O.k. Katholyn was right...she's always right! Atkins just doesn't work for me. I end up "cheating" every weekend and then feeling guilty because I did, not losing weight and feeling depressed because it "wasn't working" and so on. So, I'm not going to beat myself up anymore. I'm going to exercise every day and just eat healthy. I'm feeling very wishy-washy. I've gone back and forth between Atkins twice. I know I'll find what works for me though. I just need to be patient and not expect to lose it all in a month!
 
Don't beat yourself up over it! I tried Atkins twice too- couldn't do it. Hated the way I felt. I'm back at WW now and have my first weigh in tonight. I'm thinking I did alright! You find what works for YOU and stick with THAT!
 
I feel your pain, I am a Atkins drop out myself. DH lost 25 pounds in about two months but I never could get anywhere. The doctor put me on a plan and so far it is working.

Don't beat yourself up Atkins isn't for everyone and there are other healthy plans out there you just have to find the one that is right for you! I am impatient too! I would love to wake up tomorrow and find that I am a size 8 (not 16) but that ain't gonna happen!! I decided that it would probably take me about 6 months to drop the weight so I mentally committed myself to the task...so now I tell myself one month down 5 to go. Counting the months down seems to keep me in line more than counting the pounds. As long as I follow the plan - don't think about it just do it and count down the days to being healthy I'm okay.

Good luck with whatever you do and know that you CAN do it!

i've tried lots of different plans and finally found that WW is the one for me! thank goodness I kept looking instead of yo-yoing!!

Hang in there, you will find a plan for you, whether it's a ready-made plan or your own. Ask yourself what you need to have, flexibility or detailed eating plans? snacks or bigger meals? make a list of important things to you and maybe others can chime in with ideas of what will fit in your lifestyle?
 

You will figure it out! Keep the faith. The main thing is that you are still here, still determined and haven't lost the faith!

If Atkins wasn't working for you, then you did the right thing. Beating yourself up after slipping on the weekends will leave you feeling like you failed. Maybe try to really think about what you want in a plan. Like OHMom said...........do you want something structured, or something that you use as a guideline. There is something out there for everyone, but it's got to be something you can do!

Yep, baby steps is my motto these days, in all areas of life, not just weight loss!

I'd bet you could make some small, but significant, changes in your lifestyle that would make a difference. You can do it!!
