" Virtually no one waiting in the TSMM FP+ only line, some cars being dispatched 1/2 empty"

:rotfl2::rotfl2:Solution to the TSMM problem is not build more rides, it's figure out how to prevent people from riding it.

Also why the heck didn't the do this test when they were forcing people to watch the stupid Frozen Opening show. This system could have prevented the running of the bulls.

Whoa there. I live 8 miles from Disney. Why would I ever need a reservation. Way to punish me for living close.

It's why i book, and cancel no later than park open if Im not going to use them. Usually, i even know the night before.

If this is all about third track capacity, it sort of makes sense. But they still should know capacity without a weird test. Unless this is about pushing the envelope

I too have an AP and I understand why we're allowed to book- it's just infuriating when someone intentionally books fp's when they have no intention of using them- just for some sort of weird, twisted way in their minds of sticking it to Disney- which they aren't of course.

So yeah, the notion of not allowing ap's to book without reservations is probably overkill-

I'm waiting for Disney to start charging a $5 per person FP+ "no-show" fee! :lmao: JK… kinda...

If you didn't book, you would not get on the main rides. Same reason I booked all my days. I felt pressured to make the most of my 60 advantage.

From those pics, it looks like the SB line is the one being used by the FP+ people today. I wonder how they're being routed over there?

I would presume they're just using the standby entrance. If not, I think it's easy enough to reconfigure the queue.

So I guess "stuff" does not include Test Track, Maelstrom, nor of course the hot tickets over at MK.

well Maelstrom we went the last day of operation so no surprise there. Test Track it was the first time I ever had issues getting it day of. I imagine food and wine and the runDisney event had something to do with that. The 2 over at MK even people on site are having issues with booking those so it wouldnt have been a guarentee if i could have booked at 60 days anyways.

And so it starts...

This is a joke, right? I am seriously in disbelief! Who can think this is a great idea?

Please, I have had enough of this already. First getting rid of FP-, then pushing through FP+, now no standby?? This plus pushing Frozen on us (I have 2 boys...) has me seriously considering cancelling our December trip.

He had an earlier tweet that showed the SB queue being virtually empty as well so dunno. Maybe word got out that they were testing today and everyone is avoiding DHS like it's Sierra Leone.

If you read through the patents for MyMagic+, they do state that the system was designed to have "penalties" associated with missing "ride appointments." From what I recall, the penalty wasn't monetary, but rather simply being unable to reschedule the missed FP+ and/or schedule other FP+s for the day. With enough missed ride appointments, they would take away the guest's ability to make any FP+s at all. This hasn't been implemented (yet), but when the system was designed, they clearly had in mind ways to stop people from booking FP+s that they had no intention to use, so it's definitely on their radar screens.

We've taken post-trip FP+ surveys, and there are always questions that ask how many FP+s you booked vs. how many FP+s you actually used. On our trip, that percentage wasn't that high (maybe 50%, if that) but the crowds were so low that we didn't need FP+s for really anything other than the superheadliners and Splash (it was so hot, the Splash lines were incredibly long).

So now there is a long FP+ line.... defeats the purpose of FP+ being a timesaver and there is still a line. They're just swapping out one line for another. Doesn't make sense to me?????

Wow- feeling a little self important are we?

You really think your insignificant 5 fp's that you're intentionally grabbing from ticket paying guests are going to make a dent in what Disney decides to do???

Really???? You think you personally can derail WDW???? If it wasn't such a jerky thing to do I'd be :rotfl2:
Too much coffee this morning? :lmao:

What a crappy thing to do to people who are at the parks, wanting to ride with their kids. It's one reason ap holders shouldn't be allowed to book without a reservation- there are people like you who apparently get a kick out of making fp+ reservations when they aren't even going.
I book FP+ reservations for most weekends because I MIGHT go. Typically that's not a problem because worst case people in the standby line take the slots and there's always a standby line.

For this little experiment that Disney is trying today with TSMM, I think it's best that it not go well for them. May sound like a "crappy thing to do", but in this case it's really Disney doing the "crappy thing" to all the people who will show up this week thinking they can ride TSMM by simply waiting in line. 5 FP+ reservations may not make a huge differences...tomorrow with the help of other AP holders, it will be at least 11 FP+ slots for TSMM if they make them available online....if that results in just one additional complaint at guest services then it's accomplished something.

It's completely asinine of Disney to conduct a "test" like this if the purpose is to determine how many riders can be accommodated under different scenarios and loading factors. Any imaginable reality can be tested using advanced mathematical queuing models. There's no reason to piss people off.

No, it doesn't sound like a crappy thing to do- it IS a crappy thing to do. And 5 won't make ANY difference- except to paying guests who could book them and use them.

Just wondering, why are you waiting till tomorrow to grab more?

I still say what about the day guest who shows up pays 100 dollars and has a slim chance of getting a fastpass+.

Disney hates them.

Disney loves them... their favorite customers are those who pay admission yet don't contribute to ride capacity issues.

Kenny the Pirate posted they are doing it as a test to prepare for the future development of an additional ride track at Soundstage one.

I looked on his website and.didn't see an entry...maybe it was posted somewhere else. But curious why they would do a test? I mean do they think an additional track isn't needed?

Why spend money on adding an additional track if they can "manage the queue" this way? Rationing the ride even further synchs the capacity with the number of people in line at no cost.

Yeah, but if the person doesn't show up they just put a person from the standby line in their place.

Do not try and ride standby. That's impossible. Instead... only try to realize the truth. What truth? There is no standby.
