Trying to get my P's and Q's in order... Also First time flyer

So I am trying to figure all this out... I am flying on Delta airlines in September to the mouse house and I am looking on delta's site at the baggage section and I am just wondering does the carry on rules apply to each person in my party? there will be myself, my DD 12, and my DSD 20 so are we all allowed one carryone and personal bag? i am using one suitcase for all our stuff and I will be checking that in but I am planning on a two carry ons for overflow.. Please help

Yes, it applies to each ticketed passenger. Each carry-on must comply with the airline's specifications, and each personal item must fit entirely under the seat in front of the passenger.

Yes, each person is allowed one personal item (laptop, purse, camera bag, etc.) that will fit under the seat in front of them and one carry-on which will need to be put into the overhead compartment. At every airport there has been a carry on bag test sizer near the start of the check in lines to see if your bag would fit. Most reasonable size bags will be OK and fit in the sizer, just watch that the size and weight is something you can handle lifting into the overhead.

I'll also let you know that although you may opt to have a carry-on, it may end up being gate checked (to pick up at the ramp on arrival) if there isn't enough overhead space available. Depending on where your seats are, if you are one of the last zones to board the airplane, odds are the overheads will be full. We just returned from WDW and experienced this both on our flights to and from Orlando (all flights on Delta by the way).

Yep, generally it is 1 carry on and 1 personal bag (like purse or laptop bag or backpack) per person. The dimensions of the carry on can vary so check Delta's site just to double check your bags are ok.
