TTC thread take 2

ok let's all do the AF rain dance, then maybe she'll show for the 3 of us!

I want to be added to the dance but I want my a few days late so she doesn't come hang out with me in Disney World.

I had a good dr appointment this week and you guys will be the only ones that get it. No new cysts other then the normal middle of the month one. :woohoo: Plus my fibroid has not grown so I don't need a hysterectomy this summer like she warned me I would. It is still huge and lays on my bladder so I have to go to the bathroom all the time but who cares. I don't have to get the plumbing yanked yet :dance3:

Hi all!

Just wanted to give a quick update. I had my retrieval done yesterday and they harvested 8 eggs. After the procedure, I had some pretty severe cramping, nausea and vomiting, so I was in the hospital for quite a few hours. Apparently, I didn't do well with the anesthesia which caused the nausea and vomiting. My doctor thinks that my residual endo caused the cramping, but it went away after a few hours. I'm feeling much better today. I'm still a little tender in my abdomen and my chest seems to have taken on a mind of it's own. I feel like I'm walking around with someone else's chest and they are incredibly tender/painful. As I understand it, the ongoing progesterone supplements will cause that to continue, so I just better get used to it!

We just got the call from the IVF lab and it seems that 6 of the eggs fertilized. 2 were discarded. One wasn't mature enough and the other fertilized abnormally. At this point, things look good with the 6 and we will get an update tomorrow. We are tentatively planning on a 3 day transfer pending what they see tomorrow. If all 6 progress very well, we may extend to 5 days for the transfer.

That's about it! Hope everyone is having a nice weekend! I'm just relaxing pretty much all day and letting DH spoil me. :lovestruc

Any progress on AF arriving for those of you waiting? Fingers crossed for you ladies! :tink:

AF is here! Never thought I'd be happy to say that. :lmao:

I go in next week to have the HSG and then we go from there. Ken and I don't want to do the IUI unless we have to. We want to try the more fun way. :rotfl: first. Then, do IUI if that doesn't work. Now that my AF is getting normal, it just might work!

Kenny and I both had a feeling in our minds that we should go to Disney this summer and ride all the rides we want before the fall. Similar thing happened to my parents....two months later....ma was preggo with me. :rotfl2:

I'm having a freak out right now though....what if I'm no good at being a mom? I'm scurred!!!!!!

The dancing must have worked, AF showed up on Saturday and I went in this morning for my baseline ultrasound. Everything checked out fine so was given the go ahead for this cycle.

Cherbear did she show up for you yet?

that is great Gabbie!

WOOHOO!!!! That's great!

Cherbear did she show up for you yet?

yes finally!!! I should have posted on Saturday BUT I was with a friend of mine all day after AF arrived. It is my friend who I shared my eggs with the first time around. Well.....she's pregnant!!!!!!! I am sooooo thrilled for her!! She did 2 rounds of donor embryo, and the first one didn't work. But this one most certainly did! Beta of 271 today. :goodvibes

I had my baseline appt today and just waiting on the official "go ahead" call now. I had 5 antral follicles...which is not great. But hopefully the high dose of meds can recruit more.
My dr is on vacation so I suspect it just is taking longer for her to call them back with her confirmation of my starting today.

Hi Ladies!

We did the transfer yesterday! Of the 6 eggs that were fertilized, only 3 developed. Our RE and the embryologist recommended that we transfer all 3, leaving none to be frozen. We were fine with that plan.

In terms of grading, we had an 8 cell A- grade, an 8 cell B grade and a 6 cell B grade. Me RE said she was very happy with that and optimistic about our chances. We did ICSI for the fertilization process and the embryologist also performed an assisted hatching procedure on the embies. Hopefully that will help them get comfy and they will stay a while. :goodvibes

I went to acupuncture before and after the transfer and have been on bed rest since the transfer. I did do the stairs at our home once before I realized that was forbidden. My acupuncturist, who is much more conservative than my RE, recommended no stairs and extra bed rest. I actually slept on the couch last night to avoid the stairs and will continue on bed rest today.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Oh I'm so happy you are now PUPO!!!! (pregnant until proven otherwise)

I'm sorry that only 3 fertilized, but so glad that you chose to transfer all 3. I'm praying very hard for you!

Can I ask you what was their reasoning for performing assisted hatching? Did they do it on all 3 embryos?

glad you are resting! And drink lots of water :goodvibes

Thanks for all of you good thoughts! I'm praying for you too!

We didn't know they were going to do the assisted hatching until the embryologist met with us and said it had been done. He said that they have experienced higher implantation rates with the assisted hatching and both our RE and insurance agreed with the recommendation. They did it on all 3 embies.

We were happy to include anything that improves our chances, but honestly surprised that our insurance approved it since I'm young and this was our first IVF cycle. We had to jump through a few hoops to get the ICSI approved, so we never considered assisted hatching a possibility for this cycle.

