It's a pastry shell which is coated on the inside with chocolate. The entire shell is filled with vanilla custard, and then there's fresh fruit on top--strawberries, blueberries, and kiwi when we were there in July. DH and I love this one!
Mmmmmm! If this is the one at Sunshine Seasons, the pastry shell is made of shortbread, too. It's fantastic! (But the strawberry shortcake is even better, IMHO. )
OK. I just read another thread which said the TT was in France. Whatever the little fruit-topped, custard filled, shortbread based tart at SS is called... it's wonderful!
It was! There was blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries and this wonderful light creamy custard on the bottom. The shell was a bit soft but the rich dark chocolate combined with the fruit and custard was to die for. Cannot wait to get it again in April!
