TC, I'm happy that everything turned out well! It must have been very scary to have such bad pain flare.

Glad you are home now Tuff Cookie. Hope you have a speedy recovery!

Did you have the laproscopic surgery?

Take care of yourself. Don't try and do too much too soon.:thumbsup2

Hi TC,

Just seeing this thread now. I'm glad it all worked out, but how scary to have to go in like that. Please get well soon.

I'm glad to hear that the surgery is behind you, and you're starting to feel better. My prayers are with you for a speedy recovery.

This all started last Friday. I was working the concession stand at our high school football game. I was living it up too; eating sloppy joes, hot dogs, popcorn, several cups of hot chocolate...
*snork* It sounds like your gall bladder rebelled :rotfl:. I'm glad everything went OK and you feel well enough to go to work. Take it easy for the next few days .

Cindy, I am so glad you are home. I am sure you have been through an ordeal!! Take care and praying for your speedy recovery. I was wondering if you had it done laprascopically too. I did with this surgery and all I can say is ouch! and thank God for percocet!! Blessings to you always!!

This is the first that I have seen this thread. Glad your operation was successful and you are recuperating. Can't imagine the pain you endured! Take care of yourself.

Glad you are home. Sorry you had such a rough time. Get plenty of rest.

All I can say is, did somebody get the license number of the truck that hit me? My poor body is so sore! I do not like the way pain killers make me feel so I am doing without them. And yes to the posters that asked, I had laposcopic surgery. I have 4 small incisions all over my abdomen.

Now comes my next big problem...When the hospital released me, there were no diet instructions, only to stay away from fried foods. So now, I am afraid to eat anything! I have been drinking water and eating icee pops but sooner or later I've got to eat something!

I googled for information about diet dos and don'ts after gall bladder surgery and it makes it seem like my whole life style has to change! Everything I like they have on the don't list!

My mom had gall bladder surgery but it didn't stop her from eating what she wanted.

My question to those of you who have gone thru this: do you eat whatever you want but maybe lessen the quantity or are there certain foods that you cannot tolerate at all?

Help!!!

Tuffcookie:cool1:

If I eat very much rich and/or greasy food, it affects me. It gives me diarrhea. Sorry if that's TMI. If I avoid these types of foods, then I get along fine.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery!!

No, that's not too much information. I need to know what to expect!

Thanks for your response!

So glad to see you back! Happy you are on the mend.

Oh I can relate- when I found out I had High blood pressure-I wouldn't eat anything. I was eating salad- no dressing. I was convinced anything that I ate would make me have a heart attack.

then I got information. I read up and found out what to avoid and what worked for me. And I'm doing fine now. I hope the same for you with your gallblader recovery!

I made it out in the car today. I went to Subway and got one of the Jared specials. I got a turkey sandwich (6"), cut it in half and decided to try that and see how it went. It went okay!

I later went to the grocery store and got all kinds of things I think I might be able to eat. Key words are BLAND and LOW FAT!

My diet hasn't changed since I had mine out. Like another poster said, sometimes I get urgent diarrhea from greasy foods. But I had that happen before the gallbladder came out so it wasn't much change for me.

Sorry you are still sore. Hope that goes away soon.

Hope you are feeling better Cindy. Glad to hear you got to eat something. Wow, you are doing alot already! I havent even driven yet. My stomach is killing me today. How long will you be out of work?
