There are accepted standards for what people wear in public in this country.
Absolutely. As I said earlier on in this thread, the Florida Statutes are what specifies what is and is not acceptable, in the Orlando area. In addition, Disney can, by fiat, apply any additional restrictions they wish, but they generally have deferred to the Florida Statutes on this matter.

I don't think it matters what size, shape, or age you are....you are at Disney World (a Theme Park) NOT the beach....leave your swimsuit at the home (or the hotel)!! I think it is totally inappropriate to wear a bikini top out in public unless you are swimming. And no I am not old or out of shape, just raised to have class and dignity.

In April an older lady (mom) was wearing a halter on Everest and her breast came out. No one noticed it until she was stepping out of the train and then of course, when the photos were displayed (it looked like another head)!

tube tops fall down. they do! I've seen it happen. Kids don't need to see that.

Halter tops are not bad if they are tasteful, but it sounds like the person denied entrance in the other post was wearing a very revealing one (they said it was like a swimsuit top, which is not allowed in MK).

YES TUBE TOPS DO FALL DOWN BUT IF YOUR A PRUDE LIKE MYSELF NO KID WOULD BE ABLE TO SEE AS I WOULD HAVE SORTED MYSELF OUT ASAP AND IT'S OK IF YOUR WEARING UNDERWEAR NO DIFFERENT THAN SEEING SOMEONE IN A BIKINI IN A WATERPARK BUT IF NO UNDERWEAR THEN THATS A DIFFERENT STORY I SUPPOSE IT'S JUST TO STOP ANY OFF THE FOOLISH FLASHERS AT THE PHOTO POINT ON THE RIDE pirate:

I wore a halter neck to Port Aventura last month in Spain. I came off a ride and had lost my bra and the top went up. It was a very fast coaster, so will be more careful in WDW.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: SORRY HOW ON EARTH DID YOU LOOSE YOUR BRA????

The fact they had to invent words like "tankini" means that someone is trying to find a way to expose more and more.

(copied from another post)
I don't know whether there is a term for it but I had this tank top similar to what some weightlifters wear and that consisted of little more than one strap in back and a bib with two straps in front. I got away with wearing that in Disney. I stopped wearing it outdoors after some surgery to remove a mole from my shoulder. It's not fun having to zigzag from under one awning to under another and find circuitous routes through stores to reduce sunburn.

I'm sure guys would wear tube tops also -- if there was a way to keep the tops from falling down every ten seconds given the shape of the body.

Tankini = two piece swimsuit (like a bikini) but covers bust, stomach, etc. like a regular tank top. Thus the new word. It's really not an attempt to expose more!

I am uncomfortable wearing a bikini, but I am very comfortable in a tankini because it covers just as much as a one-piece swimsuit. I can also wear the top with a pair of shorts to keep cool and comfortable.

Working at MGM Studios, I have never seen anyone get denied entry for their clothing choice, unless they were not wearing shoes. Bathing suits, halters/tubes, even someone was wearing a black bra with a white unbuttoned shirt over it. (actually I've seen that a lot)... I wouldn't worry.

I think Disney needs to enforce a bra policy - all women over a C cup must be wearing a bra. There should be a checkpoint specifically for this. All violators must squish themselves into a sports bra covered by a turtleneck.

And they should do an underwear check too. All women with low rise pants (or shorts) should have to sit down, and if any whale tail (thong above the pants) or coin slot (butt crack showing) is exposed they should be issued a pair of granny panties.

I'm still working on the policies for men but we definitely need to do something about all the chest hair. Oh, and let's not forget the men in tank tops with an overabundance of pit hair sticking out the sides. They will be dealt with most severely of all.

As I've said I'm still working on it. ;)

Reminds me of the women I see shopping in the JRs department who should not even be thinking about shopping in hte JRs department.

I have a well endowed yet perky chest, and to be honest I would not feel right wearing anything strapless. I guess I'm too petrified of toally letting the girls see the world.

i would just bring an extra shirt just in case. I would never wear a tube top, just too......whatever.

but i do have a halter summer dress that i hope is okay. it doesn't tie at the top and it's pretty high in the chest area.

I gotta tell ya, these stories are just way too funny. I love the one about the woman's **** falling out on EE and it looking like a head on the pictures :lmao: . I wonder if she bought it for a keepsake?

I think some people don't have any taste or decency. If you are a small breasted woman, I see nothing wrong with wearing a tube top as long as it's secure and nothing can fall out.
I could not or would not wear anything like that not with 34DD, I would give myself 2 black eyes. I also don't understand the huge breasted women that wear the tops with the "shelf bra" and nothing else. OMG these women look terrible....it's almost obsene. Their ****s are sitting on their fanny pack. Do they really think that little piece of elastic is going to hold up 25 lbs of ****s?

There are many bras that are comfortable, supportive and have straps in all different ways. People think that if they wear less clothing they will be cooler, but actually the opposite is true. Light shirts and shorts of natural light fiber will keep you cooler as it wisks away moisture from your body.

By halter tops is everyone referring to bathing suit tops??

I have halter tops but ther are more of a shirt, they have buttons and are made of cotton (like a cotton shirt) basically they are collored shirts without sleeves. I wear those (and with a bra), but believe me nothing falls out and nothing is exposed. I don't wear them in the parks though, because they are half backless, I get grossed out sitting in a seat that has sweat on it and it getting on my skin. So it's JCrew tees for me.

Thanks for the :rotfl2:

A little off topic but men should not be allowed to wear sleaveless shirts. Who wants to see some guy's pits.

Nothing like the smell of GAPO (gorilla arm pit odor) on a hot summers day.

Sadly however, the sleeves have nothing to do with it, it's all about personal hygiene.

I don't think they should put restrictions on any clothing. As long as it does not reveal what they cannot show on TV at a glance, leave them alone. I don't really care what other people where, and kids tend not to notice either.

It just might have something to do with the near 100% humidity in summer too, but that's just a guess
