Awe! Well Thanks anyway ! I'll get to see you that Tuesday!

Can't wait ! I've never done an Illuminations Cruise before...this is my first !

I've lucked onto a couple nice families... one who is organizing it and has done this before... It will be a TOTAL surprise for DS18...

I'm just walking him to the Yacht Club and then will say ... "Here is your last surprise of the trip!"... then we'll board the boat and enjoy the cruise !

We leave the next morning and drive 10 hours home...

Hugs,
Mary

Thanks - I fly on the 7th May but the way this thing is going, or not going, who knows what's going to happen. :confused3

Hello All !

Princess - I am reading your Pre-Trip Report... and I have SO much to reply back...I will surely forget it all...

Anyway - I am at the part where you know the SAB slide will be closed during our visit... YES I was a bit bummed at that...BUT not much...

It will be our 4th time at BC... (but haven't tried BCV) BUT we LOVE SAB...even without the large slide... so cheer up ...I think we have the 'best of both worlds..." SAB has a LOT your DS will love... and NOW you have use of BW Pool and so you have TWO great pool areas to enjoy... So I am thinking positive... THE BW slide is the better one I THINK! (I must have read that somewhere) BUT SAB is just FABULOUS and your DS (I believe) will LOVE it ! :cool1:

You and I are just about the same age... I was afraid of ToT but now I enjoy it... You will too.. although I may never have gotten on the ride if I had had your elevator experience. :scared1:

Clare - I heard that on the news this week..and thought about you but I immediately KNEW that this would not affect you... (Sending Positive VIBES your way)...there's NO WAY that anything will stop your flight... I just KNOW IT ! :goodvibes

HUGS,

Mary

Princess - One other thing to mention...

(don't tell Walt I've 'cheated' on him...he doesn't know) But...

I've 'done' US/IoA ( IN One Day each time) in '09, '08, '06, and '04...Of course the "new stuff" (HP, Rip Ride Rocket) was not built...but if you have any other questions about that... let me know...

Also - for CS recommendation for MK...COSMIC RAYS.... they have a Rib/Chicken/Mashed Potatoes/GreenBeans/Cake CS platter that is REALLY good...and you can probably split yours with DS9... and he can also have the kids as well...

Hugs,
Mary

Thanks Mary. DH and I have talked it over. With HP not opened, we're not going to go and we'll stay at the World. Don't tell DH but this means that we'll have to come back sometime :thumbsup2.
Thanks for the tip on Cosmic Rays....I'll have to keep it on the radar. DH is vegetarian (but eats seafood); so we'll need to cater for the full spectrum of diets.

Looking forward to your replies in my PTR....otherwise, see you at the world soon.

Hey Princess! Well - with the Whole family in '08... I 'found' Cosmic Rays because I was having to plan around DSD#2...who then had decided to be Vegetarian for a year (but would eat seafood).... So I had to pour over menus to make sure she would be able to eat... Cosmic Rays has the BEST selection of CS food at MK (IMHO)....Hang on...I'll try to figure out what she ordered there...

Oh - they have a veggie burger, a veggie wrap and a salad... I believe she had the Veggie Wrap.

LOVE your plan of 'going back' to see US/IoA... We had never tried US/IoA until the kids were older... :cool1:

You, myself and Clare...seem to have that in common... Our Guys just don't "get Disney".... Oh well - we just have to be creative to make our way back to the 'world'...:lmao:

Clare - what are they saying about the volcano's ???

Hugs to all,

Mary

Hi all! Sorry I've been away. It's been hectic here lately. DS broke his foot last week in Phys Ed. He dropped a 45lb weight on it.:scared1: He'll be on crutches for 2 weeks. Full recovery by the time I leave for WDW.:goodvibes Good news for DH who will be playing Mr. Mom while I'm away on my Mother's Day retreat:cloud9:

Is anyone going to be around earlier say around 7:30 or 8:00? Is it still by the pool?

it's all very confusing here Mary, the UK airspace is still closed so no flights in/out, it's currently closed until tomorrow morming. However, there have been test flights in Europe and one going up in the UK very soon (a BA jumbo), some airlines are now saying the authorities here are over-reacting and some are saying as a result of that normal operations will commence hopefully very soon. It's anybodies guess really, the volcano is still erupting ash into the atmosphere, but let's face it, how bad is it really? enough *really* to stop flying?

It's doing my head in as I've now ground to a halt re. getting excited about my holiday, I just want this volcano to stop!

Hey Deb! Wow that's too bad for DS! I don't see his age...but my DS dropped a table on his toe in middle school and smashed it... I hope your DS gets well very soon! What are your special Mothers day plans? I'll be driving in with DS...so just the 2 of us... it will be special.

You can probably head to SAB early Deb! I have HDDR ADR's at 5p...'they say' it's a 2 hour show... but If I can get there a bit early I will... Hoping I can beg DH to make a poster or table topper for us so we will be identified... and I'll have a lime (sorta) green shirt on...

Hugs,
Mary

Oh Clare ! I am sorry for this craziness - hope it's like you say...just a bit of over-reacting and they'll open up flights soon... When I heard of it...I never thought it would affect May flights... hopefully that will be the case... I'm thinking positive...I'm thinking positive :cloud9:

I'm headed to the Beach with the High School Band with DS18 this weekend (Festival / competition)...after that - I'll be "ALL about DIS" (although that's pretty much the way things are anyway)

DEB - forgot to reply to your question...YES - it looks as though we are at SAB as close to Hurricane Hanna's as we can get (though HH's will be closed when we meet). CLEAR DAY.
Boardwalk's Belle vue lounge if it's a RAINY day....

Hugs,
Mary

Clare - I hope that things work out for you. I'm sorry for all the other Europeans that had trips booked and are now wondering when to re-book for. Sending positive thoughts for the authorities to do the safe thing first....and hopefully this will also coincide with them allowing the routes to be opened up again. Here's to seeing you in May!

Maybe we'll be able to make it, however we have little ones, so we might be in bed. We are staying at BCV and May 11 is our AK day, so we plan to hang out at the hotel that night. I'll swing by if the kids are still up (not sure if kids are allowed at the DISMeet though?)

It's looking more positive as within the last couple of hours it's been announced that UK airspace is going to start opening up tomorrow - fingers crossed it keeps open :goodvibes

Hey DJP - Please plan to drop by and visit with us for a while ! We'd love to meet you !

We'll be at SAB as close to Hurricane Hanna's as we can get... so maybe the kids can enjoy an evening swim and you and DH can take turns keeping an eye on them while we chat and visit ..... (Or To be read... DH keeps an eye on the kids so you can sit and chat with us !:rotfl:)

May 11 is our AK day as well... so I planned HDDR as our ADR for 5p... headed straight to the DISMEET right after that...

Hope to see you there !

Hugs,
Mary

Thanks Mary but it's gone pearshaped again :( Apparently the volcano eruption strengthened last night and more ash is on its way so the London airports remain closed. My contingency plan is if I'm unable to fly on the 7th May I'll opt for a December trip as the airline will refund my flight cost and Disney will move my booking, but I so want my May trip to happen.
