TSA loacks

OK i know i worry way 2 much about everything but now im worrying about TSA locks!

I am thinking of buying them (the pink ones!!!) But am worried that for some reason they wont be recognised as TSA locks and my suitcase will get ripped open!

So i ask everyone who has used TSA locks...are they worth it?

Also what has everyone else done to keep their suitcase secure?

I used pink ones and green ones on our trip a couple of weeks ago and one case had been opened and re-locked by security.

The TSA approved locks have a small TSA logo on them, so should be easily recognised

I just secured my cases with cable ties holding luggage straps together on the hard bodied cases that cannot take padlocks and a cheap padlock on a soft holdall we took.

Both going and coming back the cases were not opened. I did buy some TSA approved locks from a newsagent in Sanford airport for about $6 for future journeys.

We used TSA approved locks and two of our three cases were opened on our return journey and relocked perfectly. I will certainly use them again in the future

i used cable ties last year-but then couldn't get into cases!had to trek down to the local walmart for scissors before we could unpack
We have already bought the padlocks for next years trip!

So long as the locks have the little TSA 'diamond' symbol on them, the TSA will recognise them. We used them on our trip to the West Coast and Hawaii two months ago, and didn't once have a problem. We bought ours from the Antler luggage store at McArthur Glen centre in Swindon.

Tesco are now selling the TSA locks @ 8.99ea. That's expensive isn't it???

I just got one through ebay for £6 including postage
