalie had way more face time than she should have...Alice should have had more than she got because right now Alice plays a bigger role than Rosalie does...My dd opinion is that its because Nikki is Catherines muse and its a personal thing...:scratchin hmmm I wonder..........

oh man that made my day:lmao:

My husband has been a manager for 22 years at the theatre. They are given a list of trailers to be put onto movies. It is not a big deal to splice a trailer off of a reel. They were sent a memo from their home office in Kansas City, to pull it off. These are AMC theatres. And yes there were complaints about that particular preview because of the young audience that is seeing the movie. Definately not unusual.

I wonder why they didnt pull it off of all the AMC theater vs. just a select few if it came from their home office:confused: Ive been 3 times so far as its still on ours..how weird :confused3

I'm missing this movie like crazy, you guys have no idea! I keep replaying scenes in my head ALL the time. I have issues. :P
Hopefully I can see it again tomorrow...

I noticed in the fight scene with Alice after she smells Bella blood she says, "Carlisle, her blood!" Which could give evidence towards CP's interpretation. (Although they do make it seem like they do not realize irght away that she has been bitten.)

I'm going to see the movie again today, whether I see the matinee or evening will depend my nap, lol.

I did have a comment/question about the ending, it is in white so as not to spoil for somebody who hasn't seen it, so highlight to read it.

After watching it for the second time last night I thought the ending didn't make much sense. Edward can read every mind in the room, so he would know that she is there. Alice sees when other vampires come near, so she would most likely know that she was there (although in the third book we do learn that Victoria has learned how to work around Alice. However, at this point she wouldn't have had time to get the info from Laurent.) Also, Victoria is not a vegetarian, I would imagine that she would not be able to control herself around all the delicious human blood. I got the impression from the books that normal vampires avoid contact with humans unless they are hunting.

Did this strike anybody else?

To Eeyores Butterfly (in white) . . .

I thought the exact same thing about Victoria at the end. Edward and Alice would have smelled / sensed her a mile away. I think it was all just stuck in there at the end as a movie device to anticipate a sequel. As far as Victoria being around humans, perhaps she just hunted and isn't hungry? Perhaps her vengeance for James' death has begun to take over? Who knows. Since we don't really see Victoria until Eclipse, I wonder if they plan on bringing her back in the second movie? Will the second movie combine elements from New Moon and Eclipse? hmmmmmmm . . .

Wow, that highlighted bit was AMAZING! I am so easily amused. You rock! :worship:

hmmmmmmm . . .

I think it was as simple as them needing a dramatic ending.

I saw it again today. I was relaxed, it felt good.

EDIT: WHOA.. .DUH, as I tried to "quote" all the white showed up! What a putz I am :rotfl:

I saw the movie again today. I have to say that I loved it in alot of ways and it was SO much more relaxing this time. But in some ways.. yeek. Mostly the overdramatics in Edwards acting. I know, I know.. I can't help it! *sigh* Don't hate me.

The special effects:

Please, please check out at least the first minute of this video:

What if I'm not the hero....

I mean seriously. :sad2:

I loved the baseball scene even more this time. The music was AWESOME and rocked, especially when it breaks and Emmet throws the ball back in. It was upbeat and FUN. Good stuff.

Overall, it's campy, hoakie, and I still love it.

Yesterday when DH was going around taking pics of me in front of all the sites he said, "You didn't even like the first book." It's true. I had alot of issues with it and I think they're good issues to have.

It's still fun though. There's definitely something about it. Especially all the silly trips I've taken because of it. This is going to sound cheesy, but I do it for you guys! I'm a trip reporter, dang it!

I love the sleuthing and the research and the travelling and the reporting, it's so much fun!

I hope you guys like the upcoming photo spread. :lmao:
