Turkey Day Gang 2009

And for insane weeks, I was in orlando yesterday, Daytona today, South Florida tomorrow and will be in Baltimore on Thursday for the weekend...I am already tired (of course that includes Disney this past weekend)...

Chuck:cool1:

Welcome to my corner of the world. It's finally gotten warm here so you'll feel right at home. Last week, it was still chilly a lot of the time

I'm impressed with your dinner reservation skills. That's a lot to be linking. I'm sure that when DCL sees your phone number this year, they'll be so happy to hear from you.

Have fun with all your travels. I'm jealous you got to see the mouse (or at least donate your money to him) this past weekend.

Wow, what great weekends everyone had. The weather was absolutely gorgeous. Did not want to go back to work today but as my bills need paying, I decided to drag myself there :badpc:

I think I will try ebay for a fish extender for the trip. I am not the crafty type unless it involves paper and pictures. I'll have to ask Wendy for some help with the door magnets if she is still making them and is not too busy.

As for dining, I am not sure what we are booked for. I do recall him asking and I believe I said early and he said if that is booked do you want to waitlist and I recall saying yes. But after reading some other posts, I am starting to wish we booked the later dining. But maybe I already have the later....I don't know, I don't think it was ever distinguished. :confused3 Oh well, It'll be a surprise.

BTW, thank you. My husband is thrilled that he doesn't have to wear a tux. Now if he can find the perfect fishing expedition on St. Martin, he'll be hooked for sure. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Elsie

Elsie,

I'm sure if you called DCL to change from early to late dining they wouldn't have any problem accomodating your request. I think it's only the other way (late to early) that you run into a problem!

Hi gang! I haven't checked in for a while. It's great to see lots of new faces joining us!

We love the late seating, too. Of course, we don't have any very young children in our group, so that makes a big difference.

The fish extender is lots of fun. My DD and niece loved seeing all of the goodies in their bags each day. It was also great exercise walking all over the ship each day to deliver our items. I enjoyed walking around and seeing all of the great door decorations, too.

We're up to 14 in my group so far, and may get as high as 17, if not more. I'm thrilled that my mother is joining us. She's never cruised before and she's really looking forward to it.

WOW!! That is wonderful that you're having such a big group going! I keep trying to talk my sister into going (she has 4 kids), but she doesn't want to book 2 cabins:( She has a set of twin 4 year old boys that just LOVE Mickey Mouse. If I had the money I would take them myself cause they would just be so-o-o excited!!!

I have some friends in that situation too - 4 kids. It really makes it expensive when you have to book 2 cabins and pay the adult rate on 2 of the kids. Although I've always felt that having 2 connecting cabins would be nice - the kids on one side and a private room for the hubbie and I. Could your sister bring grandma or someone else along to help defray the cost of one of her cabins? That would help some.

I tried to get my sister with 4 kids to join us, also, but the cost was just too much for them. I had even booked an extra room when we were on the Magic this past Thanksgiving, and was going to give them the OBC and the discount. My friend and her family are taking that room instead.

We have my family of 4, my SIL and her family, my mom, my MIL, my friends, and my SIL's neighbor in our group. It's a lot of work to coordinate everything, but I love the planning. :)

I love planning also, as you can see by already preparing for the 09 cruise!! I can't talk my parents into going either. Last cruise, some friends went with us and that was cool.

Well, it's just the 3 of us...no one joining in from our family (shhh...can I quietly say that I'm glad none of the inlaws and outlaws are joining us...I don't think I could handle them right now!). Here's an example...my SIL, BIL and 3 kids are going to Disney in 2 weeks...and she's not booked anything but a hotel room :scared1: !

Yep, that's what I mean. I know that I plan and plan...but when I'm spending a good amount of money on a vacation I want to be sure we do as many of the "must" items as possible. I think if the inlaws and outlaws were going I'd have to be carried away to the funny farm!

Bye for now...the shells continue to call me. (I just love Sanibel!)

Hello....we're home!!! Chuck, Mason and I went to Baltimore for the weekend. I then took a side trip for a day to be at my friend Sue's wedding!! :bride: Sue and her son Jacob sailed with us Thanksgiving 2005 and Thanksgiving 2007. Everyone at the wedding referred to me as her Disney cruise buddy and asked for information about booking!! :woohoo:  I love planning vacations!! :yay: :woohoo:

Well....2,800 miles later and we're home! Exhausted, tan and lots of laundry! We decided on Saturday to take a last minute detour and headed over to Port Canaveral to watch the shuttle lift off! We made it with 10 minutes to spare and what a sight it was. We all want to go again!

I love vacations....but hate the laundry!

Well Rachel just got out of school for the summer and we have just arrived in Maui. We will be here for the next 9 nights:thumbsup2 .

Rob

Rob -- enjoy Hawaii! Sounds like a great way to kick off summer.

Chuck & Lisa - welcome back home. Glad you had a good stay up here. Lisa--keep planning those vacations. It's always nice to be giving and helping make others' vacations better.

Anybody else have any good travel plans this summer? We're not going anywhere. I started a new job in October and hardly have any vacation time built up yet and DH just used his 1 week of time to recover from surgery. BUT, I convinced DH that we can go away in October and I booked airfare for Orlando at $54 each way - thank you Air Tran :worship:

We're going to WDW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (but shhhhhh.....don't tell the kids - we're surprising them)

Wow....ya'all have made great plans...Sanibel, Hawaii and Disney!! :thumbsup2 :cool1:

We will be home most of the summer except for 4th of July weekend on the Wonder!! :thumbsup2

Mason has 1 1/2 more days of school and then starting next monday he will be going to a partial overnight camp on the campus of Lynn University in Boca. He sleeps over mon-thurs nights in a college dorm and then comes home friday afternoon until the next monday. He will be at the camp for 9 weeks--3 weeks of science camp, 3 weeks of space camp and 3 weeks of magic camp. :wizard: He chose the program and is very excited!! :cool1: As the mom of only 1 child, I am very sad to see my "baby" leaving home!! :( :scared1:

Lisa
