TSM 3 hours...crazy

How ridiculous is it that there is a 30 minute wait or more just for FP?! I mean, I wouldn't wait more than 5 or 10 minutes for the fast pass!

I love this ride! My husband and I just got back from WDW last week and we went there two different mornings and made a bee-line for that ride! By noon the fast passes were gone! And the park opened at 9am!

It is an AWESOME ride! But I wish the line had been shorter than 3 hours as well!

I think the wait is long because it's a ride everyone can ride. There are little babies and the "mature" set all in the same line. It's a lot of fun; I got off it after my first ever time and said, "Wow!!" That said, I am not really a morning person, but I am there at rope drop for the Studios because that's the only way to avoid that line. You can avoid the wait, but you have to do a bit of planning.

I agree. This ride, like Soarin', everyone and anyone can do. That's what makes it so crazy. I liked the ride but I wouldn't wait any longer than 20 minutes for it.

On the brighter side, 2 weeks ago, Tower of Terror never had a longer than 30 minute wait. Most times it was 20 minutes. Great news, since it's my favorite Disney ride.:cool1:

Well, the wait was in the 30-40 minute range at 9:30 both days I was there. I would say if you aren't there at rope drop but will be there most of the day, you can get a fastpass before 11. After 11, all bets are off!

This is a good point.

If riding once is enough for you, and if you are planning to stay at DHS all day (or return in the evening), then you can avoid standing in lines by picking up a Fast Pass at about 9:45 to 10:30 a.m. Your return will be late afternoon or evening, but you will have avoided the Rope Drop herd, and by 9:45, there shouldn't be much of a line at the Fast Pass machines.

I think this is the strategy we will try the next time.

It is such a fun ride. One of our families favorites. We also would never wait more that 45 minutes or so. We will play the fastpass game as much as possible.

I know that several people talk about the popularity dying down over time. I just do not see this happening any time soon.

First of all it is just a slower loader. Four cars at a time. One room at a time. No real way to spead it up short of adding a second line. Maybe upstairs or something.

Second thing is that at opeing of DHS there are what four things going? Star Tours, RnRC, ToT, and TSM. Just not a lot of things to do right away there. They really need more rides.

I just dont see things changing anytime soon.

OMGoodness I would never wait 3 hours to go on a ride - new or not! We're always at the parks for rope drop, so I'm assuming we won't run into quite that long of a wait in the morning. When we arrive that morning, dh and my oldest son are heading right over to RnRC and ToT and my little one and I will go get the Fast Passes for TSM. Hoping that works OK! If not, we've got hopper passes so we'll try again with another strategy!

Teach makes the good point: the ride is for everyone-all ages. We loved it, but we don't wait more than 25 for anything. No need really if you plan your day smartly.

Wow! That is a LOOONNNNG wait. I won't wait more than 45 minutes for any ride!

There is no ride or experience worth a 3 hour wait imo. Heck, there's no way I would wait ONE hour for a ride. When we went to HS in October, we just booked to TSM at rope drop and rode it. Then when we got off, we picked up a FP for later (return time 1pm).

3 hour wait? Can that even be right?

I won't wait more than 30 - 45 minutes (depending) for a ride.

I agree. This ride, like Soarin', everyone and anyone can do. That's what makes it so crazy. I liked the ride but I wouldn't wait any longer than 20 minutes for it.

:

Actually more people can ride TSM than Soarin because Soarin has a height restriction. I am not a "waiter" usually - we go during off times and arrive at rope drop; we stay for at least 14 days so we can spread things out -but I happily waited an hour for TSM on our last trip. It was one of our last days and we rode TSM four times in one afternoon (FPs, a rain storm, and a super nice CM that let us go in the FP lane when we didn't have a FP allowed this to happen)

Is there still the single riders line? And if so, what is the wait like for that line?

I can NOT wait to try this ride when we go, but it will be the 1st thing after rope-drop. But I can't imagine waiting three hours for ANYTHING in WDW. There is so much to do and (for most of us) so little time to do it in! That's why Fantasmic is, unfortunately, out the window, it would seem. :sad1:

Very popular ride --that's for sure.
Maybe they ought to build a SECOND TSM ride.
Let's see --where?
How about where that American Idol thing is now??

What a great idea Uncleromulus. Actually they could get rid of the American Idol show and bring bac the Who wants to be a Millionaire show. We really enjoyed playing it.

I refuse to wait in any line for anything that is longer than 45 minutes. No ride is worth that much of my time!

That's about my limit too. We know we are going to be back so we don't worry about it, we'll just get it next time.

Just wanted to add that I was shocked at the lines for TSMM. Just got back last night, was at WDW from 6/10-6/19. We went last year when TSMM had just opened and rode it probably a dozen times or more without too much wait so it was quite a shock to see 80-100 minute waits. We tried to ride it during an evening EMH and at 11:00 there was still an 80 minute wait.

What is so special about this ride?

How is it different than the Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin at MK?

If they are the same, then why do people get hyped about TSM when BLSRS exists. If you don't get to do TSM then there's always Space Ranger Spin.......

Iust wondering. I only have experience with BL... never got on TSM.
