Let me just say... For those of you who are questioning using points for a FW Cabin... Give it a try!!
Our cabin was very nice.. More space than I expected... There are only two things missing that I wished we would have had... 1) The hot tub.. and 2) Washer/Dryer combo...
Besides that this place is awesome if you are looking for some peace and quiet... No hustle and bustle... You move at the speed you want to...
Monday night was rainy, and so we spent the night unpacking, unwinding, and buying some groceries...
Tuesday was all about the Magic Kingdom.. The biggest event for us was Harmony Cuts.. My DS and I both had our hair cut and colored.. My son got blue, and he picked yellow glitter out for me... Both of us had Mickey's silloutte colored into the back of our heads... Needless to say we both got some bizarre looks walking around the MK... It was a blast..
DD also got her first haircut there.. She got the complementary Mickeyears and certificate... The CM'ers there were great!
We left MK around 18:00, and made our way back to FW by boat in time for Mickey's Backyard BBQ... Expensive, but lots and lots of fun, with a HUGE amount of character time... Both kids loved it... DS was out on the dance floor all night with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale... (He even managed to try and line dance with Minnie.. ;-) )
Wednesday was a down day spent just at the campground... Big, late breakfast in the cabin.. We then went up to the Settlement Store for some shopping... Took the kids to the Petting Farm, and DS got to ride a pony around the farm for $3. Had lunch at Crocket's Tavern, and then attempted a wagon ride.. The ride was fun, but cut short by rain... (Its normally a 45 min ride, and we only got about 20...) I'm not complaining at all though.. The driver refunded ALL of our money with any problems, and then dropped us off at our bus station so the kids wouldn't get wet... We decided to head back to the cabin and end the night...
Thursday was about more shopping at DTD.. (DW had to use the 10% discount at the Basin...) For those of you who haven't been there, its a pretty nice store... Lots of soaps and "bath bombs"... We also got more toys for the kids, and gifts for family... Ate at Rainforest Cafe... The "storm" ended up scaring my DD..
I initially wanted to go check out SSR and pool hop, but the DVC ferry had just left, and it was just way too hot to sit and wait another hour for it... I guess we could've walked over there, but again the humidity was bad today, and we just decided to come back to FW...
We went to the FW pool in the Meadows... Nice pool.. No theming or anything, but it is so far the only pool I have seen at WDW where the water is over 6ft deep.... We spent three hours swimming before making our way over to Chip and Dale's campfire and sing along... The campfire and singalong were fun, but not as much time with Chip and Dale as we got at the BBQ... The whole thing lasted about 1/2 hour before they started up a movie on the "big" screen.. Tonight's showing was "A Bug's Life"... It was pretty cool watching the show on the large screen outside.. Really reminded me of going to the old drive through theaters...
We made it back around 21:00... My DW went over to the Comfort Station to do Laundry.... The kids are to bed, and I finally time to type up this trip report from the cabin...
Tomorrow we check out, and move over to CBR... I should be posting Part III from HHI on Sunday night..
