They probably won't want to ever go again.

I truly believe there will be a major PR backlash concerning people who have bought the DDP and don't make ADRs this summer. The parks are getting more crowded and the restaurants can't handle the capacity. People who frequent WDW forums will make ADRs because they know they're necessary. How many people such as those mentioned in the OP will not?

Is it true they opened a temporary buffet near the Tomorrowland noodle place last year during free dining to help with the overflow crowds? It might help if all of the DDP literature and all of the TA's and CM's selling the DDP explained very clearly to those purchasing it that they must make ADR's to ensure they will get into the restaurants they want. Whether or not people will listen, or actually read the fine print, who knows? But at least the info would be out there -- unlike those poor folks whose TA told them the week after Easter the crowds would be light and they could just walk in to a character breakfast. Even my TA is good, but she didn't stress to me how important ADR's are -- I just knew from reading these boards.

But this doesn't address all of the unfortunate guests who don't buy the DDP, don't frequent boards like this, and still won't be able to get into their favorite restaurants.
