Trunk Space

We're rentinga Full Size Car (Impala). Can't Afford a bigger car. Still looking for a better deal.

Just went out and bought new luggage for a family of four.

We will be bringing the following:
2 - 29" Luggage
2 - 26" Luggage
1 - 20" Luggage/Carry on
1 - Large Diaper Bag
1 - Mac Side-by-Side Double Stroller

Will all this fit in the the Impala truck?

There will be 2 kids in Car seats so there's a little more room below their car seats.

I just tried this in a Buick LaSabre (Car using to go to the airport) and it barely all fit.

Question: Is the Impala Trunk the same size as a Buick Labre Trunk?

I Know I should pack less but that never happens.

We own a 2001 Impala. The people I work with call the trunk a "Mafia trunk", one in whicy you could easily fit 2 bodies. However, 2 - 29", 2 - 26" and a large stroller may be difficult to fit. If you know someone who owns an Impala, ask them if you could do a little experiment and see if it will all fit.

I have no idea if this will all fit in the trunk, but I don't think you will need quite so much luggage for a family of four. For our last trip there were five of us and I was able to pack my three kids' clothes in one suitcase (ages 4. 4, 6). Also if you want to make sure it fits, consider soft duffal bags or back packs as carry ons instead of the luggage type. Those will definately be able to fit under the kids' carseats.

Worst case, I guess, would be if they do not fit....unpack one of the biggest bags and stack those items on the seat between the children or in plastic bags on the floor near their feet and put the medium case inside the largest one. Pretty sure all will fit that way if you really do need that much stuff. I too am an overpacker but you must be worse than me.

We rented an Impala last year and we fit in the trunk: 1 large suitcase, 1 md. suitcase, 1 small suitcase (sorry don't know the exact sizes), 2 duffel bags and a graco tandem double stroller.

The trunks in the Impala are huge. I was worried to, but it all fit.
