TSM standby-less test Oct. 6-9

I think it is great that they have a system in place for no shows, I did not assume that they did because every time I look at 7D, it is filled for the day.

I've been trying for months to get a 7D FP+. no luck. Not taking a vacation day from work to make it happen. I rode it once, it was cute, but not worth a vacation day.

I'm assuming it's all the 60 dayers. I do hope they're cancelling if they decide on a different park.

Which is my problem with FP+. Everyone is having to plan too far out. I have family coming in November. They've never been to Disney. And here I am, booking FP+ for them 30 days out. TSMM has been booked every day so far. FInally got FP+ for a lousy time - middle of the day - on their Epcot day. But it's booked. WHEW.

I don't see the advantage to no SB line. It's only going to make the SB lines on other attractions longer.

It would have been nice if ALL guests had the option to reserve FP+ in advance, before testing such a ridiculous thing. But since they didn't, it's just another sign that Disney isn't interested in some people's money all simply because they don't have the right type of ticket.

Everyone has at least 30 days.
Unless you buy a ticket at the gate day of.

Those 5 guests (will be 11 tomorrow so far) who can't ride will hopefully result in complaints at guest services which will help derail this stupid idea before it becomes permanent or spreads to other attractions.

Wow- feeling a little self important are we?

You really think your insignificant 5 fp's that you're intentionally grabbing from ticket paying guests are going to make a dent in what Disney decides to do???

Really???? You think you personally can derail WDW???? If it wasn't such a jerky thing to do I'd be :rotfl2:

What a crappy thing to do to people who are at the parks, wanting to ride with their kids. It's one reason ap holders shouldn't be allowed to book without a reservation- there are people like you who apparently get a kick out of making fp+ reservations when they aren't even going.

Nope, CM tickets and guest passes are not allowed to make FP+ reservations in advance. As a guest, doesn't matter if I stay on property which we did, or spend at WDW in dozens of other ways...since we didn't put the money in the "right" ticket bucket...no FP+ in advance.

I believe that this test is not being implemented by Disney to see if it is possible at one point remove stand-by lines completely, but more as a way to gauge how many Fastpass+ they can release for the ride down the road. Soundstage 1 right next to TSMM just became a construction zone as of today, and going in that spot is heavily rumored to be a 3rd track for TSMM, which will be most likely Fastpass+ only.

Having the 3rd track be Fastpass+ only, means the original tracks there now would be stand-by only. So if the rumors are true, stand-by lines for TSMM at least would not be going away anytime soon. Why build 3 tracks and have them all be Fastpass+?

Haven't read this whole thread but my first reaction when I saw this was "The Dis must be burning today."

This is taking dumb to a whole different level. You have a theme park that has one ride that is age appropriate for a 3 year old, and now you are saying he can only ride it once per day. Good thing I paid $100 for him to go on one ride.

I did for the A&E FP+ test and saw little girls cry.

That just makes me sad. :(

I really think it's SO much better to make the long line be the deterrent rather than a sign just saying "NO". At least if the line is long, each family can make a decision about what works best for them that day. I'm sure some would look at a sign saying there's a 2 hour wait and say "no way." Others would consider that they tried all week and bypassed it but decided that this is the day to wait it out. Taking that decision away is just crappy.

I still think this might be about preparing Norway for an onslaught of Frozen fans when they don't have room there for a huge standby line. But experimenting with people's vacations is just crappy. Hmmm..... looks like a double dose of crappy today.

STILL?

That's. Just. Jeeze, unacceptable. To me anyway.

This changes things too. Just wait until what, 60,000? CM are thrown into the FP+ ring.
No SB is sounding sillier and sillier.

Your getting free tickets and I bet you got a steep CM discount on your room and maybe even used a food discount. I was a CM during this time and yah it sucked but if it was important enough for my guests to get fast passes before hand I let them know that wasn't an option with my tickets so they could either save the money or I would let them use my 10% off tickets.

Also as a CM I never had issues getting day of stuff. I just went this weekend on a busy weekend and the only thing I couldn't get was test track and Malestrom and then of course the hot tickets over at MK.

So I guess "stuff" does not include Test Track, Maelstrom, nor of course the hot tickets over at MK.

Which is probably why they aren't added. They know that it can't handle the additional load.

But it means that CM's aren't using the same system that guests are using. Which means CM's can't really answer guest questions about FP+, the app or lots of things about the new system. I know in all the years we've been visiting, that chatting with random CMs about what to do and where to eat that CM's sharing their personal experience has gone a long way to IMPROVING my experience as a guest. But with this, it can't happen because CM's aren't allowed to gain that experience.

Whoa there. I live 8 miles from Disney. Why would I ever need a reservation. Way to punish me for living close.

It's why i book, and cancel no later than park open if Im not going to use them. Usually, i even know the night before.

If this is all about third track capacity, it sort of makes sense. But they still should know capacity without a weird test. Unless this is about pushing the envelope
