Our family will be dining at Tutto Italia for dinner this weekend. DH does not really like dishes with tomato sauce. Can anyone recommend something they have had and really enjoyed?

I'm right there with him. I prefer cream, wine, or butter sauce to red sauce. Hopefully, you'll get many suggestions.

I got the panzotti, cheese ravioli in some sort of cream sauce with pancetta, last week. I do not recommend it. Sorry I couldn't recommend something I enjoyed! There was no balance in the dish it was sooooooo rich, but not in a good way. I had 2 ravioli and had to stop. :( I had really wanted to try sachetti (sp?), the pasta pillows filled w/ ricotta in a red sauce, but sadly it's off the menu. That dish got really good reviews.

I had this in December:
Cannelloni al Forno - baked with spinach, ricotta, bechamel and parmesan cheese

We'll be there Friday night and it's what I plan on ordering again.

It does have a light red sauce though, not "drenched" in it. Just enough.

My mouth is watering just reading these reviews.

In Sept I had:

Tagliolini con Granchio, Pomodorini Alle Erbe - tagliolini pasta topped with crabmeat, sweet tomato and garlic.
It was a 90 degree day so I really wanted to avoid anything heavy with cheese and sauce. :scared: This was very nice. It was filling but light.
We were on the dining plan so I didn't realize the price until I just looked at the menu on Allearsnet to find the name...I cannot believe this dish is $27.00:faint: . If you are on the dining plan it was worth it..if you are paying OOP it is not. yikes!

get the Farfalle! It was bowtie pasta in a creamy sauce - everyone at our table deemed it the winner. There is even a kid's version which my daughter loved.

In December I had the Farfalle (bowtie pasta with parmesan cream, pancetta, and peas - minus the pancetta and peas!) and it was awesome!! It was very rich but sooooooo good! DBFF had the canelloni which didn't have much red sauce on it and she really enjoyed that too! :)
