I am thinking that instead of buying the men's suits here in the UK and lugging them to Orlando on the plane, it would be sensible to rent them from Carolyn Allen. We are having a small Escape VR ceremony and will only require suits for DH, DS who will be nearly 21 and will escort me up the aisle and DS 10 who will be ringbearer and his Dad's supporter. If we send measurements to CA's in advance, will she be able to fit for the suits (at our hotel), say on the Monday if the VR is on Wednesday? Will this be enough time? Would she then have to take the suits away again and deliver them to the hotel the next day (which would be Tuesday - in time for Wednesday's ceremony) and then come back again to steam my gown (as it says on her website that steaming and tux delivery cannot be done at the same time if more than two suits are involved due to the weight of the suits and the heavy steaming equipment)?
Does anybody have a current price list for her tuxs and services they could send me via this thread or PM. I could contact her but as I am a way off yet (May 2011), I think she would think me just a little too proactive :rotfl:. I realise the prices will go up before my date, but want a vague idea for budgeting purposes!!!
Thanks for any help you can give
Much love
Joanne

I asked about two suits and they were $130 & $150 plus tax.

I emailed her about a suit and she said it would be $150 plus tax which would include shoes.

We have decided to go to Carolyn Allens when we go to Florida in 3 weeks and get measured up for the wedding next year. I don't think DF measurments will change much in a year. At least he can choose his suit whilst we are in the shop, and we can put a deposit down on it. So when we get married next year i'm guessing they will drop if off at our hotel the night before.

THe rental price of Carolyn Allen's tuxes includes delivery, alterations, etc. - that's why their prices are a little higher than a regular tux shop. :thumbsup2

Theoretically, this sounds do-able, unless the fit of the pieces was so wrong that they needed to order completely different ones from their out-of-state warehouse (this only applies to styles of suits they don't keep lots of on hand).

You might want to email this schedule directly to them and see what they say, since there could be other factors we don't know about.

Their prices change depending on the type of tux and accessories you choose. Ours are in the top band (typical!) and there is an additional charge for the shoes as they aren't the standard ones included in the rental fee.

We are sending in measurements at the end of this month, visiting the shop for a fitting on the Monday and they are delivering on the Tuesday when they steam my dress then we get married on the Wednesday.

They were quite happy to deliver the tuxes one day and steam my dress on another but we didn't need to do that as we only have 2 tuxes.

Thank you!!
Are you visiting another tailors/tux rental shop to get the measurements to send to CA or are you measuring yourself?
I will be having two adult tuxs and a tux for my 10 year old DS so I think the delivery and steaming will have to be done seperately!!

Hiya,

We'll probably do the measurements ourselves.

If the third tux is a childs one they may be able to bring it with them - well worth asking. I've found them to be so helpful and really accommodating.

I've found Keith at CA's very nice and helpful. Must measure Mike this week actually and get that sent off.

Isn't he great? I asked a question about Tim's suit and he came back with a brilliant email. He said that as Tim's suit was particularly snazzy he obviously had excellent taste which lead him to wonder how lovely his future bride must be!! Smooth-talking devil :lmao:

Thanks Alex
You have been so helpful!!

You are more than welcome, always glad to pass on info :thumbsup2
