Staying at SSR 11/1-11/11. Was going to try the Turf Club one night being it is our home resort now.

Anyone who has been there, do you think we would need an ADR? I am thinking not as I can't see many people making a special trip just to eat there. Probably just resort guests that don't want to leave.

What are your thoughts?

During our May trip we ate at the Turf Club twice. The first time we got there pretty close to closing w/ no ADR and were seated after about 5 minutes. We made an ADR for our second trip there, but it probably wasn't necessary. If you want to make one, go ahead, otherwise I wouldn't worry about it. Even if you have to wait, the lounge area is very nice.

Happy Eating!

I usually make ADRs for the Turf Club, but I'm not staying at SSR. So I want to be sure I can have a meal once I arrive!

It's one of my favourite TS locations at WDW. Much calmer than many of them! :)

I have read many people who make a special trip to SSR from other resorts to eat at The Turf Club. As a matter of fact, I overheard someone checking in and saying that they were CMs at the GF and were celebrating their Anniversary and they chose The Turf Club. We just ate there last Sunday night and LOVED it. We did make an ADR and it was full but I do think you could get in if you could wait a while. Enjoy:love:

We love the Turf Club. I think ADR's are never a bad idea, but I think you are very safe in making one last minute. Especially that time you are going. And I agree, the lounge is very nice.

I've seen it go both ways; none needed and good idea to have one. Last year we ate there twice and both times we had ADR's. The first evening people were walking up without ADR's and were seated oh, in about 15 minutes. The other night they were packed; and even with ADR's we had to want a little while. But like someone else said the lounge is nice and the drinks are quite good. :thumbsup2

Agree with the pp. We have seen it bith ways too.
They start serving dinner at 5, and serve lunch right up till then. (At least when we have been there around this time.)
You could go there right before or after 5 p.m. and have a better chance at walk up.

Interesting. We haven't eaten there, but the few times I've seen it it wasn't anywhere near full. I never thought that a PS would be necessary.

Id say make reservations just to be safe but its kind of out of the way for most people and not very well known although it is a very nice restaurant.

I made a reservation for the Turf Club for our trip in August. It will be our first visit. I would make an ADR, because the travel time is not fun to arrive and not get in.

For example: you seldom need an ADR for Trails End. I was pretty spoiled not needing one there and was staying at the Wilderness Lodge. Decided, lets take the boat over to TE for dinner. After the 45 minutes of waiting and boating, we arrive and find the wait time it 2 hours!!!!! If we had only gone to the front desk of WL to make an ADR we would've gotten in before the 2 groups of 45 and 30. Learned my lesson the hard way there after eating in roaring forks that night (WCC had no opennings either). So even for TE, I always make an ADR for dinner and weekends, or if I have a large group.

Even if you make an ADR for the Turf Club prior to commuting over to there, you'll know the wait won't be so bad if a large group arrives before you do.
