We are new to DW and I’m confused by the TTC. Day 1 we are going to MK and day 2 HS. If we end up booking a 3rd it would be AK.

Once you park at TTC what is the best way to get to those parks? I looked online and only found one review that explains the process but it seems like it doesn’t have current info.

if parking gates open 1 hour early should we just walk from TTC? We also need to hit Will Call to pick up our hard copy tickets.

I appreciate any advice you have.

So, the TTC can get you to MK.

Driving (or taking the bus if you're staying on property) is probably the best bet for HS and AK.

Not sure I understand your last question... just walk where from TTC? You can't walk to MK from TTC - you can take the monorail, bus, or ferry. :)

I was thinking we could walk to MK. The old page I found that detailed the TTC said it was about a 30 minute walk.

When driving, the TTC is the parking lot for MK. There is transportation that will get you from there to MK. You could walk, but it would be long. Maybe 30 minutes at a good pace. You have to walk from TTC to Poly, Poly to GF, GF to MK. It is not worth it. The ferry and monorail are clearly marked and will take you near the front entrance to MK.

The other parks have their own parking lots. You will park in them and walk to the park entrances.

It might help to know where you are staying.

As ElizabethG said, you will only use the TTC under certain circumstances.

If you are staying on WDW property and choose to use WDW transportation, you may not use the TTC at all.

TTC is essentially the hub for anyone arriving at MK that's not walking or not coming on a Disney bus. So if you're driving/parking, arriving via a hotel shuttle (non-Disney), or arriving via taxi/rideshare, you will be dropped off at TTC. From TTC, you can either take a Disney bus, ride the monorail, or ride the ferry to MK. There's good signage and its relatively quick. I *think* the only way to walk would be to walk from TTC to Poly to GF via the new walking path and then follow that to MK. But IMO, that's really unnecessary - the transportation options from TTC to MK are fine.

If you're driving yourself to DHS and AK, you can park right at those parks. No need to park at TTC and there's not transfer point from those lots either - you can walk right to the gates as normal.

just asking but are you used to going to Disneyland? if so the parks are not close like there. the TTC is only for Magic Kingdom and yes you could walk as someone said but will take you a lot longer to get there as no direct route to walk. you park at the other parks in their lots not the TTC and bus there as there are no buses to the other parks

You CAN walk from TTC to MK, it just takes a while and isn't the most efficient. Pretty walk though if you have the time.

Sorry, I should have added that. We are staying off-site and will be driving in with our own car and will need to park.

If new to Disneyworld, should check out one of the property maps to get a general idea where all of the parks/hotels are located. TTC is mostly for MK (boat or monorail) and while not currently operating, you could also take the monorail to Epcot. Walking to MK from the TTC is a LONG way (via Polynesian/Floridian) and not something I would recommend unless you don't mind that extra distance in additions to the miles you will likely walk while at the park.

OK Great. So what you will do is park is the MK parking lot for MK. The TTC is at one end of the MK parking lot. From the TTC, you can take either the Monorail, a bus or a boat over to MK. As others have said you can walk but you really don't want to.

For the other parks, you will park in a completely different parking lot. None of them have anything like a TTC.

Keep in mind that all the signage when you are driving there will just say "Magic Kingdom", the road signs won't mention the TTC, if I recall correctly. You'll park, then walk with the rest of the crowd (or take the parking shuttle, if that's running when you're there) up to the security area. Once you're through security, you'll be right in front of the ticket booths where you should be able to pick up your tickets.

Then once you pass the ticket booths, you can go either to the ferry boat to the left or the monorail straight ahead. I always felt like the monorail was faster than the ferry, even if there was a long line, as long as the trains hadn't stopped entirely because the ferry took so long to load and unload, but I don't know if that's still accurate with the social distancing systems in place. Sometimes they'll also have buses going from there to the front of MK as well, but I think that's only if the monorails aren't running for any reason.

Once you get off whichever transport you pick, you'll be at the entrance to Magic Kingdom. Keep an eye out for shorter entry lines along the row, as the crowd doesn't always disperse evenly. There is another ticket booth way off to the far right, but your wait should be shorter back at the first one because there are more booths there. But if you missed that one or if anything goes wrong at the entry stall, you would then go to the one on the far right.

For the other two parks, you'll just drive following the signs / use your GPS to get to HS and DAK (don't get thrown off by signs for Animal Kingdom *Lodge*). At those ones, you will park, go through security, and go straight to the entry stalls - the ticket you pick up on your first day should apply to your whole visit, so you won't have to go to another ticketing booth.

One final, important note: Every day, make sure you know the parking lot name and the row number where you parked so that you can find your car again at the end of the day. This is easy to forget, especially if you find yourself walking diagonally between cars instead of walking to the end of your row and then following the main road, but it's really important to remember because the parking lots are *huge*. Take a picture of the row makers, write it down, make it a game with your family for everyone to track the parking spot and then be the first when you leave to call out your parking location or whatever else you need to do to make sure you remember, because wandering aimlessly hunting for your car at the end of your day when you are already tired is absolutely no fun at all. If you do forget, you can track down security or a parking attendant who will help you figure out approximately where you were based on what time you arrived, but you don't want to have to get to that point.

Do we have any consensus which way across from the TTC to the MK is the best bet with distancing right now? Here now...

@Jaina I believe the pic in this thread is from yesterday coming off the ferry. I'd expect the monorail was crowded as well. Off-peak hours might be better. I think it's a toss-up which might be "best bet" for social distancing. My vote would be WDW bus or walking from CR or GF if you can do those.

Depends on how you choose to define 'safer'. Bus/monorail are both enclosed spaces while the ferry is more open air.

I was thinking we could walk to MK. The old page I found that detailed the TTC said it was about a 30 minute walk.

You do NOT want a 30 minute walk to MK, especially with what you have in front of you. In front of you means more walking for hours and then a 30 minute walk back. Park at TTC, monorail. I would definitely not do that walk. Only if at Contemporary.

EDIT: And, there is no reason for TTC for AK or HS. They have their own parking lots.
