Turkey Day Gang 2009

Count us in on the link for late. Hey Rob, how was the "other" cruise? Experiencing warm chocolate melting cake withdrawl :lmao::lmao:?

Also, welcome Lynn!

Hi Wendy (and all),

Andrew's luggage tags are really cute. He gets extra Mickey head paint chips from Home Depot (he asks for them and they give him an assortment), he puts name, address, cell phone number (or phone number) on the tag, decorates it with something he thinks is appropriate (and Disney themed) and then laminates it, puts a grommet in it and then creates a tie. They are really cute and tend to make a bag stand out from the crowd!

Yes I (we) are missing the melting cake:sad1: We had it 6 nights out of 8.

Rob

Hi Rob,

We were just looking at a cruise on the Carnival Dream this morning. Next year is my parent's 50th wedding anniversary and I'm trying to figure out what to do as a family for them.

It's funny, I told Steve that you were back and he asked if the cake was still good (not whether or not the cruise was good!). I guess we know where his priorities are :rotfl2::rotfl2:!

Karen

Hi Karen. We would love a few of Andrew's luggage tags. Put us down for 4 of them, and let me know what I owe you. Thanks!

Jodie

By the way...the luggage tags are free! They are his "early" contribution to the FE (and no, you don't have to be part of the FE group to participate!). Please do send me by PM or by email (msklcassidy@hotmail.com) your luggage tag info (i.e., name, address, city, state, zip and phone number you want on your tags).

Chuck, April and I would like to be linked in the second seating. I want her to meet all the great people I have cruised with before that will be at the second seating.

Karen, count us in on the t-shirts and thanks for offering to do them. When I cruised with my ex 4 years ago, I proudly wore mine and still do.

Ok, that is 4 positive replies on a dinner link in one day. I will be keeping a list over the next couple of weeks and will speak to Disney a bit later. The link is open to anyone on this thread and is not limited to the few I know by name from the past...in 2007 we had about 65 people and in 2005 i believe we had nearly 100 people - it was 28 cabins i think...i will get reservation numbers in a couple weeks..

Thanks for your work on the dinner link... It is really a fun time be with your fellow disers ! We were lucky on the 2007 to have Karen, Steve and Andrew as table mates, with Chuck, Lisa Mason and Lisa's room mate with us !!! Rob, Priscilla and family were close by. It was the best time ! We all shared a love of Disney and DVC and of course Disney Pins.

We hope Rob wears his special Disney attire on formal night.

I will have my "special" attire for formal night:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Priscilla will not let home with out it.

Hey do you guys still have your horse? We relented 2 months ago and bought Rachel a quarter horse that she named Vegas. The name came about because I kept telling her it would be a "long shot" that she would be able to own a horse while living at home with us paying the bills.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Rob

Rob:

We are still BIG into horses. We have Quarter Horses mostly( Jumping & Hunter) A couple Quarter Crosses ( Barrel Racing & Reining) Lindsey and Rachel had a great time sharing horse stories on the last cruise.

We have the Truck/Trailer and all that jazz too.. She loves it and she is our only one.

Hi everyone,

Well today has been filled with excitement. I had to cancel our September getaway to Disney as it won't work in the calendar anymore. Steve has stuff to do that week at work and it looks like I'm starting my new job that week!

Most of you know I work at a University and I thought I would be a "lifer" here...particularly with the tuition deal we get. But, in June I was approached by a local non-profit to work there and have recently accepted the offer as it was too good to pass up! Don't worry, the cruise has been marked as "sacred" and there is no cancelling it (we're even making our final payment on it next week).

What I am wondering is how many people taking this cruise are planning to attend Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party the night before? I'm hoping to talk Steve into it and was just wondering...:rolleyes1

More later,

Karen

Karen:

Congratulations on your job! I work for a non profit and it has been a great 15 years!

We are trying to work out going the night before also. We usually stay at MCO the night before which works out great, but we think that the Christmas Partyis going to be a blast.

Wendy

Karen -- Congratulations on your new job! I hope that you'll be happy and feel fulfilled. It's so important - we spend so much of our time at work.

About the party - I've subtly brought it up and so far I've been vetoed by DH. There is also one the night the cruise gets back and we don't fly home till Monday. I've even thought of me and the boys going if DH doesn't want to go. We could have lots of fun just going to MK for the evening. How much are tix for the party? I looked a couple of weeks ago and couldn't find it.

Sherri

I think the tickets are about 58 or so. I think you can find discounted tickets also. We think it will be great to hang in the Kingdom before we head off to the islands.

We have heard from many friends that the Party is really done up with all the Disney Magic. It will get all of us in the Holiday Spirit because the Magic will also be decorated for Christmas too.

Hope you can make it.

wendy

Hi Everyone,

Who says that Christmas doesn't come in July (or August)? After pointing out the advantages of gathering a bit of extra magic...and pointing out that I've been a good sport (and so has Andrew) for having BOTH of our Disney vacations cancelled this year, we ARE going to the MVMCP the night before the cruise!!!!!:dance3: Yes, I'm just a little bit happy about that...and I haven't even told Andrew who will be over the moon happy about it!

We're going to stay at one of the Monorail resorts (or Wilderness Lodge) to facilitate an easier trip to the Magic Kingdom and I'm thinking about doing Disney Quest that day (we all love the Pirates Virtual Game). We may do EPCOT instead though.

So, for all those who are going to the MVMCP on Friday night...do you want to meet up somewhere? Wendy, I know that Andrew is looking forward to seeing Lindsey (and pin trading!).

More later,

Karen

Hey, I just looked on the Disney website and you can get an advanced purchase discount which saves a few $ if you preorder your tickets. For the 3 of us it was $166 vs. $180.
