TSM 3 hours...crazy

I went to DHS in March and was there at RD. It was madness when the rope dropped and everyone tried to get to TSMM first! The CM did a good job of keeping everyone under control though and I still got my fast pass with a return time of around 11:30. There were NONE by noon hour! I did SB right away than got out of there and went back in the late afternoon on my way out and used my FP.

I can believe the 3 hour line, people are insane about that ride. It was good and fun but not worth any more than an hour. I guess if you are beating the heat in Florida in June, hey why not!

So my mom has bad arthritis and no way can she walk quickly enough with the rope drop herd and I'm not a morning person--I don't think we've ever done rope drop even when I was 10 and could barely contain myself! But if I run ahead and just get the FP bc my mom won't make it to the ride to ride it without much of a wait do you think that will work???

Reminds of the lines at Kingda Ka in Six Flags Great Adventure, just crazy long.

I waited a little over 3 and a half hours for this the year it opened :rolleyes1 DF, bless his heart, waited with me every min even though he had no intention of going on. More than once I tried to leave because i felt bad, he wouldn't let me. I love that boy :lovestruc

Yes that will work. You see a lot of people doing that and it's what DH did for us. He ran ahead and got in the line and got fastpasses for all of us.

Its a great ride. Last few times the wait posted wasnt as long as the actual wait. One time it said 70 minutes but the actual wait was only 40 minutes

I agree with this statement. We were just there a week and a half ago and there was a wait time of 70 minutes posted. We were leaving the next day and decided we'd go ahead and try the wait - the line was inside the building and we just didn't feel it would be 70 minutes. Sure enough. We only waited about 30 minutes. Sometimes I think they try to control the crowd back there by posting longer hours and scaring some away.

Just curious, on the example yall are giving by heading to TSM riding it first and then pick up fastpasses and the return time might be 1 or later. Does that mean that we will not be able to pick up fastpasses for anything else before that time? And can my hus. and sons get in the standby line while I am at the fastpass machines picking up fastpasses for later and then will I be able to go up in line where they are at when I am finished?

When I got a fastpass for 11:50 at about 8:30, I could get another fp at 10:30. So, I think they allow it after 2 hours.

They won't let you go into the building to meet your family, and they yell that constantly. You have to have your entire party together before you enter the building. Your husband and sons can ride and then meet you later on if you are that nice, though!

Hopefully Disney will take this as a hint for more dark rides! :)
So are your chances of getting on this ride at a reasonable wait completely shot if you don't get in there and run for your life at rope drop? Yikes!

Last Monday, we arrived at 10:45 and got FPs for 5:50 pm...but at least we got a chance to ride...I loved it, BTW and think it is a great, fun ride.

Correct.

The longest you have to wait before you are eligible for another Fast Pass is 2 hours.

Always check the bottom of the Fast Pass where it lists the time you are eligible for your next Fast Pass.

THank you.. That's good to know that after 2 hours you are able to get other fastpasses for other rides.
