Tropical Storm Fay - TUESDAY 11 AM UPDATE in post #1

And now I have heard that Fay may be headed for the Gulf Coast after it crosses back across FL.

Storm now expected to hug the coast the hook left across the panhandle as we approach the weekend.

Five day forecast is rain, rain, rain, rain, rain as more gulf moisture streams north.

While looking at TCPalm newspaper it says that route 1 at road 510 is closed to flooding. Looks like Vero is getting lots of flooding.

If you go to the NHC site and look at the satellite imagery called "Atlantic Floater 1," which is Fay, you'll see that the rain effects of the storm cover almost all of peninsular Florida. The storm covers the area all the way from Jacksonville to Miami.

About an hour ago, we had a strong burst of wind, rain and lightning, which was one of the bands from Fay..the center of which is more than 175 miles away!

It's going to be a wet 4-5 days in North Florida, and probably another 2 wet days at WDW/VB. Hopefully Fay won't spoil anyone's vacation -- but rain is a whole lot better than a hurricane.

Coastal Brevard County in the Melbourne area has had nearly two feet of rain in two days and another 8 or so on the way tomorrow.

I suspect we have had several inches around the airport about 1-2 inches per day so far complements of Fay and the same projected for the next couple of days. We have been lucky so far.

We just flew home today from Orlando. We flew JB at noon. No problems whatsoever, no delays. It rained all day yesterday and was still raining today when we left. We stayed at Pop for 6 days and moved to BCV on Sunday. Because we were gone all day Monday and with the storm, we never got to go to SAB. Seemed like a waste that we stayed there to spend time at SAB but the weather was a "wash out". The pool was open most of the time, but it was so icky out no one wanted to bother. Oh well, at least we all got home safely today....better luck next time.