How are you feeling with the stims? Can't wait to hear how your first monitoring appointment goes! So excited for you!!!!:cheer2:

ah, interesting!! I hope it is just the right combo for you :goodvibes

I actually had my first monitoring appointment today. And good thing too...the high dose they have me on will likely be brought down. (or at least the menopur). I have 7 follies (actually I am sure I saw 2 more that the u/s tech didn't even count) and 2 of them are already at 10 mm!!!! :scared1:

It's definitely a little worrysome...we don't want to risk all those follicles "taking all the medication". So I think if she decreases the menopur, and possibly increases the follistim, it should help more follies to pop up, and even out all the sizes a bit.

My dr was on vacation (in Turkey) and has returned today, so she's really busy. My bloodwork should have been done at 11 (almost 2 hours ago) so hopefully she will be able to look at my numbers soon and decide what to do from there. I am trying to stay as calm as possible, and put this in God's hands (and the doctor's)

That sounds very positive to me! Enjoy the rest--this whole TTC thing is so stressful, sometimes I think a few days of rest are just the thing we all need.

Wow! You really responded to the meds quickly! I'm glad that your doctor did an early monitoring appointment for you so that they could make any necessary changes. I'm sure it will still work out great since you are so early in the stim process. I'm crossing everything for ya!

Thanks Elisabeth! DH has been really great while I've been resting. Plus, I think our little shih tzu knows I'm not feeling well and just wants to snuggle up by me. Sometimes, that's exactly what I need. :lovestruc

Did AF show up for you yet? It's still such great news that the Clomid got you to ovulate. :goodvibes

Glad to hear that the transfer went well. I will be praying for you and those 3 little embies! :goodvibes

I really appreciate your good thoughts! Are you still testing on Friday? Baby dust and prayers to you, Joanne! :grouphug:

Yes, she did show up on CD31. So it would appear that I can in fact ovulate on CD14 but not start AF until after CD28. Since the 100mg of Clomid worked, I'm on that again this month. After this, I will talk to my doctor about next steps.

What's that about women who live together all get AF at the same time? Must work here on these boards too! LOL

So I called Walgreens Specialty pharmacy to order my injectibles for the month. I needed 13 vials of Bravelle but I only had 12 remaining for refills. So I said ok I'll have my Dr's office call in for the other one (which a normal pharmacy will call your dr on your behalf but obviously they don't) So anyway the Dr's office sends the authorization for the 1 more vial. So I call Walgreens back and tell them to send the 13 vials but it takes several hours for the authorization to be available in their system but they can see it has arrived. Ok fine, Walgreens says they will call me when it's ready to go later that night. They never call.

So the next morning DH gets a call confirming the total and he asks if it's for 13 vials and they confirm yes it is. When I get home from work they call again confirming the total for the 13 vials. Which I thought was strange since DH had already talked to them earlier but I thought maybe they needed to talk directly to me to confirm the charge to my credit card. I also remembered that I forgot to order my HCG shot so she adds that to the order.

So yesterday I get my order. Well actually I get 2 orders. One package with 13 vials and the HCG shot and the other package with 12 vials. UGH!! Here I had to go through all of this to add just 1 more vial and then they mess up and send me an extra 12. So anyway I call them up as they have charged me twice on my credit card. I speak to a supervisor and she says she'll have to research it to see if was their fault that they sent the extra package and will call me back later. I was out for the evening but no call when I got home.

It's so annoying when someone says they will call back and they never do and they did it twice. Anyway hopefully today they get it figured out that they messed up - hopefully the research involves listening to the phone calls.

While I am talking about Walgreens the other thing that is really strange is that the 1st month when I ordered the bravelle it was for 10 vials and that was the exact same price for 13 vials this month. Now the 2nd month I took 11 vials and then had to reorder 2 more per dr's orders and I was charged 1/2 the total price for ordering those 2 more vials separately but if I would have order the 13 on the initial order I know now there would have been no extra cost. Anyway that doesn't make sense!

Thanks for letting me vent. This is why I don't even shop at my local Walgreens.

UPDATE: well after 4 calls today back and forth they realized that the error was on their side. What's really weird is I only had authorization for 13 vials so how I got 25 vials they can't figure out how their system allowed it. Then I though geez I wonder how much I could re-sell them for, I did a quick google search and wow a lot more than what I paid. However reselling drugs even legal ones seems a little strange to me so they are going back to Walgreens.

Hi ladies! I'm not a frequent visitor, just an occassional browser of this thread. I post a few times awhile back but we are full on the TTC bandwagon now.

I spoke with my GYN yesterday regarding my bloodwork and DH's s/a and it looks like we are now being passed over to a reproductive endocrinologist. DH's s/a was borderline low on morphology and motility, she said normally they wouldn't be concerned at all but since my bloodwork is pointing towards PCOS and I haven't gotten a positive ovul test on my at home tests its time to see an expert. I can't even explain how sad I am right now. The first appointment I can get is over a month away, it's going to be a long, long month.

Well, yet another BFN for me.:sad::sad::sad: I'll have the pleasure of getting to go thru all this for yet another month. No 2011 baby for me :sad2::sad2::sad2::sad2:
