TTC thread take 2

I also can't STAND pads!!! Ever since the day I discovered how to use a tampon (at 16 before going to a water park), I never looked back!

So I wanted to try out my new siggie. Notice anything??

yep, I am "coming out" on the DIS. No one I know IRL (who doesn't already know our struggles) is on here. I guess I just needed a ticker so I decided to make this one. TTC is, afterall, the only reason we haven't had a trip since 2009. Once we started treatments, we couldn't/can't afford Disney anymore.

I'm so sorry Jenm. :sad1::hug:

Yeah Cher. I noticed it right away. I understand completely. Kenny and I are doing shorter trips now (except for the longer one in Sept). We are planning ahead for ttc and are opening a savings account for it. It will all come down to what we need. If the dx says IVF, I don't know. Our insurance pays diddly squat. That may end up being a huge factor in our decision unfortunately. :sad1:

We just got back from our 8 week ultrasound. There was a heartbeat last week, but the baby hasn't grown and they couldn't find a heartbeat. We're absolutely devestated. It's amazing how much I loved the little guy already. I just needed to share. I guess it's back to the beginning for us. :sad1:

I'm so sorry. :sad1: We had the same experience a little over a year ago. It was a very difficult time (especially for me) but after taking our time to grieve we have been able to move forward again.

Cheri - That story completely cracked me up. The image of you waking up to a drawn picture of your DH throwing the pills in the toilet is hilarious! I'm glad to hear I'm not alone in the BCP madness, but sorry you had to deal with it too! Thanks for the laugh!

Acupuncture went well. I definitely felt very relaxed afterwards. She suggested that I go weekly, but DH and I are going out of town next week, so we scheduled another appointment for soon after we get back. A few interesting things my acupuncturist suggested:

-She would rather I drink a six-pack of beer before having a Diet Coke. She insisted the Diet drinks are awful for you in general and horrible with TTC. I rarely drink them, but she was super passionate about it.

-With endo, she suggested never using tampons while on AF. I thought that was interesting. Something about tampons not allowing the system to fully cleanse itself. I'm not sure how I feel about that one and will probably follow-up with my RE.

So overall, I enjoyed it. We spent about 30 minutes going over my history and then another 45 or so with the actual acupuncture. She put 15 needles in total. 1 in my forehead, 1 in each foot, 1 in each hand, 3 in each leg and 4 in my lower abdomen. The only one that kind of hurt was on my forehead. She mentioned the possibility of using herbs too, but said she would like to hold off for now. It was pretty interesting.
I have not done acupuncture in yrs (back when we were trying) But I found it helped so much. The only ones I thought hurt were the ones she did on my big toes

I saw your siggy right away

Coming out here.
I changed to cloth pads about 6yrs ago. It was the best move I have ever done. Instead of cramping for days, I am down to about 8 hours and they are very easy cramps now. I use to bleed for 14 days a month at least, if not more. Now I am down to 7 or 8 days. It is way lighter too.
Yes I have bought cloth pads with on both my Disney trips and I would (will do it again) I really believe the chemicals in pads are part of my infertility problems. I also refuse to use disposable diapers on my kids unless I have too. :rolleyes1

Your siggie ROCKS :thumbsup2 Love it!
I am in the same boat as you as far as not being able to afford Disney or anything else for that matter with all these medical expenses. I feel like I have been going non stop for 2 years straight and haven't had a vacation, not even a long weekend trip.

Oh jenm, :hug:Cher is right, there just are not words. I am so sad for you and angry too. This shouldn't happen to anyone but especially someone struggling w/ infertility.
We are here for you and will do whatever we can to help you get through this.

My RE was far more concerned about caffeine (and Ibuprofen of all things) than alcohol interfering with TTC.

I took that as a greenlight to drink. ;)

I'm glad to keep reading that, makes me feel like it's worth giving it up! Did he say no Ibuprofin during the 2WW, or none at all?

Oh no! So sorry, my heart is breaking for you! Praying for you and hoping that you have supportive people you can surround yourself with. Thinking and hoping that a Rainbow will be coming soon for you!

Just got off the phone with my insurance company. Good news! It looks like at least some of my treatment MAY be covered! IVF is a big NO though. They are processing my paperwork and would let me know how much would be covered!!!! So that's good news!!!! :yay:

So sorry Jenm. I know there's nothing anyone can say to make the hurt go away. Just know we are here for you.

We had our appt with the RE today. Long story short is that he is giving us the green light to do whatever we want, which is good. His recommendations is to try injectables w/ IUI for a few cycles and if that doesn't work then move on to IVF. The only real identified problem so far is that my lining tends to be thin. He said for most people injectables will help improve your lining but not for everyone. So we will try injectables for 2 cycles and if the lining doesn't improve we'll move on to IVF. Or if the lining is ok we will try injectables for 3 cycles and then IVF.
So we are taking this cycle "off" from TTC, we'll do our injectables teaching with the RN, and wait a few weeks till CD1 and get started on to the next phase of treatment!

It was more of a fertility thing... ibuprofen can hurt chances of conceiving (can't remember why, though).

Well I got some bad news today. I went for my beta and it was 5. I am so sad. :sad1:

Guess who has a zombie tooth? That's what my new dentist, my mom's dentist told me today.

I love him! He's an awesome dentist! Everyone there was nice! Ive never seen people happy to go to the dentist, but they were! There's usually a long wait to get into see him, but my parents are patients and my mom got me right in!

Anyhoo, I will have to have it extracted. It's in the back, so chances are, no one is going to see it. That's what's been causing me all this pain...a tooth! Turns out, the tooth was DOA when my old dentist tried to fix it and it's dying anyway.

The price: 108.00 Not too bad! The visit was free today. He sent me home with a scrip for steroids for pain and anti-biototics. They are helping.

So I go in Wed. at 9:30 a.m. Hubby is coming in with me. I'm scurred! I had a bad expereince last time I had an extraction. I have long roots and let's just say....I felt it. :scared1::sad1: Ma said he's great though and I won't feel a thing. Hope so.

Oh man...

my clinic actually says that 5 to 9 is borderline (could go either way)...my beta's have always been like a 2 or 1. If I had gotten a 5 I think they would re-test in a few days. Did they not even say anything with regards to a re-draw?? I hope it was just too early
