Tusker house

We are doing breakfast at the Tusker house, wanting good and bad experiences what to expect. I dont care about being overloaded with information because one can never be too prepared and with enough feedback we can pretty much know what to expect. thank you in advance for sharing from your experiences. One other thing we are doing the character breakfast, wanting to know what to expect with this as well.

We just ate at Tusker House for breakfast on the 23rd of December. We have always enjoyed the buffet breakfasts at Disney and this one certainly was enjoyable. We had reservations for around 9:30 during a very busy day at the park. By then, the Christmas rush was there and crowd levels were high. The wait time however, was not bad. We waited maybe 15 minutes max. The restaurant was decorated very nicely. Take notice mainly to the decorations in the food area. Very neat!
The character interaction here was quite good. We ate quite a few character meals this trip and this one ranked near the top for character interaction. The characters did not seem rushed going from table to table. This day, we saw Mickey, Daisy, Donald and Goofy. They were dressed for a safari.
Now on to the food. The food was VERY enjoyable. They had a large variety of food there ranging from Mickey waffles, sweet breads, eggs, bacon, sausage, fruits, donuts and ham. This is just a small listing of what was actually available. The ham was absolutely fantastic. Perhaps the best ham I've ever had. Everyone in our party loved it! The donuts were also very good. Somewhat comparable to Krispy Kreme.
I can honestly say we didn't eat a thing there that wasn't good. We had 7 in our party that day ranging from ages 4 to 50+ and everyone liked the food. I would definitely eat there again and recommend it to anyone looking for a great breakfast buffet.

We ate at the Tusker House breakfast buffet in December and had a great time. The decor is nice, and it was one of the better character meals we went to. The food was very good, with a few African-inspired dishes.

Thanks for the review! We have always eaten at Donald's Restaurantasaurus breakfast buffet every time we go and it was our favorite! We were sad to hear that they closed it and opened a new one in the Tusker House. It sounds like it's the same characters and same meal, just a different building. I am glad you had a great time! I can't wait for May to get here. I am so excited about our trip.

Daisy was the only plus. DD had waited a long time to meet her so in that sense it was worth every penny.
We ate here on Monday (Jan 14) and waited about 20 mins. past our adr. We were a party of 3 and seated along the sidewall and not the aisle making the seating very congested and hard for the characters to come to our table.
Food was basic breakfast items with a few dishes with an African flair. With the open market concept and no start or end for the food lines there was also alot of congestion here as well.
There is also a parade around the restaurant with the characters and children playing hand held music shakers.
The biggest issue was the non existent service. The dirty plates were never removed from the table even when he came to refill the juice glasses.
We also really enjoyed Donald's & 1900 Park Faire in the past. Glad we tried it but won't rush back.

First of all, my daughter overslept and we got a late start. Our breakfast reservations were for 8am and we arrived 15 minutes late. The hostess told us not to worry and we were called in about 5 minutes after checking in. Posed for pictures and ushered through the marketplace to our table. We were offered the jungle juice - yum, but unfortunately were never offered refills (that is the only negative). There was one person with a juice pitcher that never returned. Our server was excellent, keeping our other beverages filled and dirty plates removed.
We loved the presentation of the buffet as a marketplace. It is a large open area and you aren't crowded into a tight line. There is plenty of room for a lot of people to find anything they wanted. Each "cart" was a different type of food station and the marketplace was split in half, with each side having the same type of foods and carts. The rotisserie ham was delicious and the accompanying mustard sauce or mango chutney were delicious. The bobotie was great too. If you weren't in the mood to trying something different, there was plenty of bacon, sausage, eggs, cereal, fresh fruit, yogurts, breads, etc. You could look back into the kitchen and see all the chickens roasting on the rotisserie for lunch/dinner. We wished we were eating there later. We will definitely return on our next trip.
Micky, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy were all in their safari gear for their visit. Each came by the table visited and posed for all the pictures and autographs we requested. There was a great song complete with dancing and everyone had a great time.
We finished our breakfast, stuffed and so happy and ready to go on safari.

We ate there on Sunday, 1/13. We really enjoyed it. Our ADR was for 8:15 and we arrived by 8am. We were seated within 5 minutes.

Our server Jason, was very friendly and attentive. My older DD and I really liked the Jungle Juice - a blend of juices of which I now forget - sorry!

There was a nice selection of food and the serving area was big and open so you didn't feel crowded at all. There was the usual fruit, eggs, meats, including carved ham - yummy. There was a center section with a great selection of assorted pastries. Everything we tried was very good.

The highlight for us was meeting Daisy. All together, we saw Donald, Daisy, Micky and Goofy. They made their way around and spent time with each table.

It was a very relaxing and enjoyable breakfast. We didn't feel rushed at all and we enjoyed the characters and food. It will definitely be on our list again.
